Perfect Ruler is the win bet today at 9/2. She's only had four starts, so there should still be improvement to come. Her handicap debut at Redcar was better than the bare finishing position suggests. She finished fifth of ten but was only beaten 2¼ lengths off a mark of 60, having previously been running in novice/maiden company. Being by Night of Thunder out of an all‑weather‑winning mare also gives me some encouragement for this test. She remains unexposed compared with plenty of handicappers, and 9/2 looks a fair enough price to find out whether she can take that next step.
