Showed improved form to win an Apprentice race at Wolverhampton last week and can therefore take advantage of running off the same mark here.

Kept on well inside the final furlong when 3rd of 10 beaten half a length over course and distance last time out. Remains on the same mark and should be competitive again.

Taskheer (IRE) is a 7-year-old gelding by Golden Horn, trained by Daniel Steele and set to be ridden by Jack Mitchell. He returns to the same course and distance where he won under Mitchell earlier in the year, and he lines up here 3lb lower than that winning mark, which makes him very interesting. He’s been ticking over nicely since, without quite getting the breaks, and the return to Lingfield looks a big plus given how well he travelled when scoring here before. The booking of Mitchell again is a positive sign, and from this mark he should get every chance to strike late if the race sets up with a strong early pace. Taskheer looks a strong each-way contender who could easily bounce back to winning form with conditions firmly in his favour.

Just four career runs for the 4-year-old, and he wasn’t beaten all that far on his handicap debut two weeks ago. Not helped that day by missing the break in the 11-runner contest, at the rear, wide on the long final sweeping bend, but stayed on nicely under a gentle ‘hands and heels’ ride. Should be better for the run and is in much better hands for this handicap.

This horse was placed on her first run on the AW last time out when the jockey dropped her reins. The horse can gain compensation here with a jockey booked who is superb value for his 5lb claim and who rides this course particularly well. The jockey on board last time has just one AW win in her last 100 rides, and the extra strength in the saddle could see the horse go very close now off the same mark.
