3:22 Leicester Tips

Al Barez makes plenty of appeal in the 3:22 thanks to his strong speed figure, solid recent form, and the return to turf. He has been running well without winning, and this looks like a very workable race for him. With Rossa Ryan booked, he looks one of the likeliest winners.

Wreck It Ryley was chosen because he has already shown he handles this course and distance well, having won here before. His latest run should have sharpened him up, and he looks capable of improving from it. In a race lacking standout strength, proven Leicester form makes him dangerous.

He looks a formidable each-way contender, having fallen to a career-low rating, which is 6 lb below his most recent victory. Now training with the successful John Butler yard, he prefers to race at the front and could find himself with a comfortable lead in a race that is short on pace.

Al Barez is an interesting favourite, down 11 lbs since his last run on turf. If he is better suited to turf and shows the same spark as last time out, then he could be hard to beat. However, I am interested in the each-way play of Thunderous Love. She is down in class after looking capable in a Class 4 contest at Salisbury and could capitalise again. Things didn't go right for her at Goodwood and Rob Hornby eased her down. If she can show the same level of form she left with, she should be in the frame to take the honours here.

Won on debut at Ffos Las and followed that with a decent 2nd at Windsor. Struggled a bit since returning, but both runs were on the all-weather and the bump up to seven furlongs didn't seem to suit. Back to turf here and the six-furlong distance might spark form back on track.
