Signcastle City has not won yet this year but has been placed five times out of eight runs, with the latest at Chelmsford on Poly and being a third. He last won in August last year off an 83 and comes into today off an 82 with a handy 3 lbs claimer in the saddle and could be bang in there again.

Won twice over the mile at this course and also a distance winner. Drops back down to the 7 furlongs, which should suit after running a closely contested 4th last time out over the mile.

Another drawn wide but considered is SILVER SAMURAI who is a pound lighter than when being pipped into second here in May and comes into the equation on the strength of that run. Not worried by the high draw as he's another hold up sort, who could get involved at a tasty looking price.

Race 5 at Kempton today is a Handicap (Class 4) for 4-year-olds and upwards over 1,408 m. The suggested wager is for the straight win on the 4-year-old gelding Son from the Richard Hannon yard and will be ridden by Sean Levey. This son of Too Darn Hot caught the eye last time out over this course and distance when showing improved form after being slightly off the boil for a while. He is capable of better and is facing a decidedly weak field here. Big chance.

Pitney could be worth a shot as he won at Chester this time last year off a 79. Although he has not been great for the last four runs since the break, he has dropped back to that last winning mark and has had wind surgery, both of which make this a decent Each Way for me. 4P.
