Blue Prince looks very well handicapped on some of his old form. Did win here off a mark of 89 back in '24 and gets in here off a decent-looking 79. He was returning from a 215-day break when last seen at Kempton, finishing 3rd of 14, beaten only a length. He will hopefully come on for that and go close.

DANNICK holds an entry on Tuesday at Brighton also. The handicapper has been slow to relent, eased 5 pounds in 18 months and not even won! I feel he's ahead of that mark on several runs last term. Finished 3/7 here as a juvenile on heavy, beaten one and a half lengths. Been gelded since last season and wears first-time headgear and a tongue. He's also had wind surgery prior to his last race, as I recall. This is the lowest weight he's carried in his career. Best run around this weight with soft in the going was the runner-up effort at Ascot in this grade off a 4-pound higher mark last September, beaten half a length by the now 88-rated Forty Years. I envisaged he'd be around 10/1; happy to take the 16/1.

At current odds I'll take a chance on this horse. The last couple of seasons he's needed at least a couple of runs to get up to speed, so I'm prepared to overlook his two efforts this year so far. Well handicapped and has run well here in the past. Likely to bounce back before too long, so hopefully today is that day.
