The forecast rain will suit Moorland Rambler, who has twice won on heavy ground. One was here, where he does go well. The other was 2m4f at Uttoxeter. He needed his comeback run three starts ago and then ran well here when 4/17 in a competitive Class 4. In his latest run he led for a long way before his now much higher-rated rivals passed him when they changed gear. Dropped in class today, he has better claims than 16/1 odds suggest. With 5-place payout he's good each-way value.

Robbers Bridge is ultra-consistent, having won 3 of his 25 starts and being placed on 11 other occasions. His last win came on good ground at Market Rasen in May last year, but he won on heavy ground at Wincanton in March 2024, so he can handle the forecast rain. He is off the same mark as his last win and looks a good each-way bet with 5 places on offer.

After three failed starts at super huge odds, Victory Shout enters today's race on a workable handicap mark of 93. He also comes prepared with a first-time hood and a further drop in class. All these up-tick points can enhance a fruitful and better-than-expected finish.

Ex-Gordon Elliott horse that's been lightly raced since leaving his stable. The best of those runs was in a Class 4 off 109. Runs off 90 today and could place at a nice price, hopefully.
