Jupiter Ammon is likely to be a warm order with the Balding??'Murphy combination, but the horse is yet to win a race in 10 starts, so I’m not rushing to back him as favourite. I’m more interested in the 2000 Guineas-winning team of Billy Loughnane and George Boughey with Celeborn, who carries the same colours as Bow Echo and returns after a 380-day absence. That is obviously not ideal, but he looked a potentially top-class handicapper, and perhaps even better than that, when winning at Epsom last April, striding clear of his rivals in the manner of a horse to follow. He is now 9 lb higher, but all the horses that came out of that race have gone up by a similar amount since, so if anywhere near his best he could still be very well handicapped.
