The Hanon horse Paper View ran an encouraging race on debut when finishing fourth, only three lengths behind the eventual winner. Looks sure to have benefited from that run.

Musselburgh two-year-old form worked out very nicely on the Roodeye yesterday, and something similar can happen again today. Caturra Lights was a very promising third over five furlongs on his debut. He was the absolute standout in the paddock that day, and it was probably only inexperience that cost him the win. The trainer said he would move him up in trip immediately, which is what he does here. As long as he handles the track, he must surely go very close.

Bay colt born in March 2024, a son of Kodi Bear and mare Magical Dreamer, who won at six furlongs and a mile, with a total of six wins from twenty-one outings. Her dam was Acclamation, who was a speedy individual and won over five furlongs and six, which saw her rack up six wins from sixteen runs. Kodi Bear has plenty to live up to and can be doing so from stall one, being locally trained by Hugo Palmer.

Once-raced Havana Grey gelding. 4/7 on debut at Bath 10 days ago on good/firm going. John Egan rides. Chester well; has good place chances.

Sunrise at Dawn made a promising start and kept on nicely, so there’s real scope for improvement here. She’s bred for speed. Lidster’s juveniles can improve very quickly, and De Sousa’s booking adds a bit of class to the ride. To me, she’s a good each-way type, in my humble opinion, if she takes to this trip.
