Having been purchased after a win at an Irish Point last year, this 5-year-old created a notable impression by clinching a Market Rasen bumper in February. He followed that up with an outstanding hurdles debut 10 days ago, positioning himself as a leading contender.

Won four out of four for new yard between March and June with two of those very convincing. Gave a decent account on return from a 70-day break at Market Rasen to finish 2nd of twelve when a last jump perhaps took out the steam to win it. Cheekpieces return for better concentration.

The 5-year-old has been progressive this year over hurdles, form 32111, with good RPR ratings from his last two starts. Winning a handicap under a big weight last time out, never really in trouble, the form was given a nice boost from the runner-up since. Top jockey Brian Hughes was in the saddle for those three wins, and he should have a good idea if the selection is worth his place in this Grade 2 novice hurdle.

The last runner for this stable was well supported on seasonal debut before winning well for this jockey and this horse looks seriously overpriced to me. The horse won a bumper on debut last year as well when quickening away to beat a well fancied Henderson horse in style. The 2nd and 3rd are basically 120 rated horses and that form looks strong enough to be competitive here. He's well bred too and could surprise.
