Kingston Queen won her only point and, last season, won two and was placed three times in her five bumpers. She won her first hurdle race at Chepstow emphatically from the front, only making a mistake at the last flight. Although dropping down in distance here, she will be difficult to pass.

Old Park Star was placed in three bumpers for Paul Nicholls but then moved to Nicky Henderson, and a big transition took place with drastic improvement shown. Looks a very capable horse.

Decent point-to-point sort who won easily last time out and looked the winner from some way out. Will have excellent stamina for this race on soft going, which should also suit, and could go close today.

Minella Marathon is a highly regarded horse from the red-hot Skelton yard. The trainer said in his stable tour that he really likes this horse, and you could see why on his debut when he won easily. I like the way he quickened up when asked. He faces better opposition here but will improve from his first run.

Our Boy Stan is a 4yo gelding trained by Ben Pauling and ridden by Ben Jones, who are having an incredible season. Our Boy Stan has been successful in small fields: a bumper at Kempton and a novice hurdle at Ffos Las. He looks open to improvement, being out of a dam bred and trained by Nicky Henderson, Whoops A Daisy (GB), who was fairly useful and foaled some nice types such as Go Dante (7 wins from 21 starts, rated 139). Our Boy Stan is overpriced at 14-1. Put in an RFC with Irish raider Mullaghgloss, another exciting prospect.

Mullaghgloss is a 4yo gelding trained by Andrew Slattery. He is a bumper winner at Galway and finished 2/9 on his hurdles debut behind L'Evangeliste, who has since franked the form and is rated 130. Mullaghgloss then put that experience to good use last start, making all at Thurles and jumping well. Sired by top-class sire Walk in the Park, he's out of a once-raced dam related to seven flat winners, one of which went hurdling ??' Countrywide Flame, rated 169, a horse who won the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham and the Fighting Fifth and placed in the Champion Hurdle. Mullaghgloss looks a good prospect and can only improve. He may have too much speed for his rivals in the closing stages, with horses like Old Park Star likely destined for further, as he took quite some time to get on top at Kempton.
