Emerald Army ran well to win by a neck over today's course and distance despite the jockey losing his whip some way from home. However, Miakoda appears to be the more consistent in-form horse, having two wins and two seconds in his last four races. He is up four pounds for his latest success when winning by just over one length. Dropping back down to class six, off this mark, Miakoda appears to hold obvious claims.

Patontheback managed another win ten days ago off a 59. Although up 5 lbs for that, he has a handy 5 lbs claimer onboard. Last year, he did win here off a 61 and followed up at Musselburgh off a 66, both making me think today's 64 is doable.

Veteran, who hasn't won on turf for a while, did strike at Southwell in May. Has remained in good form on grass since and was a good 3rd off this mark at Beverley last time. Should go very well dropping back into class 6 this afternoon.

CD winner who won a class 5 here on 9th July on good to firm with rating 62. Then ran 8th of 10 off a higher rating of 64 but it was on soft going which may not have suited. Last run was also off 64 rating but that was in an Amateur Jockeys race finishing behind one of today’s rivals Patontheback. Rating down to 63 today with pro jockey back on board and can be given a chance if that last run is ignored.

We've been on a big price Ruth Carr winner already this month, and in REPUTATION here, she's got an elderly horse for sure, but one that is running pretty consistently. The 12-year-old has been within around 3 and a half lengths of the winner in each race for the best part of a year and drops in grade here, so could well get involved at a big price if keeping up the performance.

Koji has gone up 3 pounds since that last run which was a win over a slightly shorter distance, kept on well late on last time which suggests this small step up in distance may be more suitable, will need a bit of improvement though but that is possible because this is only his 2nd run for this trainer , should have more to offer for this trainer. This jockey was in the saddle when this horse won last time so that's a positive factor.

Nibbled at in the betting last time out, but was almost put through the rails on the home turn and was eased right down. Drops into a Class 6 here and has been fitted with a visor for the first time.
