Since winning a Leicester maiden in November, Olly Murphy's 7-year-old has built up an extremely consistent profile in the four handicaps he's contested. His second at Wetherby 50 days ago is working out, and he looks the one to beat.

French import. The 7yo didn’t race last year. Two runs this year for Nicky Henderson. Tried first over fences but did much better over hurdles last time out. Not quite getting to the winner but well clear of the rest. The winner has since given that form a big boost. He is 2 lb better off now, having been overweight in that contest. He’ll be fresh after a ten-week break.

Society Soldier has some of the best form here and is a big price. He has improved with every race, including here last month, and is still very much unexposed.

Worth chancing, considering won this race last year from this mark and the form looks strong with plenty of future winners in behind. The 2nd, Ace of Spades, is now 14 lbs higher in weights.

He has demonstrated potential over hurdles, finishing 2nd and 3rd in earlier races at Ayr this year. With the skilled jockey J J Slevin set to ride, this 6-year-old Milan gelding has shown he can endure and performs well on soft ground, positioning him as a solid candidate to place at 18/1.

Worth an interest despite looking up against it in this grade. On the plus side, he does have back-to-back course wins in January and has four C&D wins to his credit.
