Montezuma comes with a decent enough history and price tag out of Godolphin. Jim Goldie looks to have finally pressed the button with this horse and hopefully will make the mark look laughable here.

Rousing Encore for Ruth Carr has a great chance in this race. He won previously in October 2024. A very tempting each way bet.

Lord Bertie looks quite a big price in this ordinary handicap. It's true that Lord Bertie hasn't been in great form for a fairly lengthy period, but he ran much better in the Silver Cup a couple of weeks ago. He does have some good back form, and the ground is perfect for him. He has the benefit of a decent five pound claimer on board as well, so there are reasons to think he will go close.

Need to forgive a poor run back to 5f last time, but this horse was in fair order before that, and his only previous effort on quick ground was a 13th of 16. His sole run came on soft, so that’s a plus on a return to this surface. He posted a career-best RPR at York two starts ago and sits 2 lbs lower than that now, so if he can put last time behind him, he should be competitive. Pace-wise, he’s been competitive over further, so the drop back in trip last time never really looked logical. His best efforts have been when leading, and this is open to that with a lack of otherwise obvious pace.

Race 6 at Ayr today is a Handicap (Class 4) for 3-year-olds and upwards over 1,207 m. The suggested wager is for the each way on the 3-year-old gelding Azure Zain from the Richard Fahey yard, and will be ridden by Jack Garrity. This son of Hello Youmzain has, at first glance, below-looking form. However, upon closer inspection, it should pay to note he has been racing against far stronger competition. He should be a major contender in this race.

This looks like a very competitive, wide-open race with current market leader 'Montezuma' arriving here with the best recent form. But I'm giving this Irish raider a squeak at big odds, now dropping back in trip after finishing 9th of 15 to 'Quadruple' at the Curragh (7f) on good ground in a competitive handicap back in June. It could surprise after a break.

EDUCATING RITA is generally running well at the moment and took a step forward last time out at Hamilton. Chance from the same handicap mark and runs well on the soft ground too. Looks to have a favorable draw, so despite the odd off day, which could happen again, I think she's still worth a punt.

Distance winner who's turned out again quickly after running only 10 days ago, when finishing a keeping on at the finish 4th of 9 over 5f 110yds with a rating of 76. Slightly further yardage today over 6f will suit with the rating down to 74.

He can be unpredictable, but he boasts 5 wins at this course. This year, he has achieved 3 wins from 11 starts over 5f. He placed 10th in a handicap at Haydock 51 days ago, failing to make an impact. The trainer is in excellent form, and the jockey's 3lb claim leads me to consider an each-way bet at enticing 25/1 odds, with 4 places available.
