Cromac Quay made an excellent debut, beaten just 2L after showing me plenty of promise against better horses. Her debut form has been franked, and she’s the sort who can improve from that last run. This looks an ideal opportunity here

Johnny Murtagh's charge looks an interesting newcomer on paper, being a filly by Pinatubo out of very useful high-class 1m2f winner Harasiya (by Pivotal), as well as a half-sister to very useful 19f scorer Hamsiyann.

Taking a chance on Hinder to go close here. Ran well at Dundalk on the AW track over 6f to place 5th of 8 runners at 5/2 last month. Should improve on that run on turf. Stepping up in trip should help. Trainer G. M. Lyons' yard has a decent 13% SR with 3-year-old runners at Naas. The yard does well with 14% in 3-year-old maidens and has an SR of 14% over the 1m trip. Jockey Colin Keane is on board and he has a 15% SR riding 3-year-old runners at Naas. He does well riding over 1m trips with an SR of 16%. So I think Hinder has a good chance in this one.

Closely represents the powerful Coolmore connections. The filly has had three races, only one of which was on good ground, and that was the standout performance of the three. Back on good going today, it is hoped she can recapture that form. Having contested sprints so far, today's step up in distance to one mile may bring improvement, as Closely has five winning siblings, some of whom have been effective over a mile. Out of a dam who won a Group 3 race over 7 furlongs at Doncaster, there should be more to come from Closely.
