This horse is a progressive hurdler and is 10 lb higher on the mark over fences. It is a tough horse that fights to the finish and will love the soft, heavy ground.

Previous course-and-distance winner who is now back down to a workable mark. Switches from chases to hurdles under jockey Peter Smithers, who has won twice on this horse. Handles testing conditions and should be competitive in this field. Worthy of an each-way punt.

Hesgonethatway is a 5-year-old gelding trained by P. J. Rothwell. He is lightly raced with just four starts. He finished 8th of 16 on his handicap hurdle debut over course and distance on today's soft to heavy ground. He was given a relatively easy passage around Naas. Held up in rear, some headway after 2 out, no extra in the run and beaten by a mere 10.25 lengths. He is bred for hurdling, being a foal out of a dam that ran just four times, winning on her bumper debut and then winning a maiden hurdle on heavy ground over 19.5f; she was rated 125. P. J. Rothwell is great at placing his horses in handicap company, picking up 104 winners with an ROI of 99.4% since 2021, yet is just 1/26 wins YTD, so he's overdue.

A Friend of mine mentioned this charge last night & upon reviewing with fresh eyes this morning I'd say that it would be foolish to completely write off Lorna Fowler's 7 year old Mare FAIRYLAND OPERA. This Daughter of ELUSIVE PIMPERNEL reverts back to hurdles after an unsuccessful stint over the tall timber & should this charge pick right back up where she left off this time last year which saw her finish 2nd in this very race (16f Soft) this was then followed up with a 2nd @Navan (16f 3¼ Soft OR 112) then romped home next time out by 12 lengths @Tramore. We have a 50% place strike here @Naas. Trainer Lorna Fowler has a 50% place strike rate with this Mare over Hurdles & 40% place strike rate here the past 5 years. I'd say a chance to could be taken here.

This horse has been consistent over hurdles since joining this stable. Comes here today after a spell chasing and makes each-way appeal on return to hurdling. Has a useful piece of previous form at Naas, which is helpful, and has a good previous race with today's jockey, whose 2 lb claim is also useful. Looks set for a good race, with place claims at least.
