Three Card Brag represents a yard that has a great record in this race. The selection will have been aimed at this race. The selection was a decent hurdler and will love the ground and trip here and should run a big race.

Just 5th start for Cromwell and is totally unexposed over this trip in a handicap and has won here in a bumper. The 2nd to Jagwar at Cheltenham is standout recent form from 2 lbs lower. Has finished 6 lengths behind Spillanes Tower in a Grade 1, so there has to be mileage in his mark.

Untested over a trip this far. The handicapper has been kind to him, leaving him on the same mark as last time out. He ran a cracker in a fiercely competitive renewal of the Blazers last time out, finishing a close-up 4th behind Turnpike Trip. Beaten just over 3L by the winner. A solid run given he was lumbered with top weight. He's 2 from 2 at this track, with both wins coming over shorter than this. His chase win here rates the stronger form. He beat stablemate Jordans comfortably. That horse has subsequently finished 2nd in a pair of Grade 1 novice races. This trip should be okay given how strongly he was staying on over slightly shorter last time out. Maybe this race was the plan all along. He looks to be a solid each-way bet if seeing out the trip and cutting back on the jumping errors (prone to 1 or 2 errors).

Gordon Elliott likes to have a few entries in these regional Nationals, and he has four runners here. Although confidence is tempered by the poor form of the yard, bearing that in mind, I normally would not get involved. But the 8yo mare ran such a good race in the Galway Plate, I have to be on at a double-figure price, with the drying ground in her favor.

Looks to have been laid out for this. Trip and ground will suit, off a very good mark. Will be staying on late and looks good to make the frame.
