After her first victory at Tramore, Cousin Kate competed in two more races and finished in the top three in both. Such consistency sets her apart from the other competitors in this race. There is a good chance she will win again.

Progressed in maiden company - coming good at the second time of asking at this distance. Powered clear in the mud to win a tricky-looking contest. Now goes handicapping and should relish the heavy conditions again. Looks good value.

Phil's Choice looks a cracking each-way here for this handicap hurdle. Pulled up at Fairyhouse last when sent chasing; the trip was too far. Mark of 106 is generous here with a 50% course-and-distance strike rate. He is a proven winner now dropping in class, and Tiernan Power Roche claims 3 lb off here.

I've had Patrick Foley's 6 year old Mare ARCTIC PIPER in my tracker a little while & whilst I have my reservations I think I'll tentatively pull the trigger here. This Daughter of WALK IN THE PARK Caught my eye (& Subsequently went into my tracker) last month at Thurles (20f Yielding/Soft) when returning from a 194 day break but despite running wide I thought this charge showed a little bit of spark but seemed to fade. I was convinced this Trainer would either keep him level of drop him in trip but opted to send him further which confused me (I know it's not difficult!) but now looking at this fixture I'm thinking/Guessing that this was the target all along. Now (hopefully) rid of the hoof rust & dropping back in trip doesn't look a bad shout here now 2lbs lighter at a venue she's previously placed at. Jockey Conor Stone Walsh takes the reins now. Put it this way if this Mare was 10/1 I wouldn't back her with stolen money but at (current) 28/1 I'm happy to have a small part of the festive pie.
