Of the five horses that are re-opposing from the DRF last time out, WHIMSY was the only one with stamina left at the end. She was running on to finish 3rd after being hampered 3 out, or would have finished closer. She has only gone up by a pound for the effort. She has one win and a frustrating 15-frame places from her 18 outings over hurdles, and three flat wins to her name. Her turn must come around again soon. Cheekpieces were fitted for the first time last time out and improvement was shown, so they were retained today. She is reunited with a good claimer, Eoghan Finegan, after his good ride last time out, and he takes off a useful 7 lbs.

Having moved from France to the Willie Mullins yard, Lumiere Du Large's first race was in last season's Triumph Hurdle, where she finished nearer last than first. Things didn't get any easier for her in her next race, where she was again put into a Grade One race and finished eighth, well beaten by Lulamba. She then had her summer break and reappeared in December in much calmer waters and finished fourth. Her last race was just under a month ago, where she finished fifth. This will be her first trip to Leopardstown and the first time Danny Mullins has been her jockey. Dropped two pounds and probably still to show her best since moving from France. Hopefully today could be the day.

This horse finished a good sixth of eighteen (not far behind the winner) at this course last month in a C1 race. Previous to that, won at Limerick. Mark looks fair. Trip and going look fine. Darragh O'Keeffe returns to the saddle and has a decent record on this horse. Each-way chance.
