Goldrush Kid is a strong contender for the win. The horse comes off a fantastic second-place finish over this course and distance and is well-drawn. With blinkers and a tongue-tie, he has a strong chance to break his maiden and win this race.

LUCKY OUT brings C/D winning form and had a noteworthy jockey booking last time out. Ditto this time with the highly experienced Seamie Heffernan stepping up , and she is a well handicapped filly who shaped last time out as if she was now coming back to hand. Much the most likely.

Shelbourne has got decent back form in England on soft ground and is drawn on the right side here. Drops in the handicap and should be at least competitive in this field, I think.

Alex Belardo is first reserve, but if he gets a run, he looks to have a good chance. He was placed 3 times last summer before winning at Down Royal in September off a mark of 57. He was hit with a 6 lbs rise and subsequently struggled in his next 3 starts. There was, however, more encouragement from his 3rd place finish at Roscommon last week off the same mark as his win. Dropped 3 lbs today, he looks like a good EW bet with 4 places on offer.

Alto Sax at 17.00 is a fantastic each-way bet. He has been running consistently well and has recently placed in a handicap. With a favorable low draw and the services of D.B. McMonagle, he should be in contention for a place.

I tipped up Charlie O'Dwyer's 6 year old Mare LADY ARWEN last time out & surprisingly she's dropped 4lbs & drops in class here today following a decent run 21 days ago @Roscommon. This Daughter of POSTPONED has a 60% place strike rate here @Galway with all of those coming on testing ground off marks of 68-77 (arrives here on 62) with last time outs pilot Jack Cleary's 5lb claim essentially bringing this girl down to 57. The draw in stall #13 wouldn't be top of my Christmas wishlist but this charge did place here from stall #14 on one of those aforementioned placed runs here. Now Sitting on a career low mark and currently trading at 20/1 I'm more than happy to partake here each way.

Finished a neck 2nd in this race last year. Was a good 2nd in July over this trip. Disappointing last time, but looks on a good mark today and likes the track. Can go close.

This filly has participated in 3 races without securing victory. Recently, she placed 8th in a maiden event at Bellewstown 2 weeks ago. She is now set to make her first appearance in a handicap race. Although she must show improvement, trainer John McConnell is known for successfully preparing horses for shorter distance races for the first time. Therefore, an each-way bet at 25/1 offers fantastic value.
