ROCKVIEW CONSORT may have more to offer given the now excellent form of the yard and stepping up in distance. She is not entirely exposed as a handicap hurdler and she has a talented 7lb claiming conditional jockey aboard offering good value for the 7lb he is allowed. Feasibly treated having interestingly run well at this venue previously she could be the answer.

Peckham Springs is an 8-year-old gelding trained by Dermot A McLoughlin and ridden by P J O'Hanlon. He is 2/19 wins as a hurdler and has been somewhat in decline over the past year or so. He is a course winner in a handicap hurdle in June 2022 off 104 with today's jockey P J O'Hanlon taking off 2lb. He posted a career-high RPR of 120 that day in a tongue tie and cheekpieces (worn today), so today's return could rekindle some interest. Today's race is a 0-110, so a repeat of that kind of form would see him well handicapped on 89 and just 10st 5lb by anyone's standards. He has rarely run over today's 2m 6f, but on his penultimate start, he signaled that this trip may suit. He finished a remote 16.75l 4/10 at Downpatrick over 2m 3f, rallying well on the run-in again at Downpatrick, and is one to consider for a yard that does well with horses over these more extreme distances: 35/465 wins, 101/465 placed over 2m 6f+ in handicap hurdles/chases, showing a LSP of £190.12.
