Schiehallion proved he is well suited to today’s conditions very recently. On 29 August at Down Royal over the same 3m trip, he finished second in a comparable 73??'100 handicap hurdle, posting an RPR of 99 and TS 61. He ran off the same mark of 97 as today, showing he can operate at the top of this band over course and distance. The jockey noted he “kept on well final 110yds,” confirming his stamina. He has also recorded his career-best RPR of 102 over this C&D.

The only time that she has tried this far was on heavy ground in February, so that is easy enough to excuse. She shaped as if well worth a go again last time out. Her three half-siblings, who have raced, all stayed this far and were capable of a stronger level of form than she has shown so far. She might be capable of better.

At 16/1 I genuinely like the look of Aengus King's 11 year old Veteran Gelding FILL THE TANK I left this last night when it was 11/1 but I have to take my chance now. This Son of GOLD WELL finished 3rd @Limerick over this trip earlier this month on testing ground & whilst the going here is currently Good/Yielding I'd expect a little more juice with a few showers expected which would suit this old boy. This charge is essentially 4lbs better off today with the booking of Jockey Cian Cullinan who sheds 7lbs. 5 places I'm happy to roll the dice.
