So many in with chances here. One thing is for sure, you cannot leave 7 y/o Gordon Bennett out of the conversation. OK, he hasn’t won in a while, but he will appreciate the going. Some of his best form is on the soft. He’s running off a career low mark, he’s a course and distance winner, and while the top of the market is strong, I think this lad with the added first-time cheekpieces might outrun his odds. Lots of risk, but at 20/1, lots of reward.

Yet to win this season on the flat. The in-form Dylan Browne McMonagle steps up this time. Hopefully, this is the sign a good run is planned. Can run close off this mark and should like the ground if it stays soft.

Storm Averted is lightly raced and improving fast, showing glimpses of serious potential in recent outings. The Curragh's straight suits his smooth stride, and any cut in the ground would help further. With confidence growing in the yard, Storm Averted could surprise a few and make a strong statement.
