European Tour 9 Tips

The Iceman looks a strong favourite for me this week at the Slovak Darts Open. In a half with top seed Gian van Veen, who has struggled on the European Tour, as well as Aspinall and Noppert, I am tipping Gerwyn Price will go all the way this weekend to win the title.

With Littler and Humphries absent, van Gerwen is the clear class act left in the field. A three-time World Champion and European Tour specialist, his pedigree and consistency over short formats make him the rightful favourite in Bratislava.

Van Veen is my main choice. He is the No. 1 seed, and the field is slightly more open because Littler and Humphries are absent. He also arrives with strong momentum after his World Cup performances.

The Welshman carried Wales last weekend at the World Cup of Darts, and I am tipping he will have a very good weekend at the Slovak Darts Open. Jonny Clayton has been knocking on the door on the European Tour lately, and in the bottom half of the draw my tip is The Ferret will go all the way to the final.

The Bullet was a quarter-finalist and semi-finalist in the two Players Championship events midweek. I am backing he carries his form over to the European Tour, where Littler and Humphries don’t play. Stephen Bunting is away from Van Veen and Price, and I am backing he will go all the way to take the title.

Voltage found some form midweek in winning the last Players Championship event, and I am backing he will head to the European Tour event this weekend with plenty of confidence. He is in a part of the draw where he could build some momentum, and I am backing Rob Cross to go all the way to the final.

The Dutch darts player has had a couple of semi-finals in the Players Championship over the last month. I do think he will look at his draw and think he can beat the likes of Wattimena, Springer, Chisnall, and Schindler to reach the semi-finals at least. I think Noppert looks a very good bet to go all the way to the final in this European Tour event.

Cristo Reyes showed in the World Cup of Darts what a talented player he is. If he is on his game, there is no reason why he can't make the final at least.
