Natus Vincere looks a progressive seven-year-old mare and won a poor race at Huntingdon. She barely came off the bridle on her second try in handicap company, with Sean Bowen replacing an inexperienced amateur in the saddle. The selection had plenty in hand at Huntingdon, and it appears that starting her handicap racing from a very lowly mark gives the impression she could be a mare to set up a sequence of wins.

I don't expect many goals, but both sides will be very wary of what defeat might mean with regard to qualifying for next season's Champions League. This makes me think the game will be predominantly played in defense and midfield. I have played things through but cannot see past a draw today.

Traps 1, 2, 3 and 4 have a major task, with them all being railers, but early pace is not something any possess. Thus the six dog has been running generally from inside traps. He could bump the selection if away powerfully and slickly. That's the only problem I feel we could have, and I take our chance at 9/4.

Penny Time won first time up for Hugo Palmer on 6th March but was disqualified by the stewards on an objection from the Clerk of Scales because the jockey, Joe Levy, weighed in 1.5 lbs lighter than when he weighed out before the race. On Saturday the horse is on a retrieval mission and James Doyle has been booked by Hugo Palmer to ride the horse. James comes to Southwell for this one ride. This looks a major bet and our nap of the day. I noted this horse down as a strong next-time winner.

Harrogate's problem is they haven't scored enough goals: 26 in 36 games. That's very poor form. With key players missing through injury and this being their third game in seven days, including extra time with ten men versus Chelsea, I think Swansea can win the Welsh derby at Wrexham tonight. Swansea are five points behind Wrexham at the moment, but that could be reduced to two by the end of tonight's game. Swansea will be up for this as they are on a roll.

Panda Boy has won impressively at Naas and Thurles this season for trainer Martin Brassil. The horse is well worth his place in this showpiece Hunter Chase. The trip will be no problem as he stays 29 furlongs. He has a good amateur rider in the saddle, Mr. John Gleeson, who is no stranger to winning at Cheltenham, having won here in 2023 aged 18. Overall, he has a very sound profile and should run very well.

This time of the year is the time Inothewayurthinkin comes to hand if you look at the 8-year-old's career results. We need to forgive him his heavy fall at Leopardstown in February, but reports are that he is over that. The horse won this race 12 months ago after not showing too much prior to that. Gavin Cromwell had a winner at the meeting on the first day with Final Orders, so the yard is not out of form and some other runners were close up without winning. The key to this race, I feel, is Cromwell will have the horse as good as he possibly can. That factor of the horse coming to hand, I feel, could be a big thing at the business end of the day. Inothewayurthinkin could come here again and leave with the Cheltenham Gold Cup in his owner's arms... one JP McManus.

Kazansky is a horse who seems to improve run by run. Kazansky was beaten eight lengths into second by Doctor Steinberg off level weights in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown in early February. That's very good form. Doctor Steinberg reopposes today, but the extra distance is unknown and may not be suitable. The softening ground could well suit Kazansky today. At 20/1 I am very willing to go each way today, and in a difficult race he may be good enough on all known form.
