He has triumphed in several races around this trip. His most recent win was in December, winning by a slim margin in a Class 5 handicap. Throughout his career he has recorded eight victories, with a significant amount of his recent success at these intermediate middle-distance trips on AW. While he is proficient at this distance, his performance can be variable. He recently underperformed over this C&D, possibly due to changes in tactics. However, if he can return to his foundational strategies, an each-way bet at 11/1 looks poised to be profitable.

She performed exceptionally well at 1m 4f, with two of her career wins achieved at or around this trip. Every victory in her career has been on turf, and she has had difficulties on the AW, being well beaten in her last few races at Lingfield and Kempton. She now has a point to prove. She is known for her straightforward, front-running style, allowing her to surge ahead when not contested. If things align in her favor, placing an each-way bet at 22/1 could be a lucrative option.

Another I tipped at the abandoned Leopardstown meeting is Champ Kiely, who is regarded as an exceptionally skilled and adaptable performer. Recent evidence indicates that he excels around this trip. He demonstrated his endurance by clinching victory in the Grade 1 Dooley Insurance Champion Novice Chase last year at the Punchestown Festival, notably overcoming the highly esteemed Ballyburn. Under the guidance of Willie Mullins, who has remarked that Champ Kiely may need to "find a bit" to surpass the very best in the field such as Galopin des Champs, he undoubtedly remains a top-tier contender at this trip and should be considered each-way at odds of 66/1.

I tipped this the other day, before the race was cancelled due to dangerous ground. Nothing's changed, but the odds have shortened a little and it's still great value. Although he often races in the 2m 4f to 2m 6f range, he has clearly shown his ability to stay. Trainer Gordon Elliott has indicated he is well suited for 3m, often noting he is a "galloper" who keeps going. He has developed into a high-level competitor, as demonstrated by a solid 2nd place in the Grade 2 Galway Hurdle at Gowran Park earlier this month, where he performed admirably against top competition. He is effective on heavy ground. Recently, he has been performing better than ever over the mud, and even while conceding weight, he looks like a potential upset at 16/1 each-way.

This 5-year-old mare, trained by Sonny Carey, is demonstrating exceptional potential at the 2-mile trip and beyond. On New Year's Eve, she triumphed in a competitive Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares' Flat Race at Punchestown, covering 2m 2f and defeating esteemed competitors from the Mullins and Elliott stables. Carey has remarked that she is constantly improving and is very adaptable to various ground conditions, which makes her a dependable contender. Therefore, at odds of 25/1 I think she represents excellent each-way value.

This 5-year-old is seen as a very promising prospect for distances around 2m, especially in the juvenile hurdling division. Under the guidance of Gavin Cromwell, he made a winning debut over hurdles, revealing great ability despite being a bit eager and making several novice errors. Even though he can be somewhat keen, he has shown the potential to be a true stayer at this distance as he gains more experience. He is highly regarded with strong stamina for a 2m trip, and the Grade 1-winning hurdler, now competing at a lower class, seems to be a solid each-way bet.

He was decisively beaten over hurdles here last time, but now that he is under the training of Gavin Cromwell, who is back in good form, this 9-year-old with a solid record of five wins should not be ruled out. He is generally seen as a strong performer who can tackle this distance, but he excels when there is a strong pace. He could be worth considering a small each-way bet at 22/1 on muddy ground, with six places on offer.

This 6-year-old is exceptionally skilled over the 2m trip. His prowess at this range is exemplified by his triumph in the Grade 2 Royal Bond Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse in November 2025, where he led for most of the race to secure victory over 2m. He displayed remarkable determination in the Royal Bond, fighting back to win by a head after being overtaken. He has proven his ability to lead from the front at this distance, jumping smoothly to outpace competitors. Currently, he boasts an RPR of 146, positioning him among the elite novice hurdlers in the 2m category. Although he had a disappointing run last time out at Christmas, it was discovered that he had bled from both nostrils. Provided he has received a clean bill of health, I am confident it will be business as usual, and an eabet at 50/1 represents excellent value.

She is regarded as competitive rather than elite around this trip. She primarily races in Class 4 and Class 5 handicap chases and has secured wins at 2m 5f on good ground. The 9-year-old mare has a win rate of approximately 8% to 9% from over 25 starts, which makes her a solid competitor in the handicap category. Although she can be hit and miss, I consider the 18/1 odds reasonable value for each-way betting.

Acknowledged as very competitive over 2m 7f to 3m, particularly in Class 2 and Class 3 handicap hurdles. He achieved two solid placements before falling in his penultimate start and was not at his best when finishing 7th in a competitive 3m handicap hurdle at Windsor earlier this month. Her most notable performance close to this range was a 4th-place finish in a 1m maiden at Dundalk back in October 2024. Lately she has frequently ended up in the lower half of the standings, often at long odds. While she may seem like a risky bet, I believe she shouldn't be overlooked, especially with her new trainer, J G Murray, who is a well-respected, small-scale enthusiast dedicated to maximizing the potential of lower-grade horses rather than competing against top-tier stables. With odds at 80/1, I think a small each-way bet backing the noble cause is worth considering.
