The handicap debut looked disappointing when 8th but looked a strong race with Devil's Advocate and Hopewell Rock. The win last time was encouraging at Southwell after the operation and surely more to come. With jockey's claim, running from the same mark as last time out.

Stable red hot at this meeting, and this horse thrives on soft ground and won first up the last two seasons. Last year, beating Nemean Lion, who franked the form by winning the next two starts. Wasn't disgraced from a revised 7lb hike when a close 3rd behind Secret Squirrel at Windsor in another hot race with plenty of winners coming out of it. Useful 7lbs claimer on here, meaning the mark is a net 1lb lower than the reappearance last year.

Has the experience required for this race and was 4th in the race 2 years ago for Elliott from 4 lbs higher. Been rejuvenated switching to this yard, winning here last season over hurdles on similar ground on stable debut before a 4th in the Irish Grand National. Enjoyed a strong prep for this when 5th at Cheltenham behind Three Card Brag.

Classy mare who was 5th behind Lossiemouth at the festival. She looked a natural when winning on chase debut at Limerick LTO. Getting the mares allowance here should be tough to beat, especially when rated mid-140s over hurdles.

Pipe has a great record in this race, and his conditional for the season, claiming 10 lbs, got the first win for the stable last Sunday. This horse, therefore, looks chucked in from a net mark of 105, considering the 4th in the Herring Final at Kelso looks better now with the winner coming out and winning at the October Cheltenham meeting. The 13-length maiden win first up last season beat a rival who was placed in a handicap recently from 117. Sure to improve for a step up in trip.
