This 4-year-old at the foot of the weights is surely well handicapped based on the neck second last year behind Yabher, who hosed up at Goodwood at the weekend from 11 lbs higher. LTO fourth behind Rathgar at Newbury, with that horse following up easily at Epsom LTO. Just 1 lb higher here with pieces added.

Placed in this race two years ago from 1 lb higher and was eye-catching last summer back end in a 12f handicap at the Ebor Festival and 13f Premier Handicap at Leopardstown from 1 lb higher. Won the French Furze Hurdle before Christmas in dominant fashion. Ran at the Aintree Festival LTO after a break in a competitive handicap, which was likely a fitness exercise for this.

Shapes like this trip is well worth a go and has also won easily over hurdles at Ludlow on fast ground in a weak 2m novice hurdle. Was 6L here last season behind Minnie Hauk in the Cheshire Oaks, which suggests the mid-80s mark has to be workable.
