Real Dream's three wins came way back in 2022 and 2023, the latest over course and distance in July 2023 off 91, soon after which his mark topped 100 and he struggled to merit his high rating. He ran early this year in Meydan and Riyadh, finishing a close fourth, beaten three-quarters of a length in a 15f Group 2 handicap on similar going to what he will face at Ascot. He needs to bounce back from some poor runs in the UK, which has dropped his mark back to 99. Drawn well in stall 1 for a position on the rail around the bend at the end of the home straight.

She joined George Boughey from France this year, winning her first race in the Winter Derby Trial at Lingfield, and did well to finish third in a Group 2 at Newmarket last time after getting upset in the stalls and being left several lengths at the start.

Willie Mullins has not overraced Bunting either on the flat or over hurdles. He looked unlucky in last season's Cesarewitch at Newmarket when third to Beylerbeyi, as he was hampered early on and lost his position. After making headway, he was short of room 2f out while waiting to challenge, and Beylerbeyi had flown by by the time he got out. He is now six pounds better off with that rival, and seven-pound claimer Harry Vigors is also given the ride.

On a line through Backer Bilk there should not be much between Edelak and Machete Beach, who have both beaten that horse when winning. Edelak, who won on the flat in Ireland, has improved with each run over hurdles and can improve again to sit behind Machete Beach and beat him for speed in the home straight.

Overpass joins Australian mare Asfoora in this large-field 5f Group 1 sprint to highlight the strength of Australian sprinting. Although he hasn't won since 2024 and has run all but one of his races over 6f (the other being a 7f race last year), he is speedy enough to win this. In 2025 he started the year with a short-head second to Briasa in a 6f Group 1 at Randwick and finished fourth to Joliestar in the same race this year, with Briasa only eighth.

She ran down the field in a Grade 2 hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and then was pulled up in a Grade 1 hurdle at Fairyhouse. She then trotted up by 27 lengths at Tramore in a maiden hurdle last October despite being keen. If fit and ready, she should win again.
