This should rest between the Gordon Elliott pair, and Maxxum returns to chasing for the first time since 2024, when he ran poorly at Lisowen on good going, dropping back early and pulling up. But that was only his third chase, having won his first, a beginners' chase at Tipperary over three miles on yielding ground. He much prefers soft going, and getting six pounds here over two and a half miles, he has every chance.
