Andesite's only win came as a two-year-old in his first race at York when trained by Karl Burke. He did not run badly on his only visit to Newmarket last season when sixth of 17 in a Class 2 handicap in July. He has fallen down the weights since then and is now with Roger Fell, and could not recover from a slow start at Newcastle when seventh of 14. Could at least get a place off bottom weight in first-time cheekpieces.
