Diamond Necklace

Daily Racing

Looks like the French fillies are outclassed in the Prix de Diane by the English and Irish fillies, with the first four in the betting. But Diamond Necklace is unbeaten in four races and did not need a warm-up race to run away with the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches at Longchamp, after pushing two lengths clear a furlong out. She should be better than Evolutionist, who finished second to her stablemate True Love in the 1000 Guineas.

Toor Moon is a maiden under rules in 38 attempts and appears out of form in recent races. Last year he had a sequence of four consecutive second places, including over course and distance off a mark of 80 last October when he failed to hold off Small Town Hero. Now down again to only 79 with seven-pound claimer Danny Power on board, he could go close.

Ardeen Joy has been improving with each race. Last time at Limerick she was pushed along to challenge the odds-on favourite La Cote Fleurie when falling at the final flight and would have been no worse than second in that race if the leader had held on. This looks a good chance for her first win.
