He was made too much use of last time on heavy at Wincanton and faded. Should confirm earlier form with 2nd-placed Valirann Gold on ten pounds worse terms, as he was heavily eased on the run-in. A first-time tongue strap may help as well.

Snipe could not cope with heavy going last time, but now has to show that he can cope with dropping in distance to two miles, having never run at the minimum distance and having run in last year's Scottish Grand National, so was thought of as a stayer.
