Riley Rocks ran into plenty of trouble in running at Goodwood, trying to find a way through the field. Otherwise, he would have finished much closer to Wedonttelllies, who won fairly comfortably but may have trouble confirming the result on seven pounds worse terms at Epsom.

Dandyman Dan was slow away on the rails at Sandown last time over 5f in the Listed National Stakes and only started closing in the last two furlongs. With Saffie Osborne keeping him on the rails he ran into the four horses fighting out the finish with nowhere to go. 6f should suit him better here at Epsom.

A P O'Brien's stable has been dominating the Classics in recent years. Amelia Earhart probably would not have been seen as a likely Oaks favourite until her final two-year-old race in a mile maiden at Leopardstown, where she made most to win by seven lengths. She wore a first-time hood and blinkers to win the Cheshire Oaks, where she followed stablemate Sugar Island until a furlong out and was then asked to win the race.

Jan Brueghel held off the challenge of Calandagan in this race last year. Calandagan did not cope well with the Epsom camber as he came to challenge, hanging in towards Jan Brueghel down the slope. Although Calandagan went on to win next time at Ascot, Jan Brueghel struggled there because his pacemaker, Continuous, was slow away and never did his job. Ryan Moore was forced to lead early on Jan Brueghel and was spent by the home straight.
