It was only a claiming hurdle that Halsafari ran 3rd in last time, but the thirteen-year-old still is capable of going close off his lowly mark of 87. He won a handicap hurdle at Cork in November 2025 when out of the handicap off 84 and was ridden by Harry Sexton, who rides him again.

Escaria Ten performed well last time when third on the cross-country course at Cheltenham. Now a twelve-year-old, his last win was in December 2020 back in Ireland. Although he copes with this kind of distance on the cross-country course and at Aintree in the Grand National, his stamina might get stretched over Exeter's fences, as the race is one and a half furlongs short of four miles.

Krabat won a Veterans' Handicap Chase here in December over further, but Mount Frisco is possibly better over two miles and could lose out on the run-in.
Mount Frisco followed a chase win over this distance at Gowran Park with a twenty-length win in a two-mile handicap hurdle at Clonmel. He could not get better than third last time back at Gowran Park in a better-class chase, finishing three pounds out of the handicap and fading on the run-in. He could win off the same mark in this weaker race.
