He can only get better with experience, and he is good enough to be at least placed again.

La Luna Artista beat a field of geldings in a seven-horse bumper at Exeter, which included her more fancied stablemate who was favourite. She will now have a race fitness advantage over most of the field for this mares' hurdle, and she looks the likeliest winner.

St Irene left the Brookhouse stable last season after a decent career in bumpers, winning her first bumper in 2024 and then running in Listed and a Grade 2 bumper. She joined Nick Scholfield and was very promising in her first hurdle race, a Class 2 novice hurdle at Newbury, where she was the only horse to keep close to Jackie Hobbs despite being unfancied at 40-1. She would not need to improve on that performance to win here.

Holly Brook, as a former point winner, should appreciate this longer distance hurdle race. Without a win under rules, she gets Divaboriva and should run her close, even if she is not in the same league as the favorite, Place De La Nation. She is also race fit from a run 25 days ago when she finished 3rd of 6 in her first run in 549 days.
Former French mare Place De La Nation has only had two runs for Willy Mullins. They were a decent 2nd to Karoline Banbou at Fairyhouse in a maiden hurdle after a 139-day break since running in France. Then she finished 5th in the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. If fit and ready for the new season, she should be far too good for the rest of the field.

Authoceltic is still a maiden after seven hurdle races and one chase. He came close to winning his first chase at Newton Abbot, taking up the running on the approach to the last, only to clip the last fence and lose his back legs slightly on landing, giving up the lead again to Haas Boy. On the short run-in, he could not recover the lead. He has been put up three pounds but may still get his first win.

Torn And Frayed won this veterans handicap chase last year as a ten year old off a mark of 125. He has seven pounds more to carry this year after winning his latest race at Aintree but he appears to be thriving as an eleven year old and should follow up.

Merry Monty looked an unlucky loser at Uttoxeter on his first run for 633 days since he gained his only win in a handicap chase at Taunton over two miles two furlongs by over eight lengths, after which he was put up nine pounds. At Uttoxeter, he jumped from fence to fence in the lead until clipping the final fence and losing momentum on landing, and being passed by two horses on the run-in over two and a half miles. On a faster surface, his stamina for two and a half miles should not be a problem up another pound.
