Born Braver did win consecutive hurdle races in April and May 2024, which pushed his hurdle mark to 130. He did not look like meeting that mark over fences until a neck second at Down Royal in January. He then disappointed badly in his first staying chase, the Grand National Trial at Punchestown in February, but reversed that form with the second at Punchestown, Uncle Pat, 8 days ago in the Ulster National at Downpatrick, storming away at the finish to win by five lengths. He gets an 8-pound penalty, but 7-pound claimer Eoghan Finegan takes the ride.
