A low grade handicap chase and a chance is taken for Daicheadacuig to spring a surprise. Possibly a quirky type, he has gone well here in the past with a win and place three years ago. Out of the blue in June last year he was a keeping on third at 200/1 in a beginners chase on this track, wearing cheekpieces and ridden by Ben Harvey. Dropping in the weights with cheekpieces back on and reunited with that jockey, Daicheadacuig cannot be entirely ruled out on his return to Kilbeggan.

Diligencia has achieved little so far which reminds me of a selling race at Leicester 17 days ago. Miss Johnson Houghton won the race with a two year old who had previously shown nothing (20/1, claimer ridden). Owned by her breeders, Diligencia may just be looking for a win at any level. Pfingstberg has been going well recently, winning on the sharp left-handed track at Lingfield. Beaten a neck in a Class 5 Newmarket event last time, this improver drops to Class 6 level and may be a cut above his rivals. A German bred horse with plenty of stamina, a fast pace would help over today's 14 furlongs trip.
