Trained on the gradients of Middleham Moor, today's track should suit as it does for many from this stable. I will take Ancient Egypt to make a winning debut.

Prophet Squeeze is a daughter of one of the leading jumps sires Walk In The Park. This mare should be better than she has shown so far, achieving little in maiden hurdles. She may improve on her second outing in a handicap. There was promise earlier this month when she weakened on the run-in at Stratford, placing fifth not beaten far despite being a remarkable 29 pounds out of the handicap. Prophet Squeeze drops 6 furlongs in trip today which may suit. A sound surface at Stratford appeared to suit. Half-sister to the useful winning jumper Irish Prophecy, there must be more to come from Prophet Squeeze.

The stable's penultimate runner was a winner. Harry Davies, whose penultimate ride was a winner, takes over in the saddle.

There could be more to come from Uppercase as he is a half-brother to three winners, two of whom achieved much higher ratings. The dam, Upper Street, won at Lingfield recording her career best effort. She was also best at 10 furlongs so today's step up in trip for Uppercase can suit.

The sire, a top class sprinter, got off the mark first time in the July of his two year old season. He also landed a Group 1 on soft ground. The stable saddled a winner yesterday and a treble on Friday.

Oriental Prince represents trainer Jim Goldie who has a 23% strike rate over the last 14 days. The stable has four entries in today's contest and it looks like Paul Mulrennan may be the key jockey booking here. He is also going well. Oriental Prince is up in the weights but only because he has been a big improver this season and who knows where that improvement will end. A sound surface is forecast which will suit based on the horse's win in May. Oriental Prince stays 7 furlongs and should be running on at the end of this contest.

This lad does know where the winning post is with three wins last season including an autumn double. Today's trip is his distance and he has won on soft ground. The F Foresi stable is operating at a 22% strike rate over the last 14 days. Perhaps more importantly Marie Walhauser takes over for her first ride on Izastep. She claims 3 which will put the horse on bottom weight here. Blinkers are back on and this outsider of a 16 runners field could make the first five places at decent odds.

L'Ienissei has his third outing for the S gouvaze stable which is running at a 14 days strike rate of 20%. The horse finished last on his stable debut in May. The horse's second outing 14 days ago was a big improvement with a fifth of 14 at Deauville, not beaten far in a typical French blanket finish. The good to soft going appeared to suit on that occasion. Based on prize money, today's contest looks like a drop in class and, with Morgane Tevels taking over in the saddle and claiming 6, L'Ienissei has to be a threat here.

The betting suggests that this is an open contest, so I will go for the outsider Alfa Moonstone. That this filly is joint top weight tells us all we need to know about the strength in depth of this race. At least she has won a race, and that came on fast ground. Bath today will be tough with the going firm or, in Bath terms, as hard as a road due to the course not having any watering facilities in the recent heatwave. Alfa Moonstone has led or raced prominently in her last two races and has shown the speed to win at 5 furlongs. She returns from a break and recorded a near career best in these circumstances in May last season. The dam won several sprints and improved with age. Alfa Moonstone has a sister, Girl Magic, who won sprints and achieved a rating 20 pounds better than Alfa Moonstone. By a leading sire in Havana Grey, she could spring a surprise at big odds.
