Habari has his first outing since leaving the ownership of the Aga Khan. More would have been expected from this half-brother to four winners, all of whom have shown a better standard of form. All outings have been over one mile but his dam won over 7 furlongs (from two career outings) and his sire Churchill is from a speedy family so the drop to sprint distance may suit. In front at today's distance on his latest outing in January, Habari has form on Polytrack. New handler Daragh Bourke is in form and travels from Scotland for this.

Not much Ripon form to go on here which makes Cash In interesting. Not every horse likes the severe dips on this straight track but Cash In has gone well here. One year ago the horse placed second here at 50/1, beating a shorter priced stable companion by just over a length. The going then was the same as today's good ground. David Allan knows Ripon well and has chosen to ride Cash In of the two Tim Easterby representatives. With that run here last June being a career best effort it looks like right course, distance, going and time of year. Cash In can get in the first four here at decent odds.

She has shown ability by placing second in a Haydock novice event in July (apparently unfancied at 40/1). Flag Of Love may be a soft ground filly but I can't ignore her at these odds. A speculative tip.

Forever My Prince improved on his final outing of 2024. Returning from a long break 17 days ago, the horse showed even more improvement when placing second at Newmarket, noted running on. Newmarket is a better track than Windsor. Today's distance of 6 furlongs, a sound surface, and a straight track appeared to suit. The stable is going well with a placed runner in a Chantilly Group 2 race yesterday. Forever My Prince looks booked for the places at least.

Big Ned, big price. This may be down to his being pulled up on his sole start in a point (beaten favourite). Perhaps the horse doesn't like fences. If so, he has nothing to worry about here. Looking at his pedigree, there seems no reason why Big Ned cannot put in a decent effort in this longer than average flat race on good going. His sire, Leading Light, was 1-1 at 2.5 miles on the flat on a sound surface, picking up the Gold Cup and also landing the English and Irish St Legers. The dam won a National Hunt Flat race on good ground. The booking of Mr. J L Gleeson, surely a go-to rider in these events, takes the eye.

The horse is a winner over today's distance. Saffie Osborne takes over in the saddle. She did well at York yesterday, winning a Group 3 contest and placing third of 21 in a handicap. With five places on offer, the combination look likely to make the places with stall 1 a possible advantage.

Kodi Lion has recently changed hands for a lot of money for a gelding. New connections clearly anticipate a good season and it has looked like money well spent on the evidence of the latest two outings. Second places at Doncaster and Ascot is good form. Those races were over today's distance and both matched career best efforts achieved last season. Kodi Lion has performed equally well on fast and heavy going. Frederick Larson has his second outing on board Kodi Lion having placed second on the other occasion. The stable saddled a double on Wednesday.
