French Haven's fifth placing in a Class 2 maiden event at Goodwood looks decent in the context of today's Class 5 novice stakes. The filly weakened late on her debut and can do better second time up. There is stamina in her pedigree so the increase in distance to 7.5 furlongs and uphill finish can suit French Haven who is trained on the Middleham Moor gradients. Her dam, who landed both her victories on right-handed tracks, is from a good family which has produced classy types. The stable saddled a double yesterday.

He was not quite so good eight days ago over today's trip but the ground was soft. Back on good going he can get in the mix for a stable/jockey combination who are going well.

Three year old Reveiller is from a good family. Going back through the dam line one arrives at Group 1 winner Al Hareb. Reveiller's own dam was useful, placing second in an Ascot Listed event, and showing her best form in the autumn of her three year old season. The handicapper has made Reveiller pay for scoring first time out, winning a five furlongs sprint by three lengths. The recent stable debut was too bad to be true and there should be better to come from this horse on only his seventh outing. Reveiller has dropped eleven pounds in the weights and is now with the shrewd trainer Julie Camacho who had an outsider placed on Monday. A hood and eyeshield are fitted which may bring improvement. Tom Kiely-Marshall has been going well recently and takes over in the saddle with his seven pounds allowance looking useful in this point and go race. Reveiller drops in class and has a win under his belt on today's forecast good to firm going so is given an outside chance at big odds.

Foreseeable Future makes the long journey from North Yorkshire for a stable which has saddled recent winners. Mrs Carr seldom ventures to Bath. James Sullivan has picked up two spare rides but, being a lightweight jockey, this is the one he is here for. Foreseeable Future placed second behind Delagate This Lord in this event last season. Foreseeable Future is thirteen pounds better off with that rival today. Although out of the weights following a plummeting mark, Foreseeable Future showed he is no back number with a couple of second placings this summer. A winner on fast ground and with give, today's going should suit. Following last year's good effort here, today's race has been the target and Foreseeable Future can go close.

Racing near side, drawn 22 of 22, he had little chance with the first five home being drawn on the other side of the track. Previously he proved his effectiveness on today's forecast good going at Ascot (career best) and, elsewhere, over 6 furlongs. Today's 5.5 furlongs trip should see Holkham Bay running on at the finish. The horse has performed well on flat, galloping tracks. His record in fields of 20+ runners is 2210. The stable has saddled two winners in the previous five days.

South Parade has been a big improver on her latest two outings. It's the right time of the year for improving fillies and there may be more to come. She goes well on a sound surface and the straight track should have dried out to good by the time of this race (currently good, good to soft in places). South Parade took the step up to Class 4 level in her stride last time with a narrowly beaten third place at Newcastle. That followed an excellent win in a Thirsk sprint on turf where she won going away. The in-form Tommie Jakes takes over in the saddle. His five pounds allowance will come in useful in this point and go race, especially if recent prominent tactics are used.

That good run was the only occasion this filly had tried today's distance of 12 furlongs. Lightly raced, this is the time of year when some fillies improve. As a daughter of Adlerflug, today's test on soft going should suit and Global Queen can get in the places.

Bellagio Man has scored twice over today's course and distance. His three all-weather victories have all been on Tapeta. Bellagio Man was going well in September last season with a victory here. He is eight pounds lower in the weights today compared to that race. Alex Jary takes over in the saddle. His five pounds allowance will come in useful in this point and go race. The horse carried 10-0 when winning here last year. He will shoulder 9-1 today. The stable/jockey combination had first and second placed runners in Tapeta handicaps on Thursday. Both horses ran better than their ratings suggested they would. Bellagio Man can get in the frame here.

It's been more than eight years since Redrosezorro wore blinkers but they are back on today. This veteran of 83 races has scored several times at Catterick and is certainly weighted to go well. Eleven pounds lower in the weights compared to his victory here in May, Redrosezorro has been racing mainly on fast ground but the conditions may have come right for him. The horse has scored here before on soft ground in the autumn and is given an each way chance.

A virtually straight mile with a stiff finish. Gloucestershire has recorded his best run on the 10 furlongs Newmarket July course of which the last mile is straight, rising in the last furlong. Salisbury should suit. That good run came on a sound surface but the horse's only race at Salisbury was on good to soft ground and the performance was only three pounds below his best. Any forecast showers should not be a problem. With victories over 11 and 12 furlongs, stamina is assured. Gloucestershire returns from a break having scored twice when fresh. Tom Marquand is booked and this looks a positive move. He rode a double yesterday.

He makes the long journey fron Scotland for a trainer who has four entries at Newcastle but only one here at Southwell. With a record of 23 at Southwell, including in a Class 4 event in January off a mark of 75, it is difficult to ignore the horse in this Class 5 race of an official rating of 69. Both his all-weather wins have been over today's distance of 7 furlongs on Tapeta. Gobi Sunset is, however, an infrequent winner so I will go each way.

An average Polytrack claimer with little winning form on show. That it has attracted the powerful Graffard/Barzalona trainer/jockey combination is a positive pointer for a good run. Beaten favourite on her sole outing when unplaced in a turf maiden under Marie Velon, two year old filly Ceres can make the frame here down in class. Out of a dam who scored over 5 and 7 furlongs in her two year old season, today's trip of 6.5 furlongs looks suitable and there should be better to come.

That was in a 0-55 event run over one mile and he may be better suited dropping to 7 furlongs today in this 0-52 race. More recently he was badly in at the weights in a Classified Stakes and had little chance. This eleven year old has shown he is no back number and can make his presence felt in today's low grade event on ground which suits. Millie Wonnacott claims a useful five pounds allowance in this point and go race.

Peachey Carnehan is not the force of old but won't have to be to land this low grade event. The ten year old has at least got his head in front once this season. He recorded his best turf effort for 11 nonths in June over today's course and distance when placing third, not beaten far, running on. One pound lower on official ratings today, he carries the same weight on similar going. With the jockey at Chepstow, Charlie Bennett, regaining the ride, Peachey Carnehan can go close.

Duchamps Art has had two outings for her new stable. On the first occasion she fell at the last flight when in contention in a race run over 20.5 furlongs. Down in distance next time, the filly was not fluent on the Kilbeggan undulations on an easy surface. She can do better today back up in trip to two and a half miles on good going on this flat track with long straights. Duchamps Art is lightly raced and there should be more to come. Out of a winning dam, she is from a family which has produced lots of winners and is, herself, half-sister to winning hurdler Morricone who has achieved a much higher level of form. Duchamps Art can make the frame.
