Jockey Jack Quinlan gets off Ali Star Bert, on whom he would be going for a hat-trick of wins, to ride Sporting Ace. Not too surprising, as he rode the horse to victory in this event last season. Sporting Ace is one pound lower in the weights today compared to last year but carries the same weight, 10-8. He came into the race last year off unplaced efforts and has had a similar preparation this time. With course, distance, and going suiting, Sporting Ace can go well again.
