Larzac has come to Willie Mullins' stable after a very good run in France on heavy ground over hurdles and was well fancied at the time. At this point, Mr. Mullins has 11 entered in this race, so that tells me he doesn't have a standout. But with limited form, he is throwing the kitchen sink at this race. It's a punt, but I have read this one is good at home.

In-form trainer Ben Pauling has entered three in this race, and one of them, Meetmebythesea, is one of the more fancied runners. But I think It's Hard to Know is a far better proposition. His last run must be taken with a pinch of salt, as they say! The trainer must have known his last race was not winnable unless he was a superstar, whereas today he has a serious chance. Meetmebythesea just got home last time with a few pounds in hand and is trading at 3s. Our boy is 16s, which I think is overpriced and worth taking.

Screwing the punters, but who can blame connections when the prize money for the winner of this race barely covers the monthly training fees? Bookies make millions from this sport. The 365 owner is the highest earner in Britain apart from the king, supporting the armed forces by charging them to use their land even when they don't anymore.
