N Orn Iron hasn't delivered on promise as yet but was backed to do so last time to the tune of 11/8 fav. The jockey had him in a stranglehold most of the way, then managed to find a wall of horses to run into, but ran on best once racing properly late on. Finished fast to be fourth. A combination of the extra few furlongs and a jockey change might do the job today.

Needed the debut but then won cosily at Newcastle, then took the penalty here and won more cosily. Looks ahead of the game at this moment.

However, Knockanore tried a distance beyond 3 miles for the first time last time and stepped up to class 2 for the first time and beat 16 rivals too - over 4 miles. That's a huge improvement, and it can be assumed it was due to the radical step up to the distance.

Jilaijone might be able to defy top weight as he is improving to this mark and had previously fallen from 125 to 117 after a few places. But the good ground seems to have livened him up, and he won well two back over this CD class 4. He then ran even better in defeat at Ascot in a large field (a7). Possibly the combination of an eight-pound rise and a first go at a staying trip caught him out. Now back to the CD of the victory on good ground again.
