Mount Frisco loves mud and is in good form, having just won over hurdles as well as fences. Last race may have come too quick (week) when taking on higher-rated horses, but still finished a close third. This looks more his level and he can get involved.

Villa have dropped the ball in the Premier League and European games are taking their toll. Not long ago they were fancied to take Arsenal all the way, but injuries and contract obligations have seen some substandard sides take the field, and the price has been paid. West Ham were falling like a stone before a revival and optimism, but have still only won 2 of their last 6 and are now in the drop zone. Villa had another game on Thursday, and West Ham are likely to come at them with aggression and use their momentum to get a priceless away win.

Marry The Night is on a hat-trick and looks sure to get involved. He just keeps it simple but the handicapper is getting closer. Could pay to get on American State who is far less exposed. He has recently changed stables and, following a wind op, won well last time over CD. The distance was only a head but the runner-up was Mr Nugget, who had a few wins on the board already. That was only a third AW race, so there should be more to come.

Goldmoyne is on a roll and has won four on the run, raising the rating from 70 to 81. That may be the undoing, as all the best runs have been on Tapeta. One run on Poly saw an unpaced performance. Maximising has failed on Tapeta and the only win was on Poly over CD three races ago. He would likely be carrying a bit more weight here, but had two poor runs since due to managing to find a lot of trouble in both races and ran on late. A conventional ride here can bring a repeat of the last win here.
