Pocklington seemed to be signaling his time was close last time. Won a couple last year and has shown up well in good races this year, most notably when running on 3rd of 20 at York last time in a fast time. The form is solid given the company in that race.

Back In Black won well two races back in Class 2 and was eased at the finish and still 2L clear. Took the penalty to Goodwood in a more valuable race than this, but things were stacked against him once a poor start and running out of room mid-race had done their damage. Still ran on well to be 3L 5th of 12. Has run well with give in the ground and has only two races on the clock this season. Can stay out of trouble from such a high draw.

Ten Bob Tony had a couple of wins last season, then failed in 4 subsequent runs, albeit in high company. Made a seasonal bow recently and, despite a 10-month absence, went straight to a Group 2 and won. Only won by a head but had the likes of Kinross behind and will strip fitter now. Goes in good or soft and, with only one run this season, will be fresher than all here.

Spirit Mixer ran well at York last time to be 7th of 13 with Artisan Dancer ahead in 2nd. There's a couple of pounds pull here, but more importantly, Spirit Mixer has CD form here and won't mind softened ground. If held on to this time, it can make it tell in the home straight.

Air Force One won a big field handicap (19 runners at York), then was 3rd of 20 with a penalty. Only ran 4 days ago when an unlucky 2nd of 12 at York after being forced to wait late in the race, then getting within a neck of the eventual winner who was on a hat trick. Significantly, wears first-time blinkers here. Was 3rd behind Trefor the time before last when closing fast. Could be RFC material.

The win was easy, and she looked unlucky to come second with the penalty, being denied a run more than once late but still getting up for 2nd. The inexperienced jockey seems to get along with her (on both times), and that experience here should have taught him something about strategic placing throughout a Chester 7f race.

Has won all three races since debut over 7f, so this extended 6 will be ideal and has shown winning form with rain in the ground. She's run against better company than her rivals and beat them to earn top weight.

She won her last race (which none of the 24 in opposition did) on an artificial surface but has run well on turf on good or soft ground, and the win was coming (was third the race before).
