Sarab Star made a winning seasonal bow last time after a year off and looks improved and is lightly raced. However, that win was on Polytrack and this is soft turf, a class higher, so looks a little short for what's been achieved. Arctic Thunder was competing at a higher level last season and won one at Ascot for a £23,000 prize. Has failed to win since and looked like a 'nearly' horse, always competing well. This represents a slight step back in class and best chance so far this season.

Just Typical might be good enough, having won really well two races ago. Then, only a week later, looking a shade unlucky to defy a penalty at Newmarket to be beaten by two rated in the 70s. Arkenstars is on fire lately and can get involved again, but another penalty here might be a little too much to get another win.

In the middle was a run on this surface in class 4, and that was a decent enough win. Here she is back down to that level and on the surface she seemingly prefers, so she can regain the winning thread.

A lot of these will probably need what is their first run for a while, but Tutti Quanti showed last year he can go well (and win) when fresh for his then new trainer Paul Nichols. He won well at Ffos Las and after a couple of average follow-ups, won there again on his final run of the season at long odds on and winning an eased 13 lengths. That confirmed the horse's well-being and that he didn't belong in class 4 any longer. Gets a chance to confirm it again now.

Crazee Icon went off at 25/1 plus on his first three runs and did little. She then had a handicap debut at Chester and went off favourite despite the poor form and was only beaten a head at Chester. Crucially, made a bad start but knuckled down to finish well. This course isn't so demanding and can get the win.

Belgravian has done the yard proud this season with wins and places. Had a nice prep for this in the trial and was third behind Reverand Hubert. Ran under par then and came too late, or possibly had this race in mind to peak in. Hence, happy to take that winner back on over CD and reverse that 8-length beating. Andrew Balding has some good stayers at home to mark against.

It was a three-runner muddling race on an artificial surface that still managed to include barging and switching in its description. The race before was turf (Bev), and he made short work of 6 rivals by over 6 lengths. That was soft ground and a third win. The handicapper's got stuck in with 10 pounds more here, but given the improvement and consistency on turf and the ease of that win, it's probable that the penalty can be defied.
