Ted's Corner, overnight favourite, had shown nothing in five runs at large prices but was then sent off favourite despite the poor runs. Amateur ridden, ran on to be 3rd of 15 in Musselburgh and a similar run here would see him involved for the gambling yard. Possible clues to yard's intent in the market. That said, YourSimplyTheBest has more promising credentials. After four poor runs at poor odds he was then put in a handicap in the mud and was a running-on third of 11. The promise continued last time when finishing late and better over half a mile less than this in mud over CD. Jordan Gainford is a talented jockey on the rise and rides again.

Sub Thirteen has good form figures on turf but is 2 from 2 on AW tracks. 7-year-old Gustav Graves ran well enough to place here last time but had a younger (3) Invincible Crown finishing well hand over fist after making a mess of the start and having to lose ground all the way by circling wide. They obviously fancy the rematch.

A couple of penalties for winning and three races all happened in a short amount of time on heavy ground for El Bandido Picho, and his last run was a second to an improver. Has had a couple of weeks off now and is only three pounds higher, so can resume winning ways. Ferret Jester too has improved recently but has yet to show it on heavy ground.

Jack Tudor relishes these types of marathon tests on chasers and has a very good strike rate for various trainers. He has a fine chance here on Mr Vango. The ground was soft both times. He has won before following long breaks.

Red Cadillac seemed to improve with the softening ground last time and won a duel on the run-in to prevail by a head. This coincides with the yard's improved form of late. While he had to fight to win last time, he beat a handful of horses rated over 100, so the penalty taking his mark up to 98 isn't bad.

Studios won at Newcastle last time well enough, but it had taken a string of below-average runs to drop the mark from 77 to 68 to achieve it. I'm not confident of a follow-up given that he incurs a 6-pound penalty that takes him above his winning mark by 6 pounds again. Tonal, on the other hand, has won the last two and the mark on the AW is going steadily up, and that's more progressive. Plus he's won on another Polytrack surface. Claimer's claim keeps him still on a winnable mark.

Could be an interesting clash between two recent improvers. Flash Rascal had disappointed in a couple of turf runs but was then gelded and had a wind op. He then disappointed again in two more. Abandoned turf last time to win at Chelmsford (stewards accepted the surface as the reason for improvement). Likely to improve now on AW tracks but still looks a little slow. American Flight has enjoyed switching to artificial surfaces too and is now going for the hat trick. Won a muddy three-runner at Newcastle last time but won well here C&D before. Seemed to be suited by the configuration here, and that swings it for me.
