Showering was 7th in a Shergar Cup race last time, but it was possibly a step too high. Plus, the jockey hadn't ridden in this country or that competition before, so it's not a reliable reading. The race before saw Showering win over this CD well enough.

Chillhi has won under both codes recently and last time over hurdles won at Uttoxeter. Didn't run as though in love with the course and made a couple of errors and lost concentration. Was going away at the line nonetheless, and this very straightforward track should suit better. Runner-up behind him last time won since.

Tabletalk hasn't won for a while but has been placed in some high-grade races. Looked good last time when almost upsetting favorite Al Qareem. That one would be a short odds favorite here. That was a step up to 1m 6f after three shorter races, and the top-rated favorite can take this.

Head For Freedom is the most experienced but without a victory. However, did finish well last time to be denied in a photo when turning to AW (Southwell). That level can prevail here. Brimfull Of Attitude has only three runs, but figures of -331 tell of progression. However, hasn't run on any synthetic surfaces as yet, and the jockey lacks experience.

Since then, has tried shorter distances (1m - 1m 2f) off the resultant low mark and came good last time at Hamilton, beating Temper Trap. That one was rated 10 pounds superior and went in again this week, so the form looks reliable even if this isn't turf. Has run well enough on AW before.

The competition at the head of the market have been finishing second after setting or sitting on the pace only to get nabbed. The selection will like that as he likes to close in late and challenge.

Two of these won last time out and can fight this out. Both were stepping up to a mile to end a losing run. Of the two, Amidst The Chaos ran in marginally better company to win in a photo finish. The other, Marry The Night, won by a length and is trained by a yard who do well here, as well as a jockey. The clincher, in my opinion, is that Marry The Night is receiving 9 pounds.

Sophisticate has been favorite 3 of his last 4 runs without winning in this low grade and doesn't look reliable. Has only won 3 races out of 38. Maybe a longer distance may suit as the late finishes aren't being seen out. Naughty Niall would seem to have more scope at 4 years old. Won two races ago and took the penalty to Leicester and was a running on third beaten a neck. Headgear was tried but is left off again here. Looks as though these extra two furlongs will suit.

Two things favored him that day: his mark had crashed from 55 to 46, and front-running tactics were employed. The win was a snug 2L. Joe Fanning is an experienced jockey known for pace setting, and that looks significant. Has to be decent EW value if all 8 go.
