I put up Squealer here at the last meeting only for it to get pulled out. Loves this track, unlike me, and gets a low draw, which was better here last time. Nicely weighted and stable; okay now. Reported a no-show at Thirsk recently, but it wasn't knocked about after a sluggish start, so can only improve.

This ground is unknown, but he sticks the blinkers on, which shows some intent, I think. Market guide may help.

I think there's one not to be sniffed at here in this Calor Gas Handicap in Big Island with what could be a good jockey booking in Danny Mullins. It was going nicely until the mob hassled it on the down run where it fell, but the race was maybe too far. They drop it back today, so I expect a front-end attack from the off.

Last year's winner and some who finished behind came from mostly high draws, so that doesn't put me off Staywithjohnny, ridden by the top lad D. McGonagall here. It was last seen powering home under this same jockey. Although still a maiden, that looks surely to be righted soon. EW is the shout because there's plenty of forgotten ones in here that could pop up.

It runs its best races at the back end of the season but has come to hand quickly when tried this time of year. Last time, when heavily restrained to get in last place, it looked odd to me and didn't get entirely involved. So with a different apprentice up, under Amy Waugh, I'll try the 4-place market.
