In what looks like a little dreadful bunch, I'm drawn to the top weight and class dropper and distance dropper, Sea Legend, which couldn't get home over those longer trips. It did come through the pack to show its face at this distance before fading. May place or more.

Tim Easterby won this last year with Financer, which is over 20lb higher this time. So I'm trying Austrian Theory. Ran on here from last position over a mile last year at this meeting and was the best finisher that day. Gets the extra yardage here, so if the course awakens, it's a good each way maybe within reach off that same mark roughly.

Jim Goldie throws the darts, and out of them I've landed on Dandy Magic, which was ridden suspiciously on its comeback run by Mulrennan. Steady through the race, he made a token effort at the end. Out of Dandy Man, it will love the ground and is nicely drawn in 5. The handicap rating has kindly dropped 2lb and gets another 7lb with Lauren Young's claim, so it looks overpriced to me.

Primoz looks like the one that should take this under D. Fox now it's back in an easier class. It is a CD winner and also had a wind operation. Although it looks like a sighter for maybe something else, they will be disappointed if it doesn't go in.

Elegant Erin is still holding its form well and is back for another CD win off a good mark under David Nolan. This is its course and time of year. It recently tried the Bullet here and wasn't disgraced in that higher class. EW

I don't think Facethepuckout is really out of this. Shuffled out of it on the bend, it made stealthy headway throughout the last two furlongs, finishing best of all. The return to the mile looks in its favor now under Colin Keane. Overpriced in my opinion.

Don't punt on many David O'Meara horses much as I've been let down so many times. But I'll give Lord Bertie a blast here now it's got its ground and more so it's down in class and distance. They bizarrely hold this headstrong one up till it's burnt out, but its wins have come when it's been up there. Hope this apprentice lets it go today.
