Last year's winner and some who finished behind came from mostly high draws, so that doesn't put me off Staywithjohnny, ridden by the top lad D. McGonagall here. It was last seen powering home under this same jockey. Although still a maiden, that looks surely to be righted soon. EW is the shout because there's plenty of forgotten ones in here that could pop up.

Plenty of course winds here. I'll try our good each-way on Redarna, ridden by Paul Mulrennan. It's tried in competitive races this year. First, held up and came nowhere. Second, on the front and then faded??"nowhere. This is a drop in class. Is it going to be another Swanson at Ayr?

Jim Goldie throws three at this, but I'll try his outsider Ayr Poet, which is not normally out of its nest. It runs its best races at the back end of the season but has come to hand quickly when tried this time of year. Last time, when heavily restrained to get in last place, it looked odd to me and didn't get entirely involved. So with a different apprentice up, under Amy Waugh, I'll try the 4-place market.

It was last seen at Dundalk in the van before coming home eased after fading. Now off its lowest mark and with the aid of 7 lb claimer J. Cleary back at Cork, it looks interesting.

Something about Banksman here who was with the Channon yard and sometimes pops up for S. West. A former CD winner, it's tried distances and hurdles to no avail. Nicely weighted with Eddie Greaterex up, back down to the 7f here. Very interesting.
