Montezuma is still a maiden, but that's surely not for long after last week's unlucky performance under the stable's apprentice. Paul Mulrennan is now on top and should steer this home. It had a horrid run, swerving left and right looking for a gap and duly powered home, but the winner had flown.

These fences are not what they used to be, so stick with a good stayer that likes to be up there, hopefully avoiding carnage.

A very odd run last time at Warwick where Good Girl Kathleen's previous winning run went out the window. She was held up that day and looked to stumble 3 out before the leading pack motored away off the bend, and she was pulled up, going nowhere. Canny trainer Emmett Mullins surely wouldn't run her if things were not right, so I'm in with this being his only runner here today. The flat track and better going should all suit. D. Myler keeps the ride; it's his only ride also.

In a race which over the last few years looks to have been farmed by O'Shea and they run three this time, I've plumbed for one that came fifth last year when getting up there on the last but didn't have the sprint for the line. I think it now has a jockey upgrade, and if in front over the last it might just see it out. A very lightly raced, consistent type each-way.
