13:30 Jakub Mensik vs Alexander Zverev

Jakub Mensik

Win Match

Mensik is the valuable choice in this semifinal. The Czech adjusted his game to the clay nearly perfectly, and he dismantled J. Fonseca 3-0. Zverev is the clear favorite, but he will be under huge pressure. I back Mensik to win.

This match finishing in straight sets would be a huge surprise. Zverev dropped just one set so far, but Mensik already upset Fonseca and Rublev. Let's not forget that he beat De Minaur and Norrie prior to that. Zverev won the sole previous match between them in three tight sets in Rome this year, but now I see a win for the Czech in four sets.

I think the first set will be tight. Arnaldi will be fully into it as he needs to win this one as fast as he can, after the last two matches in which he played ten sets in total. Berrettini will not be in a rush and will be calmer, so I back Berrettini to win the first set.

This is an all-Italian clash, and I give full credit to the more experienced Berrettini. It is true that Arnaldi is playing the best tennis of his life, but he played two five-set matches in a row, and in my opinion he is out of fuel. I take Berrettini to cover.

This match looks like a close one, and I agree with that. At the same time, Auger-Aliassime has been shaky so far; the Canadian dropped a set in all of his matches except the last one. Cobolli has dropped only one set so far, and I take the Italian to win the first set.

Tamara Zidansek

Both players used to play at a higher level, but now we are seeing them at lower-level events. Hercog is lower ranked at the moment, and she is trailing 0-3 in their direct encounters. I think that will give Zidansek confidence, and she will start on a flyer.

I think I'll take my chances with Zachary today. Cobolli is the favorite on paper, but he is in the kind of form where he has nothing to lose. He has proved himself capable of beating clay-court specialists like F. Cerúndolo, and I back Svajda to win.

I do not see Mensik as an outsider here. Rublev did beat Buse, Caraelli, and Borges, but he looks far from impressive in those clashes. Mensik won the marathon against Navone, and after 0-6 in the first set he won 6-2, 6-2, 6-3 against De Minaur. The odds here should be even at worst, and I take the Czech to win.

Felix Auger Aliassime

This bet is looking more than juicy, in my opinion. Nakashima is having a career record of 45/40 W/L on clay, against 132/75 W/L on clay for the Canadian. Nakashima is just one year younger, so it is a relevant comparison. Nakashima's best career ranking is No. 29, and at the moment Auger-Aliassime is No. 6. The Canadian won the sole previous match between them, and I back Auger-Aliassime to win.

I think the Canadian has a huge edge over the American. Nakashima is not bad at all, but clay is not his usual hunting ground. The player who uses more topspin in his shots and is more resilient in the longer rallies is Auger??'Aliassime, and I back him to cover the handicap.

Fonseca likes clay the most. He has a huge first serve and can hit winners from any side of the court with his forehand. Djokovic is the most successful player of all time, and I think he will handle the Brazilian's serve well. That will give him enough edge to win the match in my opinion.

I do not give any chances to the Argentinean. He has been in superb form this year with a 19/9 W/L, but lately he faded. Even though he won his opening match, he looks far from the level of Auger-Aliassime. The Canadian is a top-10 player, and he survived in five sets against D. Altmaier. I back Auger-Aliassime to win.

Both players went through the qualifications, with the difference that De Jong is a lucky loser. Still, Cina struggled a lot against R. Opelka, who is far from competitive on clay and also in moderate shape. De Jong beat Wawrinka, and I think he can win this one.

This will be a match of exhausting and long rallies. The weather will be hot, and it will be hard for Landaluce to finish points quickly. Prado Angelo has an average serve but excellent footwork. I think the American can bring another huge upset, just like Carreño Busta did. Popyrin is 8/14 W/L this season and, for sure, he looks vulnerable. Svajda's game is more suited to the faster courts, but he can start hitting winners and push Popyrin to the wall.

I rate Vallejo highly when it comes to clay. He loves the surface and, more importantly, he is in top form, racking up a 29/9 W/L on clay this season. Norrie, on the other hand, is more experienced and not in bad shape. I see a close match with both players winning a set, but the win will be in four for Cameron.

I think in this one the Chinese player is the one that deserves the credit of trust. Giron's career record on clay is 45/55 W/L and he won just three of his last ten matches. Wu is 8/2 W/L in his last ten matches and his career record on clay is 40/23 W/L. I think Wu will win, but I do not see that happening in straight sets, so I take Wu in four.

I think here we can see an upset. Rodionov is modest overall, but he played three matches in the qualifications and won all of them in straight sets.
