Tim Easterby's horses have been running well all this season, and he can have another winner here with his front-runner Miss Hathaway, who enjoyed the second win of her fifteen-race career by making all at Nottingham a month ago when dropping into today's class five company for the first time. Her only other win came over today's C&D in April off a two lb lower mark than the one of 74 she carries today. I think there is a good chance against today's opponents that she can get a soft lead and repeat that success.

I have lost track of the number of trainers El Bello has had over the years, but here he is having his second run for Raymond Hurley following his move from Denis Hogan, for whom he had his third and latest win over seven furlongs at Dundalk last year. On his latest outing over a mile at Sligo over a mile and two furlongs ten days ago, he never really got into the race and finished eighth. He gets in here off the handy mark of 61 minus young Taylor Kingsley's seven lb claim. I think he is worth another chance here.

David O'Meara's horses have really begun to hit form in the last few weeks, and his dual C&D winner Riot gets in here off a ten lb lower mark than when winning over this C&D. The eight-year-old ran well when staying on well despite being hampered before having his run blocked close home in a grade higher race at York last month, and you can ignore his last run on unsuitably soft ground at Yarmouth last month. That good form can continue here with Lieber Power, who hit form in the middle of last summer, winning a Racing League race at Chepstow before finishing just a neck behind Night Breeze in this race. The pair meet again this evening with the Balding gelding 18 lbs better off in the weights. David O'Meara's eight-year-old C&D winner Aberama Gold won his thirteenth race last month at York. Then a wide draw scuppered his chance of following up next out at Newmarket. His latest run came on the all-weather at Wolverhampton and, while he does have three wins on that surface, his strike rate on it is not quite as good as it is on turf. Hamilton is a course that tends to favour those who race prominently, which should suit his front-running style. He remains in good form and is only a lb higher than he was for his win last month.

Since then, he has passed through the hands of Kerry Lee before arriving at his current stable, for whom he has had just the one run, finishing sixth of the seven runners at Newcastle eleven days ago, where he was given a very easy time. The seven-year-old remains unexposed on the flat and is making his turf handicap debut here today. This is only his sixth run on the level, so he could have more to come.
