Twelve months ago Eve Johnson Houghton’s Havana Hurricane won the Windsor Castle Stakes at this meeting. He made a decent seasonal debut when finishing third, about two and a half lengths behind the winner in a Listed race at Newbury last month, and should come on for that run. He is a huge price and looks a great each-way bet to me.

Currently trained by James Barcoe, Half Nutz has been through many yards since the last of his six career wins over a seven-furlong trip at the Curragh back in 2022, while still an inmate of the Johnny Murtagh stable. Following that win, he was raised nine lbs by the handicapper to a career-high mark of 85. He gets in here off the low mark of 40, minus the ten-pound claim of today's jockey, who has been on board for his last three outings when he has run quite well. With five places being paid here, I think he could be worth a small each-way bet in the hope that he retains some of his old ability.

Dylan Cunha's Arc Ole Ole has won his last three starts. On his seasonal/handicap debut over a mile and a quarter at Doncaster in March, he looked like he would appreciate stepping up in trip. That proved to be the case when he was a comfortable two-and three-quarter-length winner at York 35 days ago in his first start over a mile and a half. He got a hefty ten-pound rise from the handicapper for that win, but I don't think that gets to the bottom of him. I believe he can get the four-timer today.

Saeed bin Suroor has a more scaled-down operation these days, but he still has, with five winners from seventeen runners, a very good strike rate of 29%. He was beaten when favourite next time out at Leicester, and drops back to the minimum trip here with a hood on, and he’s a massive price at 33/1.

Off a three lb lower mark at 18/1, he looks a sound each-way bet here.
