Jim Bolger, who by his standards is having a really bad start to the season, can get off the mark here with his filly Dreoilin. After staying on well in a six-furlong maiden here on her seasonal debut 34 days ago, she was unlucky to bump into the remarkably well-handicapped Servare, who beat her by seven lengths over a mile and a quarter at Navan about three weeks ago. Today's mile trip looks ideal for her.

Seamus Mullins has his string running well, as demonstrated by his 20% strike rate in the last two weeks. He is represented here by handicap debutant Chartwell Jock, who won four times on the flat for Andrew Balding but has yet to trouble the judge over timber. The four-year-old ran against some good horses in his three qualifying runs and is now dropped several grades for his handicap bow. He should go very close today.

Emma Lavelle does really well with her staying hurdlers. Today she runs Bethpage in the valuable BetGoodwin Sussex Stayers' Handicap Hurdle. Bethpage looked in need of the run when nearly thirty lengths behind the winner when third over two miles and five furlongs at Ascot three weeks ago. She will be much better suited stepping up in distance to three miles one furlong here. With Harry Cobden, who won on her at Stratford last year on the only previous occasion he rode her, back on board here she has a great chance.

The Dominic Ffrench Davis yard is in great form at the moment. He had a couple of winners here yesterday and can continue his good run here with The Golden Snitch, who ran a lot better than his odds of 100/1 suggested when finishing fourth on his racecourse debut in a seven-furlong Doncaster novice race nineteen days ago. That day he had one of the favourites here, King Of Earth, finish less than two lengths ahead of him in second place. The way The Golden Snitch was finishing there suggested that today's mile trip will suit him better. At about 20/1, I think he is a great each-way bet here.

That day she drifted in the betting from an early 9/2 out to a starting price of 12/1 before putting up a great show when battling to second place, just a neck behind the Andrew Balding-trained hot-pot, Nanoscience. Although he hasn't won in any of his three starts since, he showed a bit of promise when finishing third over a mile at Meydan 76 days ago. Today he is represented by Bourbon Blues, who was beaten only a head into second in a Group Three at Chantilly by the Charlie Appleby-trained Al Zanati in November. That day he finished two and a half lengths in front of the Appleby-trained Pacifica Pier. Prior to that run he had gone down by a similar margin in a mile and two-furlong nursery here in October before being awarded the race in the stewards' room. So he stays the trip and acts on the track. I think he is a good each-way bet here at 22/1.
