Charlie Johnston’s Epsom runner-up Lazy Griff can win this year's renewal of the Irish Derby at the Curragh this afternoon. Lambourn, who beat him at both Epsom and Chester, is not 100% sure to be able to replicate that form here at the Curragh, where he finished last of the five runners the last time he ran here in September. I think an E.W. bet on Lazy Griff is much better value than taking the odds on the favourite.

Michael Blake's mare, Under The Twilight, returned from a break with a promising run over seven furlongs at Doncaster in March, where she finished a close third. She came in for a bit of support when dropped to this distance at Newbury last time and ran better than the result suggests, as she had to make her challenge away from where the main action took place. She gets in here off a nine lb lower mark than she carried when winning over this C&D in April last year and can take advantage now, dropping into the weakest race she’s run in this year.
