Once an inmate of the Dan Skelton yard, now trained by James Moffatt, Book of Secrets, to put it mildly, has not fulfilled his early potential. Now eight, he has only won one of his eighteen starts over hurdles, that coming in a Market Rasen maiden back in 2023 while he was with the Charles & Adam Pogson stable. Recently he has shown signs of life, particularly two runs back when, only going down by a head in a two-mile handicap at Newton Abbot, he followed that with a seventh-place finish at Carlisle in December. He gets in here today off the low mark of 107, minus Leah Noreci's 10 lb claim. Although very unreliable, with only four places being paid, he may be worth a few quid each way here.

Today's extended two-mile five-furlong trip could prove ideal, with cheekpieces fitted for the first time. He is certainly an each-way bet for me.

This evening in this amateur handicap she also has the eye-catching booking of Serena Brotherton on board.
