The horse is in great nick, as shown by its fourth-place finish in the Irish Gold Cup last time out. It will take a bit to get Grey Dawning back to its best after a poor effort last time out. The Skelton yard are a top yard and they have the ability to do just that. It is too good a horse to write off, especially when you look back to its fine 2nd place behind Gaelic Warrior in a Class 1 Grade 1 race at Aintree and its win in the same grade back in November. Its last run was poor by comparison, where its jumping lacked fluidity.
