After riding L'Homme Pressé to a win last time out, Jack Kennedy switches to Firefox for this race. The horse is in great nick, as shown by its fourth-place finish in the Irish Gold Cup last time out. It ran its best race for a while, rating-wise, in that race and may be able to grab another place in this race while in such good heart.

It will take a bit to get Grey Dawning back to its best after a poor effort last time out. The Skelton yard are a top yard and they have the ability to do just that. It is too good a horse to write off, especially when you look back to its fine 2nd place behind Gaelic Warrior in a Class 1 Grade 1 race at Aintree and its win in the same grade back in November. Its last run was poor by comparison, where its jumping lacked fluidity.

It is interesting to me that Sean Bowen has chosen to ride The Price of Peace when Olly Murphy has a horse with a seemingly better chance of winning this race. The horse was well beaten behind Thedevilyouknow but was an 8/1 shot for that race. The horse won the race before that on quicker ground, so maybe the quicker ground at Cheltenham will see it run a lot better and place at big odds. That may be the stable's thinking; otherwise they would not re-oppose.

My Daddypaddy comes from the top Skelton yard and has already won 3 of its 4 races. It was the favourite for this race before running 2nd last time out. That defeat was at Aintree, and the thinking is that Cheltenham will suit the horse much more than that track. It is now a much bigger price than it would have been if it had won that last race, and it now looks good value for a place.
