Had done all his racing at around two miles and been sent off at triple-figure odds on each of his first three starts. Having shown a bit more at Southwell two starts ago, he was sent up in trip for his handicap debut here last time. He was quite well supported in the market but was eventually pulled up, seemingly unsuited by the very testing conditions. He drops back to two miles here from the same handicap mark and can hopefully build on that previous effort racing on better ground.

Having not shown a great deal in a couple of bumpers or on her debut over hurdles, there was more to take from her latest effort: a 5th-place finish over this sort of trip at Newcastle last time. A longer trip would probably be ideal; she may get that when going down the handicap route. In the meantime, she could sneak into the frame at decent odds.

Ran his best race over hurdles at Carlisle two starts ago when finishing 4th, but was given an awful lot to do over the 17f trip on that occasion. He didn’t really get the chance to build on that at Naas last time when badly hampered late on and not given a hard time thereafter. Hopefully he’ll get more luck here on handicap debut, going up in trip, and if so will go close.

There was more to take from her run at Chepstow two starts ago when she finished a respectable 4th of 16 in a two-mile novice. She made her handicap debut at Wincanton last time but unseated three out when still in with some chance, albeit starting to come under pressure. She goes up in distance now, which should suit, and while the yard's poor form is a worry, she’s still well worth a second look.

Made a promising rules debut at Cheltenham on New Year's Day, finishing 4th in a reasonable Class 2 event over 20f. Was staying on nicely then. Whilst he finished last of three at Hereford two starts ago, he seemed to find the trip on the short side but ran poorly over a longer trip on his handicap debut last time at Taunton. Connections make an early switch to chasing with him now and he looks an interesting runner at a big price.

A winner over 17f on her return at Kelso following a three-month break. She then ran better than the result might suggest when fifth of ten at Ascot. She finished that particular race off well, having been badly hampered three out, but was below that form back there next time when racing off the same mark and has been below that Ascot run on two subsequent starts. His mark continues to fall, and he would be a danger to all if bouncing back.

Looked to have returned in decent form when runner at Chepstow in early December, but ran no sort of race back at that track when well beaten in the Welsh National. That run continued a rather inconsistent record, and he fared no better at Wincanton last time, albeit on heavy ground. He's been dropped a further 3 lbs by the handicapper, and that, together with slightly better ground, could see him bounce back, but he comes with risks attached.

A winner at Carlisle on his return from a 10-month absence. He went close to following up that success when beaten in a photo finish at Haydock over a longer trip and a 3 lb higher mark. Back down to 20f next time at Windsor, and that, coupled with the vagaries of that particular track, saw him run poorly. He was quickly back on track at Sandown when finishing 3rd and should give his running once again. Won't be far away.

Stepped up on his return effort by finishing a respectable sixth at Aintree in December when going up in trip. He didn’t get too hard a ride then, and having had a wind op after that run, was a close-up sixth at Haydock dropping back to two miles. He filled the same position at Kelso last time, and with the strong-pace nature of this race likely to suit, can reward each-way support.

Was a more-than-useful sort on the flat and, having finished 2nd in the Galway Hurdle last July, hasn't been seen over hurdles since. Has been running respectably on the flat and has a decent record fresh, so a five-month break shouldn't be an issue. Looks a big player.

Posted a couple of good efforts on the Flat when trained in Ireland and has taken well to hurdling since moving to this yard. Was 2nd at Exeter on his debut but stepped up his form when finishing a close 4th in a Grade 2 race at Cheltenham next time. He ran better than the result might suggest at Kelso last time when not jumping fluently. A better round of jumping will be needed in this, but if he cuts out the mistakes he could make the frame at big odds.

Had been chasing since returning from a six-month break and has run some good races over the larger obstacles. Notably, when a strong-finishing 3rd in a decent handicap at Newbury two starts ago. Connections went back over hurdles last time, but three miles on heavy ground proved too much. Better expected here, back over fences and on much better ground. Looks very interesting at nice odds.

She has a really impressive record over hurdles and been beaten just once in her 10 starts. That defeat came when she tackled Grade 1 company for the first time at Aintree in April last year behind Lossiemouth. There's nothing of that class here and she is very much the one to beat.
