Hasn’t won for some time, but there have been signs in recent starts that he might be able to break that record sooner rather than later. He was a respectable 5th of 14 at Sligo two starts ago but made no show at all at Fairyhouse just two days ago. He wouldn’t be out of this if turned out again so quickly, but he is difficult to catch right.

A winner of three of her races as a juvenile, she ran as though the race was needed on her return in a 6f handicap at Newmarket in the middle of April. She improved on that performance when a close-up fifth of nine at Ripon last time, and from a slightly lower mark can go close.

Having won on his return, he was a very close third over an extended mile trip at Haydock next time and followed that up with a creditable effort at Chester. He wasn't in quite the same form at Goodwood in a better race last time, but this looks easier, so ignore him at your peril.

Was having his first start for this yard, previously trained in France, when only beating one runner in a Class 2 handicap at Newmarket at the beginning of May. He might well have needed that but failed to improve at Musselburgh last time, when again only beating one other runner after a pretty aggressive ride. Back down at 6f here under a change of jockey and a less aggressive ride, and I see him feature and get back on track, as he was previously a Group 3 winner in France as a two-year-old. Worth a second look.

Having not shown a great deal in a couple of maidens as a two-year-old, there was more to take from his return effort at Leopardstown when stepped up to 10f here following a five-month break. Connections tried him in first-time cheekpieces back there last time over a longer trip and wasn’t disgraced. He goes in a first-time tongue tie here, and with blinkers replacing cheekpieces, has to be on the shortlist for his powerful yard.

Went through the race well but didn’t get the breaks late on, so could be considered unlucky. Can hopefully avoid traffic problems here and get his head in front where it matters.

She finished a never-nearer 7th in a 7f maiden at Catterick on her debut and looked more in need of the experience than some of her opponents on that occasion. She wasn’t beaten far but was well below that form next time at Thirsk over the same trip. That came just 10 days after her debut, and that will have been a factor, as she was much better last time at Beverley over a marginally longer trip. Moves into handicaps from a fair-looking mark and is well worth a second look.

Has been eased slightly by the handicapper and hopefully that will be enough to see him go close.

Made the running then and ran well at Aintree last time, when he was just a bit too keen when hitting the front. A similar effort here could see him be hard to catch and is well worth considering despite the current in-and-out form of the yard.

He was finishing the race off nicely without coming under too much pressure, but he hasn’t built on that in two subsequent starts at Thirsk. Last time he was switched to the AW at Southwell. He is dropping back to 5f here, a trip which might not suit, and needs to bounce back to sneak into the frame before presumably going down the handicap route.

Had been kept busy on the AW at the start of the year, running respectably without winning. Switched to the turf at Naas at the end of April and ran better than the finishing position of 7th might suggest; didn’t get the breaks during the race. Had been eased a couple of lbs by the handicapper ahead of his latest effort, where the step up to 6f didn’t see him get home and he faded inside the final furlong. Can do better here back at 5f and can go close.
