Has yet to really trouble the judge over hurdles and was well held on his return from a seven-month break when only 11th of 15 in a two-mile novice at Chepstow when friendless in the market. Went up slightly in distance next time for his handicap debut and ran respectably before moving up to three miles from a 2 lb lower mark and was a close 2nd. A reproduction sees him go close.

Was given an awful lot to do at Cheltenham over 20f three starts ago, and as a result the result doesn’t do him justice. He looked to have plenty more to give at the line but then failed to build on that at Kempton over a slightly longer trip. He was unsuited by dropping back to two miles at Warwick last time. He stays over two miles here and, as a consequence, has a bit to prove.

Left his fair novice hurdle form well behind when finishing 3rd on his handicap debut at Windsor last time when stepping up to 20f. Is back in novice company here, dropping back to two miles, but hopefully the stiff track and heavy ground will offset that. He looks a major player, having already won over C&D.

Back over a more suitable trip last time at Limerick, he was disappointing, failing to beat another runner on his first start on heavy ground. Connections drop him back to two miles here, which is a surprise, but on similar ground he could do enough to make the frame on handicap debut.

Didn’t show a lot on his debut over fences, but there was a lot more to take from his second attempt at Punchestown next time, when a close 5th over an extended two miles. He didn’t get a chance to build on that promise at Clonmel when brought down at the first, but was back to form last time when narrowly losing out over two miles at Tramore. Can hopefully build on that again here and go close.

A useful hurdler, he’s taken well to chasing. Having won on his debut over the larger obstacles, he wasn’t beaten far in two subsequent starts at Newbury and last time at Kempton when finishing a close-up 4th over 20f. Not in quite the same form at Cheltenham last time on soft ground over a similar trip, but dropping back to two miles should see a better performance if he copes with the forecast heavy ground.

Has been beaten a long way in his four starts in novice company so far, all at big odds, but has shown signs of ability and was spotted making late headway at Cork three starts ago. He has run poorly on heavy ground the last twice at Limerick and Gowran. He is bred to be suited to further than the trips he has raced over so far. Perhaps moving up in trip on his second start in a handicap from a low mark may show him in a better light.

Can improve further and is well worth a second look.

Runner-up on her hurdles debut over three miles at Exeter, she was below that form next time at Warwick, where a steady pace and shorter trip didn’t appear to suit. She was over a similar trip at Warwick last time and ran much better when heavy ground over that trip seemed to bring her stamina into play. She moves into handicaps now, going up further in trip, and looks a strong player.

Was back over fences for the first time since joining this yard at Ayr two starts ago. Ran poorly on the previous try, but showed promise for the future. Was held up then and jumped well to finish a never-nearer 2nd over 20f. Not so good at Down Royal last time, but that was over shorter and on heavy ground. Whilst kept to two miles here, the better ground and stiffer track can see him get back on track and feature.

Ran by far his best race yet over hurdles when making his handicap debut over two miles at Ayr at the beginning of November, doing his best work late on. He was too keen back there next time, with the combination of a longer trip and heavy ground seeing him not get home when fourth over 19.5f. A slightly longer trip the last twice has seen him back on track, again at Ayr; the latest was just five days ago. It’s a similar scenario here, so he can’t be left out of calculations if turning out.

Had just run to a modest level in his first two hurdle starts but wasn’t given a particularly hard race in either of them. He appeared to improve when stepped up in trip last time at Taunton, finishing a respectable 5th of 13 again under a considerate ride and wearing a tongue tie for the first time. That aid is retained here as he goes up further in trip for his handicap debut and looks an interesting runner, with his yard in good form.

Has done a lot better since being switched to chases by this yard. Last time, I saw him finish a respectable 5th over 21f at Fairyhouse. He would have been closer but for being given plenty to do and only just failed to get his head in front last time at Navan on heavy ground. Up further in trip here and needs considering with the yard in good form.

Has taken well to fences, having run to a fair level over hurdles last season. Got off the mark over fences at the second attempt when winning over 2m 5f at Ffos Las from a mark of 112. Seemed to better that effort next time at Uttoxeter when a strong-finishing 2nd, and has run two good races in defeat since: that run at Cheltenham next time and, last time, at Windsor. Has 3 lb more to carry here but is in such good form he can’t be ruled out.

Hasn’t had a lot of racing, but he hinted at retaining a fair level of ability three starts ago in a three-mile handicap hurdle at Ludlow, having been well supported in the market. He was raised 4 lb as a result of that when back over fences, for the first time for this yard, at Lingfield next time, where he finished a respectable second. He only got as far as the first last time at Leicester, but provided that hasn’t affected his confidence too much, he can get back on track here and needs considering.
