Has been off the track for 10 months. When reappearing in a three-mile handicap at Haydock a month ago, he finished a respectable 5th. That run was probably needed. Over a similar trip and on a marginally lower mark, he can get a lot closer today.

Has taken well to fences, having run to a fair level over hurdles last season. Got off the mark over fences at the second attempt when winning over 2m 5f at Ffos Las from a mark of 112. Seemed to better that effort next time at Uttoxeter when a strong-finishing 2nd, and has run two good races in defeat since: that run at Cheltenham next time and, last time, at Windsor. Has 3 lb more to carry here but is in such good form he can’t be ruled out.

Hasn’t had a lot of racing, but he hinted at retaining a fair level of ability three starts ago in a three-mile handicap hurdle at Ludlow, having been well supported in the market. He was raised 4 lb as a result of that when back over fences, for the first time for this yard, at Lingfield next time, where he finished a respectable second. He only got as far as the first last time at Leicester, but provided that hasn’t affected his confidence too much, he can get back on track here and needs considering.

Ran well at Chepstow in November, improving on his comeback run at Exeter following a seven-month break. He was noted for finishing that Chepstow race off well and stepped up on that form next time at Leicester when a close third from a slightly lower mark, shaping as though a step up to three miles would suit. He got that test last time at Ffos Las and finished a respectable second on heavy ground. A similar trip here and he looks to hold strong claims from a 1 lb lower mark.

Has made the frame in each of his starts since returning from a break and was a strong-finishing 2nd at Haydock three starts ago over 19f. He was raised 3 lbs by the handicapper ahead of his next run at Uttoxeter but ran poorly, seemingly not suited by dropping back to two miles. He raced off the same mark at Ayr last time and ran much better to finish a close 3rd back up in distance. He goes up slightly in trip here from the same mark and can’t be ignored completely.

Had finished 3rd on his only start in a bumper before making his hurdles debut at Thurles at the end of November, following a nine-month absence. He made the running and, having jumped soundly, only weakened late on as the lack of a recent outing told over an extended two-and-a-half-mile trip. Back in trip last time at Tramore, he ran to a similar level in finishing 2nd despite failing to justify strong market support, which saw him start at 4/9. Kept to two miles here, he looks to be the one to beat, albeit at prohibitive odds, with further improvement likely.

Had shown promise in his first three starts over hurdles so far, including when faced with an inadequate test of two miles at Cork two starts ago. Back over a more suitable trip last time at Limerick, he was disappointing, failing to beat another runner on his first start on heavy ground. Connections drop him back to two miles here, which is a surprise, but on similar ground he could do enough to chase home the short-priced favourite before presumably heading into handicaps.

Ran by far his best race over hurdles when making his handicap debut over two miles at Ayr at the beginning of November, doing his best work late on. He was too keen back there next time, with the combination of a longer trip and heavy ground seeing him not get home when fourth over 19.5f. A slightly longer trip last time saw him back on track, again at Ayr but on better ground. It’s a similar scenario here, so he can’t be left out of calculations.

A nicely bred individual. She never threatened on her racecourse debut at Punchestown in November but moved nicely through the race and was noted making steady late headway at the end of that 19f race. She showed a lot more next time at Naas when a respectable 3rd in a big-field novice event over the same trip, but this time on heavy ground. Not quite in the same form last time, but she wasn’t beaten far when finishing in midfield and wasn’t given a hard race either. One to keep an eye on here now, moving into handicaps.

Was given an awful lot to do at Cheltenham over 20f two starts ago, and as a result the result doesn’t do him justice. Looked to have plenty more to give at the line but failed to build on that at Kempton last time over a slightly longer trip. Has form over further, so dropping back to two miles is an interesting move and can reward each-way support.

Was back from an eight-month absence when finishing a close 2nd in a 17f handicap at Newton Abbot in October, keeping on steadily after pulling hard early on. Improved further at Windsor three starts ago, beaten less than a length after making a mistake at the last flight. Posted another good effort at Ascot from a 3 lb higher mark. Slightly below that level last time at Windsor but can get back on track here and looks sure to go close.

The only blemish was being pulled up at Cheltenham two starts ago when failing to handle the ground conditions at that particular track. Beaten in a photo last time at Ascot and could surprise here, provided the ground doesn’t get any worse.

Showed some improvement next time at Cork when 4th in a first-time hood, and improved again at Punchestown last time when a close 2nd of 13. He is hopefully capable of better still and is well worth a second look, tried in a first-time hood and tongue-tie combination.

The latest saw him finish a very close 2nd at Cheltenham over 20f, and he looks to have further improvement in him. He is tried in a first-time tongue tie here over a similar trip and is likely to take all the beating.

Has been progressing slowly over hurdles and showed her best form so far last time at Tramore when 5th of 14 over an extended two miles. She moved up in distance for her handicap debut at Fairyhouse two starts ago and ran well until dropping away from two out. She was kept to that sort of trip last time from a slightly lower mark and ran well to finish a close-up 3rd. Not out of this with a similar performance.

Up in class next time at Cheltenham, he was well below form over a similar trip but on heavy ground. Had been running pretty well on the flat before returning to hurdling at Huntingdon over 20f in mid-November. Weakened late on at Southwell next time before falling at the final flight, having been surprisingly stepped up to three miles. Was then back at two miles at Newcastle but failed to give his running. The previous fall may have been a contributory factor. He then seemed unsuited by heavy ground at Wetherby last time. Hopefully he can do better here, racing from a slightly lower mark and on better ground.

Returned from a six-month break when making his handicap debut over two miles at Hexham, finishing a respectable second. Went off too hard at Carlisle next time over a slightly longer trip but ran better last time at this track when settling better on his chase debut. Back at two miles here for his second start over fences and won’t be far away.

Having fallen at the last on her hurdling debut, she showed more promise when dropping down in trip last time at Huntingdon, finishing 5th of 15 over this sort of trip. She wasn’t beaten far and put in a much better round of jumping. A similar performance here will see her go close.

Very much a slow learner so far over hurdles, having previously shown some fair form on the flat at trips of 14f. His latest two efforts in two-mile novice events at Wetherby and Doncaster have been his best so far. He was a close 2nd at the latter track last time and shaped as though a step up in trip would bring about further improvement. He gets that here and looks a strong player.
