I was at Newbury courtesy of our own Olbg when this made his debut in a bumper and he caught the eye as an imposing sort with plenty of scope. Couldn't win a bumper or hurdle but has been decent over fences and form figures of 21U1 read well enough. Won a bit cosily last time despite narrow margin and 4lb rise looks fair especially as drops in grade. Surprised is not favourite and the drier the ground gets the more I fancy him. Needed all of Musselburgh's straight to get up last time and this more galloping track and run in looks tailor made and he looks mighty value to me as not sure main rival's form is as good as his. Been following this fella so have to go in again given he is so lightly raced for a 7yo and making into a fine chaser.

If you can get even money that looks a steal especially as bumper form from his run here last March is stacking up nicely over hurdles. Was fourth to Kadastral who I think is very decent and has won a maiden hurdle before chasing home Sober Glory. The second Talk The Talk is a Grade winner since and Harry Derham's third Klub de Reve is a Grade 2 winner subsequently you. My fancy made a pleasing hurdles debut and trainer targets this race. Drying ground will suit and this lightly raced, well bred point to point winner looks a shoe in despite a notable challenge from Ireland. The Paul Nolan raider is making this one a very attractive price.

Has been on my radar for so long after finishing a good second in a decent Cheltenham Listed Bumper. Was second at Chepstow the time before that effort and can you believe Supreme hot pot favourite Old Park Star was over 7l behind!!!! Obviously very flattered by that but has won over hurdles and relishes heavy ground as won his bumper on debut on it. Was a bit disappointing last when I was at Sandown and fancied him strongly but he only faded late on and that form could look better if Crackerjacque lands the opener. Handicap debut here and Paddy Hanlon who has built up a solid relationship with trainer takes off a valuable 5lb which will help on this ground. Holds a Grade 1 Cheltenham entry so you'd like to think can go close here and has been on my tracker so long can hopefully reward that faith that there is a good race in him. Big shout.

I was at Sandown when this fine stamp of a horse completed the four timer and was impressed with his physique and ability to power through the heavy going that day. Obviously had a tough race and is up another 6lb but is quickly on the upgrade and will relish this track and going. Yard in good form and a shade of odds against looks generous. Looks a throwback to an old fashioned National Hunt horse and will take a lot of beating if over Sandown exertions. Form has improved no end since Sean Bowen got in the plate this season and the pair can complete the nap hand here with the five timer despite quick reappearance. The slight doubt about whether Sandown has left a mark is the fact that opposition all have question marks about their recent form. We know this fella is bouncing and he'll be hard to beat.

Very interesting is the fact the Skelton's take on Potters Charm here after another one of their other mares Take No Chances wasn't far behind the top weight last time. Has a plethora of Cheltenham entries and won't want to leave her race here but is in the form of her life and connections will want that Grade 2 on her CV. Getting 6lb off Potters Charm will help and I really like this game mare who will relish this test on a stiff track on tough going. Nice price too.

I was at Sandown the last day when this fella ground it out on awful ground and I thought he needed a step up in trip. Surprised to see him out so quickly off a double penalty but he looks to have a touch of class too. Only real flop was in a Grade 2 behind No Drama Thus End at Sandown but was running well before fading late on and that one is a Grade 1 winner too. Is a course winner here and I'm also surprised is not favourite as I think is a stronger stayer with a touch more class than main rival Gaelic Pride. Can give the weight away and I just feel has been mixing it in a better class than he faces here.

C&D winner back in November when trainer did a shrewd raid and notched up a double (and me a few quid!) and I can't believe this hasn't been the target since. The fact the second, fourth and fifth that day have won a race each since says the form might okay. 7lb higher now but I liked the way he jumped the last that day over C&D suggesting there was loads left and the runner up Viroflay has won since. Donagh Meyler chooses him over Rising Dust which must be significant as can do 10st 4lb. The more the ground dries the better and though the Irish have a poor record in this Emmet Mullins looks like he has plotted this. Last two efforts have been uninspiring but that was over much shorter trips and handicap mark hasn't suffered much either. Must be his target and this lightly enough raced 7yo can run a big race.

Have to throw a few quid on Irish raider who is following his stablemate over and booking of Sean Bowen off a low weight caches the eye. Has to improve but knows how to win and the more the ground dries out the better. Yard have really worked the oracle with this horse since taking him over and has only disappointed on really soft ground in last 6 starts winning 5 of them. Hopefully not just a travel companion and despite climbing the weights a step up in trip on better ground looks perfect. Have to have a saver.

Has been hardly disgraced in Grade 1 company this campaign and on just third start of season can run well here despite giving weight to some old stalwarts who could have bigger targets ahead. Won the Albert Bartlett as a hurdler so has stamina and should like this trip and could improve for it. Holds Gold Cup and Grand National entries himself and though has big targets himself the first time blinkers and first time tongue tie suggest yard have targeted this race. Is 4lb better off with Lecky Watson for 4l compared to their Briwn Advisory form and why he is a bigger price than Gerri Colombe I can't work out. Is going to be a thorough test and this lightly enough 9yo, especially over fences looks like he is crying out for a marathon these days. Can outrun odds and should be grinding on if he hasn't got too far outpaced by the classier sorts.

Only real disappointment has been in a hot Cheltenham listed bumper that I've been following closely and to be fair wasn't disgraced in 7th there. I've been waiting an age for the winner of that race, Saint Clovis to come up but the form is working out ok. This one has done his bit too by winning at Taunton and Musselburgh and this track looks sure to suit my fancy who looks an out & out two miler. Beat Mossy Fen Road last time on merit and we know Harry D thinks a fair bit of that Supreme entered animal. Up in grade here but Sam TD a good booking and yard's runners are going well enough rattling the cross bar in recent weeks. Has made the running before but came off the pace last time so should be okay however the race develops. Has to improve but is going the right way and though probably flatters to beat an underperforming highly rated horse last time shouldn't be crabbed. EW shout for sure.

Running from out of the weights here but off a feather weight and with one of the best conditionals around, who is in cracking form booked I fancy him strongly. Won the Lincolnshire National and as the 7th & 8th have come out of that race and run well since the form might be ok. Showed stamina in abundance that day and should relish this trip. Lightly raced 7yo under rules, but was never out of the top 3 in 9 x PTP races winning 3 of them. Had a horse called Snowy Evening well behind when it pulled up at Doncaster the time before and my fancy was unlucky to bump into a Hendo plot that day. The third has won since and Snowy Evening has finished about 16l behind Fortunate Man subsequently too, so by my maths my punt should have as much chance as the Jonjo horse. By a Flemensfirth mare so heavy ground shouldn't be a problem but has good form on better ground so if it dries out it shouldn't inconvenience either. Yard very shrewd with this type of horse who has been Hunter Chasing too but is very much unexposed under rules over marathon trips.

Hard to be confident as has been beaten a long way on all rules starts but was sent off only at 7-1 on belated return after 269 days off last time here at Fairyhouse. Catches the eye on handicap debut and did have placed form in point to points so looks as if has been given plenty of time by shrewd yard. I'm expecting some improvement and half brother Cappucino has turned out half decent. Yard can improve them no end and I like Danny Gilligan in these big field handicaps as he often hits the frame on big priced animals.

Is a bit of an old rascal but a horse I've always followed as a couple of years ago won a couple of nice races around this time of year. Has pulled up three out of the last four times he has raced but ran well on the other start catching the eye staying on well at Ayr. Has one of the best conditionals booked and he gave my punt Kalhandrion a cracking ride yesterday and he also caught my eye giving a similar sort to Eire Street called Goodoldbill a cracking cajoling ride to win on Thursday. Does stay this trip and is now well handicapped as is 11lb lower than when a good second at Kelso over this trip during that purple patch a couple of years ago. Not one to go mad about but if on a going day must have a chance off this mark with a good jockey booked in a bang average race. Yard had their first winner since November on Thursday too and in Charlie Maggs I trust to cajole this tricky sort around to grab a place at the very least.

Horse I've always liked as nearly did me a nice ew favour at 100-1 once but like all those shots finished a place out the frame. However is well related to trainer's best horse and is improving as a chaser. Would of won easily last time but for unseating late on and the first time cheek pieces can hopefully take some keenness out of him. Off the same mark as last time had to be of interest and acts on heavy ground so though stamina had to be taken on trust can go well for yard who place their horses so well.

The fact the winner has gone in again, the second has finished a close second since and the the third has also won the form looks okay. Has slipped to last winning mark and looks ready to strike. The 4th Adrienne has since switched to hurdles and is now Grade 2 & 3 placed since behind the likes of Mange Tout & Narciso Has. The 5th that day is none other than Made U Blush who ironically is now a Listed Triumph hurdle winner here at Musselburgh for the Skeltons. Yard had been struggling for winners but as expected turned the corner yesterday with a treble and a close second at Kelso. This Ultima winner is a class act and so frustrating in equal measures as will hit a fence or two on the way around. The step up in trip hopefully can put less pressure on his jumping but it's hard to get his demolition job at Cheltenham last year out of your mind. A blunder put paid to his chances here in the Peter Marsh but still rallied well and promises to stay this far. Very lightly raced for a 9yo and might make up into a National horse yet. Yard's only runner today and he did win on this very day last year at Kelso before going onto that emphatic Cheltenham win. I reckon if he puts in an error free run here will dot up before having a crack at the Gold Cup, but I'd have a few quid on for the Grand National too as looks the ideal type for that IF his jumping can be ironed out.

Sadly Harry Derham's loss in Ben Pauling's gain since owner trainer's sale and he duly obliged in good style on yard and hurdles debut. Yard and jockey in good form lately and as a half brother of a class 3 chase winner I'm hopeful Harry Fry's charge could make up into a fair sort and his very interesting on handicap bow. Handled soft ground last time do should go on the ground and could be backed tomorrow so get on early.

Top weight here but should be backed in this grade as looks a better chaser than hurdler. Mind you kept good company as a hurdler and three runs behind winners such as Dance and Glance, Jordan's Cross and Vanderpoel who have all won decent pots this season puts form into perspective. Won on chase debut from a subsequent winner and was then second to Supreme George last time at Catterick and that one won again since too so form is stacking up nicely. Was a beaten odds on shot last time but a mistake put paid to his chances and if learning from that and if putting in an error free round can win this average looking race before top weight. Stiff track over this trip should suit as won over a furlong further on chase debut and is a strong fancy here with good jockey booked.

Has been mixing it in good company and has improved with every run and looks well up to winning this. You only need to look at the winners of the races he had been contesting and they've managed to place at Grade 2 level, bolt up in the Grade 2 River Don and place at Listed level so in a race of this nature unless something decent is lurking he looks a good thing. Stable debut for Gavin Cromwell and though has tried hurdling connections obviously want to land a bumper or two with this fella. Wouldn't have to improve much for shrewd outfit to win this and looks value at the moment.

Was lucky to nick a bit of evens earlier as looked the most solid favourite of the card and has progressed since being switched to Ireland. Has run really well on last three starts over C&D and is backed up by decent form. Won a couple of starts ago here beating Onefortheditch who has since run really well for a long way at the DRF. Was second to Its Bilbo in a Listed race last time again here and as that one had Grade 2 placed form as a juvenile was unlucky to bump into one there so good. Looks the improver and though getting skinny enough now does set the standard and should be hard to beat.

I was very interested in Atlantic Gamble who looks a handicap job after three starts since switching from the flat, but yard run this one too and jockey bookings catch the eye. Jack Gilligan has ridden both and chooses this one who showed a bit more last time with a plodding on remote 6th . His 5lb off too would of been handy on the top weight but picks this son of the decent Glen's Melody who I was there when she picked up the pieces of Annie Power's well documented last fence fall in the Cheltenham mares' race! Not one to go overboard about but hopefully can reward a speculative EW poke as should have more stamina than his flat bred stablemate who heads the weights.

Better ground had always suited and he'll pop up one day maybe in the summer when he normally nicks a race over fences each season. However is looking very well handicapped now and was 3rd over hurdles over C&D a couple of runs ago off a 1lb lower mark. Ran another eyecatching race over fences last time staying on late on soft ground and as Eoin Staples was booked he was obviously well fancied that day. If in same form and proved soft ground isn't totally out of reach then can plod on again here for a place at least. Lightly enough raced for his age and I'm hopeful can hit the frame as looks too well handicapped to ignore and at least comes here in a bit of form.

Ran well last time. Dropped back into a handicap hurdle when looking likely to go close before fading late on. The drop slightly in trip will suit. The form from Punchestown looks okay, as the winner has been beaten a neck since and the second and fourth have both been placed in the same race since. Was once 4th in a Hunter Chase at this track, again fading late on over slightly further. Was once 4th in the Cheltenham Festival Hunter Chase and has been lightly raced since, given his age. Still a maiden, but he won't find an easier race to get off the mark as plenty are coming here in poor form. The favourite drops in grade after three pulled-up efforts and is the danger, but this could be the day for my fancy. He could be getting ready for another crack at a big Hunter Chase, but at least comes here in form. Very interesting, and I reckon he is a 'win or watch me plod on' type of bet today. He won't get any easier races to compete in than this for a while. The trip should be spot on.

Still a maiden but was unlucky to bump into a bang-in-form rival last time over C&D, who is now rated 108 and was completing his hat-trick. To get to within a length and a half of that one marks it down as a decent effort. Nudged up 1 lb here, but this time Charlie Maggs can claim the full 5 lb, so effectively is 1 lb lower than the last effort. Handled bad ground there and was well clear of the third, so could be ready to strike and shed the maiden tag. Best form is at around this trip, and the trainer is 4-17 at this track this season too, for a nice LSP return of plus £12.83. I'll wade into his mare here, who looks his best chance of a winner. Big shout for me over C&D that suited last time, and I doubt there is one as good in here as she met last time.

Has to take on last year's 1-2 from this race here but nothing in this season's renewal arrive in the same form as my fancy. Finished second last time to another bang in form rival who was also completing his hat-trick and this looks a cracking opportunity for my fancy. Best form is on better ground but has placed form on heavy in France and pedigree suggests he'll handle the ground. Stays further so drop in trip won't hinder his chances as will need stamina to get home on this ground. Looks ready to strike on third start after a year off and looks value with rivals all coming here with something to prove.

Since winning bumper on debut had failed to trouble the judge but had faced some stiff opposition and he won't find a Mossy Fen Road, a Sober Glory or even a Gentleman Toboot amongst this lot. Ideal opportunity to get off the mark over hurdles and this is a marked drop in grade. Better ground would suit but if it dries out a tad he looks a real good thing but did finish second on heavy at Taunton so should be fine if it stays slow going. Yard still in good form and this looks a banker to me.

Heavy ground third on sole run in France leaves him with a bit to find but has to be of interest on this ground with big concerns on the favourite's pedigree. Dam won on good to firm and with Strong Gale back through his forebearers I always thought fast ground would suit. A bit of money has come for Emmet Mullins' charge and though yard have only winners from 37 in bumpers this season I'm willing to chance this one may handle conditions the best since switch from France.

Decent hurdler where he was a Listed winner who stayed very well but looks even better as a chaser and is 2211 from four runs over the larger obstacles. Has improved with every run and the beating of Koktail Divin at Punchestown looks better now after than one bolted up by 21l in a Beginners Chase since. Gold Dancer drops in grade but has stamina to prove and as my fancy has a Grand National entry I doubt stamina is an issue. Trainer on the up and spends his time training and riding out but has a good one on his hands here as shown by JP McManus getting the cheque book out. Stiff track will suit and looks to have too much stamina for these.

Arguably should of won last time but getting done by the very smart Home By The Lee and finishing 18l in front of Gerri Colombe is hardly shabby form. Has gone well for young claimer Carl Millar this season who has won twice in him but interesting Jack Lennedy back on today. Stays well and won't mind the ground and despite drop in trip this stiff track will play to his strengths. Trainer sets an imponderable by running last year's winner of this race in Maxxum but this looks a stronger renewal. Getting weight from all bar one looks to have a massive chance of getting back to winning ways.

Is fast becoming a favourite as I latched onto this mare after she kept pitching in in good company and won a mares bumper in good style last season. Has improved with every run this season and last two efforts have been eyecatching. Won her maiden hurdle beating Filyoureye who has bolted up by 16 lengths since but her handicap debut here last time was even better. Took an age to get up and I can't wait until she tackles 3m. Her dam produced a Listed 3m2f chase winner in Brave Eagle and this one is my dark horse for the Albert Bartlett where she has an entry and is 50-1. Ground is fine and defied a mark of 120 on handicap debut and deserves this step up in class. Travels and stays so looks a good thing here despite tougher race.
