I have been a member of Olbg since September 2009 and must say it's one of the most user friendly sites out there. The fact all tips, comments, stats & performances are recorded and available for inspection it really does mean you have to bring a professional approach. You are judged on what you say and do, so I will do my best to help others along the way in our journey to prise some profit out of those miserly bookies. I am a genuine horse racing enthusiast and have spent (or some might say wasted!) over 30 years as an avid punter and the beauty is I am still learning. This site definitely helps as the information and knowledge of other members available is excellent.....and free. My other hobbies are photography and cricket, I'm the current Skipper of Seveno CC a south London friendly cricket team and we're always looking for new players. I'm also a keen photographer and have captured some great memories especially from Cheltenham and if any photos catch your eye, please get in touch. For me, all roads from about November lead to the greatest sporting event of the year, The Cheltenham Festival and I have been going nearly every year since 1998. The memories, stories, good punts & bad will make a great book one day! I always look for value and hopefully a few juicy punts click on here. I would say horse racing is my game but I do like the odd dabble in the golf, boxing & cricket markets. Enjoy the ride!

Won on this card on seasonal reappearance a couple of years ago and goes well fresh. Likes these flat tracks as has won at Newbury too in last year's Game Spirit beating the talented Libberty Hunter. Has to prove stamina but shapes as if he stays and ran well in the Ryanair at Cheltenham in March staying on well. With form figures of 122 from three runs there and with yard in cracking form too looks a player for me. Likeable tough sort who tries hard and must go close.

Point to point runner up to a sort called Taurus Bay who is now owned by Harry Redknapp and is with Ben Pauling so my reckoning is this one could be decent. Wasn't disgraced on hurdles debut behind De Temps En Temps at Uttoxeter and considering that one had gone in again in a class 2 novice hurdle at Cheltenham that suggests form might be worth following. Sure to strip fitter and come on for the experience so could go well here. Step up in trip should suit and I like this one on paper and what we saw at Uttoxeter which looked a decent race.

I'm not sure that many of these veterans ate Aintree types bar Ashtown Lad who did win a Becher Chase back in the day. One who still looks unexposed for an elder statesman is this one who goes well fresh too as shown when a good second to the decent Flic Ou Voyou on seasonal debut last year. Was sadly pulled up on next start but starts off on a fair mark and is lightly enough raced to think has something to offer. Small win bet is my suggestion , though I've stuck him in my lucky too, as he may well need the run after 10 months off. Well handicapped compared to his pomp and reverts back to cheek pieces after flopping in the first time visor when last seen. Could go well at a price as know he stays and won't mind the ground.

Consistent 121 rated hurdler who was one I liked last season and looks to have the scope to make a nice chaser. Only career flop was in a hot Aintree Bumper in 2024, but that race continues to work out well, and considering Ma Shantou was tailed off in it tells you it was decent! Look what that one did yesterday when landing the Nap. Anyway, one shouldn't keep looking back, and this one, if taking to fences on chase debut here, must be feared as looks a classy sort. Dam has already produced Grand Sancy, a listed novice chase winner, and I like this one's chances.

If anyone followed my picks last season, hopefully you're not skint...but would know I really liked this horse and I think there is a big pot in him. Stays well and down the line looks a 3m chaser to me but can take a step forward now dropping into handicap company. Wasn't disgraced in the Albert Bartlett at the Cheltenham Festival where Harry Cobden rode him and he'd also won on him twice in novice hurdles too so is nice he takes the ride again. Combo had a nice place yesterday in Classic King and yard in cracking form too with 7 winners from last 20 sent out. Got on early last night and has been well backed today off a fair looking mark on handicap debut.

Was pulled up on only attempt at the Old Course here but record of 121 from three efforts on New Course suggests it's not the air that put him off last November here. On a good mark and though might find the trip on this course a tad sharper than ideal if he gets a strong pace to aim at might just rally home for a place at least. Bar debut has placed on all three starts in the month of October and has had a break since a couple of spins in the summer. Only 2lb than last win and as goes well fresh looks as if been lined up for this. There are some smart horses in here but this one is relatively lightly raced for a 10yo and will appreciate the trip on ground he likes. Probably will get outpaced at some point but hammered Hymac by 12l on the New Course in the spring giving him weight, yet gets weight here, and is three times the price with fitness onside! Looks a no-brainer to me for shrewd yard and maybe best EW bet of the day.

Made a pleasing chase debut in a four runner race when second to a fair sort over a trip way too short. The three runners from that novice chase were rated higher and have all placed since in their respective runs. Stayed on well that day and considering won over 2m5f and 2m6f over hurdles will appreciate stepping up in trip. Yard in good form with three winners from last dozen sent out and had a nice winner at a price yesterday here at Cheltenham. That man Sean Bowen booked and with ground looking perfect has a cracking chance here if improving for chase debut. Will strip fitter too so must be a strong fancy.

Last year's winner whose form tailed off thereafter but I'd be surprised if he wasn't primed up for this as his season's Gold Cup. 1lb lower than last year and though I don't know much about jockey she was jocked up on a very well backed favourite for the yard recently. Sadly that one was pulled up but very interesting she has been trusted with this one who has a good record fresh and at the track. If on song for in form yard must go well and hopefully follow half brother in the first into the paddock. EW play as has conditions to suit and has the proven stamina and the pace against some non stayers and old plodders. Well handicapped for in form yard.

Yard did win this last year with Potters Charm and though we are not sure what this one can be it's interesting connections pitch him here on debut for stable. 5th in the Grand Annual was a fair effort and hit the line well there off a ferocious pace. Will probably get something like that again with Matata only knowing one way to run really and this as if it will be set up nicely for him. Made a pleasing seasonal debut and should strip fitter now and I do like sire's runners at Cheltenham. Won't want to give too much rope to Matata and last year's winner Calico is a danger given that one's record fresh but yard invariably leave this meeting with a winner and with fitness assured must go close.

Point to point winner, bumper winner and hurdle winner so who is to say he isn't potentially very smart. Visuals back that up and two easy wins at Market Rasen suggests this track will suit and he'll be hard to beat if the improvement follows it's course. Yard do well at this meeting and often unveil a quality animal and they way this one won last time suggest he is good. Yard in good form and though hasn't beaten much can handle this step up grade against some decent oppo but somehow I get the feeling this one might just be the best. Best Country Mile fair and square on chase debut and might just have too much toe again for that one on this sharper of the two Cheltenham tracks. Won't want a massive test of stamina so hopefully the rain stays away and with yard on fire (8 winners from last 10 sent out) he must be a player here. Country Mile could not of been more impressive when dotting up in a novice hurdle on the other course here last December but hasn't replicated that effort since. Sean Bowen riding out of his skin and I see no reason why places won't be confirmed despite weight swing in favour of his old foe. Irish contenders always dangerous but if it stays decent ground I can see this one skipping clear and being hard to beat.

I like Navajo Indy but he likes flatter tracks and though it is sharp enough here has stamina to prove too. The Expensive One comes from the same dam as The New One who was one of my all time favourites and has already shown decent form. Ran well on seasonal debut when beaten less than a length when miles clear of the third before winning really well next time at Stratford. Decent ground will suit as long as the rain stays away and should improve for step up in trip as family get stayers too from dam Thuringe. Yard started in cracking form this Autumn as they invariably do and though taking on more experienced types, a similar novice won this last year. Must go close a looks a cracking EW play.

Caught the eye last time here over 7f and shaped as if a return to a mile would suit as finished really well to be beaten a neck by Dream Of Mischief. That one goes later off a mark of 73 so that suggests my fancy might be on a fair mark here despite 2lb rise from that defeat. Yard in ok form and did have a couple of winners lately so I really like this one's chances despite top weight. Has run well here over a mile too when 4th to a horse that had won a Class 4 on the turf since so form may be okay too.

Very average fir previous yard and on second start for Olly Murphy and on handicap debut win really well at Fontwell over hurdles in August. Good to soft ground suited and gets that again today. Stayed on well at that stiff track so increase slightly in trip here won't bother him here. I like this one on paper on pedigree as out of a once raced Brazen Beau mare who has produced one foal to hit the track so far. That half sister to my fancy won over 7f at Newmarket on debut on quick ground before winning again on second start on the AW at Kempton. I'll take a chance this debutant can do the same. Shane Foley a very interesting booking as the Irish jockey is 3-9 in Britain on the turf on 2yo's this season. Obviously he is well fancied on the Gosden one later but on this one's pedigree could have a live one here too for shrewd yard.

Very nice race with some talented hurdlers turning to fences and though this one is making debut over the larger obstacles catches my eye. Was a point to point winner before winning again bumper and then a hurdle race. All those wins were after fair breaks so obviously goes well fresh. The on fire as per usual Sean Bowen is 6 winners from last 7 rides and I fancy this one to beat the better fancied pair above him in the market. Knows how to win as us 4-7 in NH career and only disappointment was on real soft ground at Cheltenham. Wendigo is the class angle as had chased home the likes of my favourite current horse in training The New Lion but tends to need a run after a break. I'll wager Wade Out if fit enough and he won't lack effort from the saddle.

When you consider last year's first three home were drawn 16,20 and 21 you have to be happy with my fancy's draw given we have similar conditions today. Out of a Group 3 winner who stayed a mile and a half and had a sibling that is a 10f heavy ground winner so pedigree suggests step up in trip and going will suit. Improved massively to win last time and looks a decent animal with conditions that look perfect on paper. Was only a maiden win last time but did it in good style and looks an improver. Sallal will be all the rage after third last time was massively boosted by the winner Cicero's Gift's shock Group 1 win yesterday at Ascot and rightly so, but for me Fingerpaint has shown enough so far to think he will be decent. Caught my on debut then ran well at Group 3 level last time when plugging on behind Princess Child after getting hampered when making a move. Extra trip and emphasis on stamina should suit and has plenty of scope. Interesting connections have pitched him into decent company again given inexperience and I think if getting a clear run can trouble these as should like the extra yardage. Princess Child has since run well at Group 2 level at the Arc meeting and whilst that is obviously not as good as what Cicero's Gift had done to Sallal's form it is more believable! This one has been in my tracker and I think could be very good so will keep the faith as noted needed a step up in trip next time.

It has to be significant the sporting owners give this a crack and with the ground probably going to be decent this could come down to the winner being the one with the best turn of foot. Step forward Delacroix whose win last time from last year's shock winner of this race Anmaat was most impressive. Has to find a tad more improvement to beat his elders but to my eye is a special horse over a stiff 10f and it is hard to forget his Coral Eclipse win, when gunning down Ombudsman late on, suggesting a stiffer test will suit. Pacemakers hold the key and if it's a crawl and they're in a heap his turn of foot may well win it and if the go off too quick he can stalk Ombudsman and pounce once again to go 2-1 up. Price is becoming very generous too and I think he'll win this, as looks back to his best and can be forgiven his run at York behind his old rival on that sharper track. NAP!

Finally made the Group 1 breakthrough last time in the Prix Vermeille in taking fashion only having to be cajoled home in a decent time on the clock. But for the very smart Bluestocking might actually be a three time Group 2 C&D winner as chased home that classy sort in the Vermeille and Arc itself last season. Is 3/4 this season with only defeat coming at St Cloud by Calandagan and though that leaves her with a little bit to find with Kalpana her Longchamp form is the best in offer here. Ground not a worry and though draw could of been kinder Maxime Guyon rides her instead of Sosie who he rode on the Foy last time and in the Arc too. He won't make that mistake again and I think this is the Arc winner in waiting and a fair price to boot.

Sole win last season was in this very race and that followed a second in the Portland at Donny the race before and this season has followed a similar path. Again has yet to win up to now this year, but was second again in the Portland last time, and that was best effort this season. On the same mark as last year's triumph in this and if to win only one race this year it won't be a shock if it's this one. Soft ground won't be an issue either and looks a bombproof EW play here despite taking on a host of improvers. Only 2 x 7yo's have won this in the last 20 years but this cracking sort and stable star could do a Royal Rock who was the last 7yo to win in 2011, but was taking this race for the second time. Has the Group 1 winning fillies to beat here but looks one in waiting herself and as is unbeaten we have to back her till she is defeated. Doesn't look the strongest renewal to me and despite giving weight to all I really like this filly's chance. Travelled like a good thing at Doncaster last time in the Group 3 Sceptre only to mugged on the line and dropping in grade here had to be the play. Was 5th in the Atalanta at Sandown before and that form looks okay and might look better at the end of today with Lady of Spain looking a future Group 1 filly. Doesn't win as much as you'd like but is solid and consistent and improving all the time as has the scope to be an even better older horse. 4yo's have won four of the last 10 renewals and though the 3yo's have won the other six I'm not sure they are the strongest looking bunch this time around. 3rd in this race last year after finishing second in the Lady's Amateur version at the previous Ascot meeting and treads the same path again and though only 5th in the Lady's race last time is too well handicapped to ignore. Is over 10lb lower now and jockey is on fire with 5 winners from last 10 rides so confidence must be booming. Won't mind any rain and has to be the EW play of the day as long as draw works out to be on the right side. We'll know after the race but just too well in to leave alone.
