I have been a member of Olbg since September 2009 and must say it's one of the most user friendly sites out there. The fact all tips, comments, stats & performances are recorded and available for inspection it really does mean you have to bring a professional approach. You are judged on what you say and do, so I will do my best to help others along the way in our journey to prise some profit out of those miserly bookies. I am a genuine horse racing enthusiast and have spent (or some might say wasted!) over 30 years as an avid punter and the beauty is I am still learning. This site definitely helps as the information and knowledge of other members available is excellent.....and free. My other hobbies are photography and cricket, I'm the current Skipper of Seveno CC a south London friendly cricket team and we're always looking for new players. I'm also a keen photographer and have captured some great memories especially from Cheltenham and if any photos catch your eye, please get in touch. For me, all roads from about November lead to the greatest sporting event of the year, The Cheltenham Festival and I have been going nearly every year since 1998. The memories, stories, good punts & bad will make a great book one day! I always look for value and hopefully a few juicy punts click on here. I would say horse racing is my game but I do like the odd dabble in the golf, boxing & cricket markets. Enjoy the ride!

Wouldn't have a lot to find to outrun big odds here given was second to Wimbledon Hawkeye in the Royal Lodge last season and the fourth Puppet Master had franked the form by winning the Lingfield Derby trial already this season. Yard had a cracking season at York in 2024 which returned 10 winners from 50 runners at a 20% strike rate and a healthy plus £26.90 level stakes profit. Holds a Derby entry and wasn't knocked about on seasonal debut at Newcastle and shouldn't be underestimated here stepping up in trip. Dam won the Juddmonte here and though is only solid so far may improve for a trip and looks the ew value anyway.

Made a very pleasing seasonal debut at Musselburgh winning a competitive sprint rather cosily despite looking in need of the run. Has improved physically by the look and I said then there is a big sprint pit on this one this year. Holds Group 1 entry at Royal Ascot so would want to be winning this handicap off this mark. Drawn well enough too as will get a nice tow into the race from the likes of Zoulo Chief and Fine Wine who both like to get on with things. Powerful traveller with more to come and looks sure to go close as will stay on well as does stay a bit further.

One of the best bred sorts around and hasn't had optimum conditions yet in career which would be a mile and a half on decent going. Gets that today and on pedigree wins half the track as Derby winning dad wi verge Juddmonte here and Oaks winning mum was a runner up to Midday in the Yorkshire Oaks here. We know that talent isn't always passed on and this one had been kept to a fairly low level but bumped into a progressive sort last time and Ryan Moore keeps the faith. Must go close.

Made debut in Newmarket maiden that has worked out reasonably well with the winner going in again and multiple second places from plenty of others that have turned out since. Won in good style next time out at Kempton and took another step forward on seasonal debut at Wolverhampton when beaten a short head and a short head behind the reopposing Red Sand. That one was just holding on whilst this one might of got up in another stride so should reverse places here on turf with a stiffer test. 2lb better off anyway on handicap debut and with Ryan Moore booked looks nailed on to go close.

Shaped on seasonal debut that already needs further and if coming on for the run should be a dangerous opponent to all. Has to prove is up to this level but with yard nicking nearly all the classic trials in England so far you have to take notice even if they send over the stable cat. To be fair had stablemate Garden Of Eden just behind on comeback and that one had followed up in a listed event since. Finished last season a Group 3 winner and the stablemate fourth has bolted up in the Lingfield Oaks trial already this season. Ryan Moore rides this place well and 2024 season here read 8 wins from 25 rides at a 25% strike rate and a healthy plus £13 level stakes profit which is some return given the shorties he will ride. Step up in trip looks sure to suit given the way she stayed on last time and stripping fitter here will be hard to beat despite some progressive sorts in this.

Has switched to Midgeley yard and they're outfit who know how to improve a sprinter and two runs for the yard have been encouraging including over C&D last time. Caught the eye staying on well from a poor draw and has a better berth today so should go well. Yard have had only three winners this month from 24 runners, all were sprinters though but many others have hit the frame (9 top four finishers) so seem in good nick. Stable debut at Newcastle over 5f when second wasn't devoid of promise either and a stiff 5f on fastish ground looks optimum conditions. Must go close and has a great chance to my eye and seems in good form for new team. Change of air might of worked the oracle.

Only a 1lb higher than when winning at Haydock last season and though wasn't in good form after that is worth chancing off a break. Has finished 3rd and 2nd on seasonal debuts for the past two years so obviously goes well fresh and to be fair nearly won last season on reappearance as was only beaten a neck off a 3lb lower mark. Might be worth keeping an eye on if not just for today bug for the near future as well as is a half brother to three winners including Sands Of Mali who was a Group 3 winner as a 2yo. In fact two other siblings from dam have won as juveniles so my fancy is bred to be an early type and could go well at a price. Yard going well this season too and are operating at a 30% strike rate across all disciplines on the flat and this one is bred to be a fair sprinter. Open race and though some have winning form I do like this one on paper and yard have had a nice couple of winners in recent days. One for the notebook for sure.

Had three all weather runs as a 2yo and probably showed best form on last run when staying on well over a mile at Wolverhampton last back end. Made a mockery of handicap/seasonal and turf debut at Beverley last month when winning readily bouncing off the good ground. Looks progressive and handled the step up in trip well too and in fact is the only distance winner in the field. Willie Buick booked and looks a fair bet to me so hopefully we'll be having a right old Kokanee "knees up" when this one bolts up and hopefully backs up some confident picks today.

Only raced twice as a 2yo winning well here on debut before a cracking run in the Group 3 Oh So Sharp on final start. The winner that day hasn't set the world alight on sole run since but the third Flight has just given the tip top Desert Flower a real scare in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket last weekend. Form sets the standard here and looks value to me against some exposed sorts. Trainer is a dab hand at improving his 3yo fillies no end and if fit this potentially smart sort looks a good thing in this. Holds plenty of fancy entries including the Irish Guineas, The Oaks and the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot so would want to be putting these away if genuinely up to that level. Only 3yo in the field and getting all the weight allowances surely wins this.

Interesting connections have persevered with this 4yo who only made his debut in March and though form of that Southwell isn't much cop has the look of an improver. Won readily next time beating one of the best bred horses in the country Don Simon ( Sea The Stars x Snow Fairy) and that one has franked the form since with a narrow defeat in a Chelmsford handicap. Obviously stays well and looks the progressive one in a field of exposed sorts. Switch to turf shouldn't be a bother especially here where all weather form usually stacks up and he looks on a fair mark for handicap debut. Oisin Murphy booked and he is going to be very hard to beat here.

I had a saver bet on this one in the Irish Lincoln and he ran a cracker when well backed to finish 5th after travelling well and fading late on. I like that form as a few have run well since including the winner Orandi who was just beaten two smidges in the real Lincoln at Doncaster. Lightly raced sort for a 5yo who only made debut last March beating another good sort in State Actor who was runner up in the Irish Cambridgeshire since. Has good form over 7f on decent ground so I'm expecting a huge run here from a decent draw and Hollie Doyle has been booked. The English handicapper may well of underestimated this improving sort who looks to have ideal conditions and has form that stacks up well.

Bolted up here over further last season and from a plumb draw if he gets a good early position could well dominate this field. Went well for young apprentice last time and form around tight tracks read well and he must have a huge chance here as will stay on best of all given form over further. I can't believe he is not shorter in the market as form of Triumph Hurdle third looks the strongest on offer here under any format and he must go close. Decent on the flat for James Fanshawe and his half brother Burdett Road has ended up rated 111 on the level on turf so potentially this fella can still prove on a very fair mark here. Switched to hurdles for new trainer has taken up form to another level as bolted up in two Grade 2 Cheltenham trials before running a mammoth race when well backed in the Truimph itself. Lulamba and Poniros have well advertised that form since too. Main rivals don't look good enough or have stamina to prove and as the cheekpieces are slapped back on (form reads 431 on the flat with them on) he looks a good thing to me here. Given a fair run I think he wins well today and is a sharp enough type (has won around Goodwood) who should handle this place. Trainer has taken out Liam Swagger and this one can prove too strong for these.

C&D winner last September and though that was on heavy ground and we're good here today yesterday's time over the 7f trip suggested there is enough dig in the ground. Add in the fact there has been watering over the week I think my fancy will be fine and from a plumb draw should go well. Only made debut last March and is a three time winner now all over 7f. Yard has had a couple of winners and a couple of thirds at the meeting here this week and this one looks well overpriced to me. Race not unknown for shocks or big priced places and for me Hey Boo could be the fly in the ointment this time. Really caught my eye coming out of the pack in the Fred Darling to be a staying on second to Duty First who careered away there but winners of that have a poor record following up in this. However last year's third Elmalka won this after finishing third at Newbury and whilst I'm not saying Hey Boo can do the same is too big a price to ignore. Reasoning is based on the fact Simmering was well beat there and on that line of form has as much chance, if not more than Lake Victoria and Red Letter. Looks a rapid improver as only made debut in February and gives the impression will stay a mile. Been watching her price contract in the last few days and has an each way squeak with fitness assured.

Looks to have improved a ton over the winter as looked physically well developed and as two half sisters both won around Newmarket too he looks made for this place. Will stay further in time but will be hard to beat here with yard flying another tick in the box. Plenty of fast ground form in the pedigree and proven over C&D too so it is going to take a good one to beat him. Form can be crabbed slightly but on all evidence looks sure to be a superstar given more time to develop in that fine frame of his. Wasn't disgraced in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham and was only a length and a quarter behind subsequent Aintree Grade 1 winner Murcia there. Good ground suits and worth a crack at this trip for yard who won this race last year. Definite each way player here.

Strong stayer who was decent over hurdles and his highlight was being a Grade 1 Albert Bartlett winner. Was only 4l behind Lecky Watson at Cheltenham in the Brown Advisory and I'm still not convinced that one is a copper bottomed stayer so expect Stellar Story to turn the horn around given yard are in slightly better form now. Won the Grade 2 Florida Pearl here on chase debut and the few extra yards now can only help draw out his stamina even more. Yielding going would suit but hopefully can make this a proper test and could be hard to pass alternatively if a strong pace is on could stay on best of all, either way is too big a price for one with his form in the book.

Chase debut was very impressive at Kempton and the the fact all three opponents Leave of Absence, Gidleigh Park and The Four Sixes have won decent races since suggest form is strong. Been disappointing since on soft ground but I'm expecting better here after a short break. Is better fresh anyway and has won a few times off breaks and was a Greatwood Hurdle and a Betfair Hurdle winner over the smaller obstacles so has a touch of class. Doesn't look the deepest race to me despite the numbers and this one had more than enough back form to think he is too big a price here.

I like Timmy Tuesday who ran a blinder last time over slightly further in a top handicap at Aintree but that also brings this one into the equation. Ran a cracker to be a 6l second to Timmy Tuesday at Down Royal last time and by my maths is 12lb better off here. The drying ground is another plus and this trip is perfect as has won around 2m4f in the past. Lightly raced and on the back of a career best looks on a fair mark to me. Booking of JJ Slevin catches the eye too. If you fancy Timmy Tuesday on this Tuesday you have to have a saver on this unexposed sort. Yard a bit hit and miss lately but have had a few winners in recent weeks and with the extra places on offer here this one looks value with trip and ground possibly bringing more improvement.

Trainer 6-23 on the all weather this year with his 3yo's and this one should improve massively with another winter on his back. Well bred and dam has produced 6 winners from 9 foals including Group 1 winners St Mark's Basilica and Magna Grecia. Yard in cracking form anyway and this one will want further in time but has a great chance here in a not very deep race.

Made a pleasing handicap debut at Newcastle and was just a nose behind subsequent winner Frankie's Dream so form looks strong enough. Has two half brothers that have both won on turf and on the all weather over trips 6 1/2f to 1m6f on the flat so should stay 7f too. Yard in decent form as well as are 6-35 in the past fortnight. Should appreciate step up in trip and handle good to firm ground so with proven fitness too has an edge over plenty of these. Looks an each way banker here.

Is steadily on the upgrade and is a Listed, Group 2 and Group 3 winner who looks ready to make the step up to the top table. Has the form to win this too as had Horizon Dore 2 1/2l behind last time over nigh on this C&D and that one was fifth in this race last year and holds Royal Rhyme too so Map Of Stars already looks good enough for this. Showed a lovely turn of foot last time and won't mind the ground. Yard in good form too with four winners from last dozen sent out and though Horizon Dore can improve to close the gap my fancy can give trainer a birthday winner.

Always a risk backing horses on there reappearance runs but on all know form should be long odds on so might be a bit of value here. Twice chased home the top notch Bluestocking last back end including in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and if fit like a steering job here.

Interesting connections persevered with this one as a 4yo and despite giving weight away to all looks one to follow here. Made a pleasing belated debut at Yarmouth staying on well and the third has won well since so form could be decent. Sure to improve and yard rattled in a treble yesterday so plenty to like about this one despite cramped odds.

Was a surprise winner of this last year but that looked a strong event and though hasn't set the world alight this year is slipping to a good mark. Is 4lb higher now but caught the eye last time staying on well in a hot handicap at Aintree. Good ground suits and sure this has been the aim all season. Must go close.

I was at Sandown when this one did everything wrong but still ran a blinder to be second to Handstands shaping as if a stiffer test would suit. I told anyone who'd listen this is the Bet365 winner and owner had that lovely grey Lacdoudal to win that too. Shaped at Cheltenham in the NH Chase as if still in great form and we know that race has thrown up the Scottish and Irish National winners since. Bowen and Murphy on fire and deserve to finish the season with another big pot. I've got some tidy punts rolling in to this fella and though will get outpaced at some stage will be the strongest finisher once he sees that hill. Beat Hoe Joly Smoke at Uttoxeter and that one is a dual Sandown winner since too so all form stacking up and a confident pick for me. 16's voucher burning a big hole in my pocket!!!! Come on Sean!

Be rude not to have a saver on this one who I really liked in the NH Chase but was never really in the race and is better than that to my eye. Will relish this test and the form of that Cheltenham marathon is proving very profitable for me. Plenty of Mullins horses come here as an afterthought but this one has surely been aimed at this since that Cheltenham effort. Neil Mulholland often leaves Sandown with a marathon winner and good ground will suit this one more than most. Lightly raced for an 8yo and only 3lb higher than last win. Goes well at Cheltenham so though was only 5th here once over hurdles should relish this trip and hill. I fancied him strongly last time and he was well backed so have to save on him given I fancy Resplendent Grey so strongly . Was only a neck between them then and is a nice EW price.

It was heart in mouth time when this one made a howler at Cheltenham but he still showed his class to be a battling second to Marine Nationale who had more than a helping hand from someone more powerful than a jockey!!! Is unbeaten away from Cheltenham and is chasing a fourth win in this and must be the bet here. Plenty looked over the hill, might prefer softer going or out of their depth so come on Jonbon let's go. Won so well at Aintree last time Cheltenham blip is forgotten and I love course form here so as he's unbeaten around the track looks a good thing to me.

Won here over hurdles but has proven even better over fences and is 221 over the bigger obstacles at this track including a very taking C&D win last time. 5lb higher and up in grade but Sean Bowen has got a fine tune out of this fella since taking the reins and getting weight from all has to be feared here. Good ground holds no fear either and the Champion Jockey deserves a winner today and though I like his later mount strongly this is obviously his best chance. Proven over track and on good ground so will relish this hill. Massive chance as still looks well handicapped.

Keeps creeping up the weights but keeps running well and is very consistent. Trainer has worked the oracle with this fella since taking over and I like his chances here. Only 2lb higher than last second at Ayr and I thought then better ground would of suited. Will get that today and though drop in trip would be a slight concern this stiff track still takes some getting and he did win over it over hurdles. With the ground coming right to my eye is definitely a player here. EW saver.

Only made hurdles debut in January but had rattled off a hatrick after making a debut 5th at Huntingdon and looks the least exposed in here. Good ground suits and holds a few of these and though reopposing stablemate John Barbour is unexposed too this one is on the upgrade rapidly. Stiff track a slight concern but has won over further and comes here on a real roll. Definite player here and can go close.
