I have been a member of Olbg since September 2009 and must say it's one of the most user friendly sites out there. The fact all tips, comments, stats & performances are recorded and available for inspection it really does mean you have to bring a professional approach. You are judged on what you say and do, so I will do my best to help others along the way in our journey to prise some profit out of those miserly bookies. I am a genuine horse racing enthusiast and have spent (or some might say wasted!) over 30 years as an avid punter and the beauty is I am still learning. This site definitely helps as the information and knowledge of other members available is excellent.....and free. My other hobbies are photography and cricket, I'm the current Skipper of Seveno CC a south London friendly cricket team and we're always looking for new players. I'm also a keen photographer and have captured some great memories especially from Cheltenham and if any photos catch your eye, please get in touch. For me, all roads from about November lead to the greatest sporting event of the year, The Cheltenham Festival and I have been going nearly every year since 1998. The memories, stories, good punts & bad will make a great book one day! I always look for value and hopefully a few juicy punts click on here. I would say horse racing is my game but I do like the odd dabble in the golf, boxing & cricket markets. Enjoy the ride!

Loved this one's attitude on debut at Kempton battling on really well to win close home beating a pair who both won next time up. Looked as if a stiffer test would suit and ran well in defeat on second start when no match for a Group 3 Royal Ascot entered horse. Pulled miles clear of the third and though enjoyed the extra distance there may have found it a tad too far. Looks to have a major chance on this stiff track dropping back slightly and looks a progressive sort for the Murphy/Balding combo who are both still rattling in the winners. Has a sibling out of dam that was Group 2 placed at 9f so should find this intermediate trip bob on. Big fancy for me as has also shown can handle quickish ground and on handicap debut must go close.

With Tom Marquand operating at a 19% strike rate (24-132) at Sandown over the past 5 years and returning a whopping plus £58.85 level stakes profit he must be worth following today. Has 5 rides but this could be his best shot dropping in grade. A dual AW winner but yet to win on turf but has run well all starts being competive until the closing stages in all three runs. 7f suits and has run well at Ripon and Beverley so should handle this stiff track. Can go well from the front and as was beaten just a short head on turf debut in a class 5 is much respected.

Both this one and Jenever are C&D winners and there was just a length between them last time at Ascot but Good Earth was denied a clear run. Off the same weight difference and at double the price of his old rival he has to be the bet. Won well for today's jockey over this C&D last August and is a 1lb lower today. Is 311 at the track over the minimum distance and goes particularly well over 5f on stiff right handed tracks. Looks a banker EW punt for yard who had a winner yesterday.

I put this one up a few days ago at Goodwood but was pulled probably due to the rotten ground but I have to keep the faith here. Dam has produced three other foals to race so far and they finished 322 on their respective debuts. All three of them won on their second starts so this one is obviously bred to to be an early bloomer. One sibling has won 7 times on ground ranging from good to firm to soft to yielding so ground should all come alike. Yard have had 10 winners from their last 40 runners and this one could be a definite EW player here. If he places I'll be looking for him next time out for sure but could hit the frame on debut.

Won on debut at Ffos Las on good ground and it took 10 runs to get back to a mark that he could win of again and did so a couple of runs ago at Goodwood. The common demoninator is a sharp 5f which Windsor is and should suit. Ran well for a long way before fading late on in a good race at Newbury. Only 2lb higher than that Goodwood win and has a chance here with Cieren Fallon booked. The drier the ground gets the more I like his chances from a decent draw.

Three time winner on the all weather and has been running well this winter and looks well handicapped returning to turf. Has only run twice on the turf but given French sire maybe the decent ground was against him and heavy going here might work the oracle. Was touched off in a handicap on the AW off a mark of 77 so might be worth chancing off 76 here with different conditions today. Yard had a 25-1 winner pop up recently and owner has had success with the Dow yard. Wasn't beaten far recently over C&D and was only 1/2 length behind Mister Bluebird there who I fancy can go well earlier on the card. If he does this one might well shorten so get on early I say.

Listed winner in Ireland beating the very smart Galileo Dame who has been running well at a high level over hurdles and that shows even as a 9yo now form is still up there at a very decent level. Add in the fact he goes extremely well fresh, relishes heavy ground and is a Group 3 C&D winner he is going to be very hard to beat here. Has won on seasonal debut the last three years and is still lightly enough raced for a 9yo. Yard in good form with 7 winners from their last 43 sent out the past fortnight but 5 of those have come from the last 15 sent out since the 1st June. Must go close.

Always look for Venetia Williams when the mud is flying over obstacles so this one catches my eye here especially is totally unexposed. Was decent in France on the level including a good fourth to Bubble Gum who has ended up a Listed winner in Ireland. Won a maiden hurdle on heavy ground on debut for yard in December and has conditions to suit here. Ran credibly in the Chester Cup on fast ground which would of been a confidence booster after a heavy fall at Wincanton and can go well here. Looks on a fair mark and holds a Northumberland Plate entry so can run well here with Rossa Ryan booked.

May well of needed the run in the Listed Pretty Polly at Newmarket and should strip fitter here. Still holds a Group 1 Irish Oaks entry so would want to be getting involved here if wanting to take up that engagement. Dam has produced five winners from six foals to hit the track and this one coukd be the best of the lot. Fast ground last time might of been another valid excuse and I'm expecting better here. Of interest on debut for me as dam has produced 3 foals to hit the track and they all placed on debut finishing 322 respectively and all winning on their second starts so this one could be an early sort. One half brother was graded and listed placed and another won on soft on second start too so my fancy should handle conditions on pedigree. Is only 1lb higher than last win and hasn't really had his conditions since last Autumn. Totally exposed sort but has back class and was a Group 3 winner in Ireland and must be noted it was only last May when touched off in a Listed event at Naas trying to given an Aidan O'Brien horse rated 111 at the time 3lb. Ran behind a couple who go in the 2.45 when last of 8 on stable debut so it'll be interesting to see how they go but could improve on second start for yard. Adaptable regards ground and it catches my eye has a Wokingham entry at Royal Ascot so connections must think is a decent sort. Looks on a fair mark on best form and might surprise a few here. Won nicely on debut as a 2-year-old at Ayr and equaled that form on the next start there too on softish ground, so should handle conditions today. Hasn't set the world alight since, but the yard is in much better form now and they have gelded this son of New Bay. It's that pedigree that catches my eye, as the sire was responsible for last year's winner of this race, Persica, and the dam won over 1m2f and 1m3.5f, so the step up in trip looks sure to suit. Is a massive price considering this time last year was with Aidan O'Brien and ended up winning a nice maiden beating Mick Collins at Leopardstown. Switch to UK saw him run over 2m on debut which was obviously too far and though was only fourth of five last time behind the reopposing Candyman Stan was sent off at only 11/4 and had Ryan Moore onboard. Is much better off at the weights with that one now and has to be be backed at huge odds. Yard in good form and only imponderable is slow ground as has fast ground form and pedigree but at the prices I'll take a chance as is beautifully bred and sometimes the O'Brien cast offs are still good enough to win big pots for others.

Sire Dubawi's poor record and draw give me a slight headache but forget that as form book reads as if this one is the most likely Derby winner. Easy winner of the Ballysax on seasonal debut and look how that reads now. The runner up has won the Chester Vase, the fourth has won the Lingfield Derby trial and even the fifth has come out to finish fourth in yesterday's Oaks beaten about the same distance by Minnie Hauk as Delacroix beat her. Choice of Ryan Moore and how often does he get it wrong in the Classics? Must go close and the only one whose form doesn't really tie in with the strong favourite is Midak so I can see those two battling it out close home and I guess it's whoever's stamina holds out best. Delacroix/Midak reverse forecast wouldn't be the worst bet either to my eye.

On form has no chance but being parachuted last minute into the Derby after an unbeaten in three start to career in a race named in honour of the late great Aga Khan would make even an uneducated form student like me sit up and take notice. Surely from the embarrassment of riches connections own we all have to take note. Looks a well balanced sort who won last time at the left handed Saint-Cloud in good style on good to soft ground and looks likely to stay this far stepping up in trip. Improving sort and ground should be fine so in a very open race could be the one to keep late rapid improvement going and go well. Took 16's earlier in the week and note is being nibbled at and given that I don't fancy loads in here looks a cracking each way bet at the very least. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes off at single figures and if handling the razzmatazz on just fourth start looks a cracking EW punt at the very least.

Caught the eye last time with a nice run in 6th at York that should of put him spot in for this. Was well fancied for the Dash on this card two years ago with Oisin Murphy booked but can be forgiven that down the field effort as stalls opened a fraction late an ground was way too fast. Has conditions to suit now as goes well on soft ground and looks on a very fair mark. Inexperienced filly but could well be a bit better than a handicapper in time given form shown so far. Made a pleasing debut staying on well to be fourth at York to Betty Clover and that one was a good fourth in the Duty Free last season and has now placed at Group 2,3 and Listed level. Cut no ice on second start but caught the eye on seasonal debut at Wolverhampton when third in a novice fillies stakes. The second and fifth from that race have both won since and the actual winner and fourth have both been narrowly beaten at Windsor since too. Form stacking up and can go well on handicap debut and what catches my eye is that has an entry for Catterick on Tuesday but comes here instead despite owner having two other runners too. Could have a squeak at a decent price.

I've picked holes in all of these but something has to win and fill the frame and though Persica looks the obvious one looks too short a price for me given last run in the Lockinge when last of the field. The German raider catches my eye as a three time Group 3 winner on good to soft ground each time in native land and could go well here. Christophe Soumillion booked and is the fly in the ointment in a very tricky puzzle of a race. This likeable sort has won on the all weather, fast, good and soft ground so is very adaptable. Has a squeak as goes well fresh and though has to improve has a good attitude and could surprise a few here. What I like about her is the fact she won the Listed October Stakes at Ascot on final start last season and last year's winner of this Breege was beaten a head in the 2023 renewal of that race herself. One of my favourite Epsom horses in recent years and won this race last year to add to his 2021 success in this race too. Has slipped back to same winning mark at last year and has been prepped to peak now. Ran a similar race at Chester last time as he did last year on his way to winning this and looks a bombproof EW banker. 7f on this specialist track is ideal for him and we know he'll handle conditions better than most. I'm not too far from Epsom and the more rain that falls the more I love his chances. Ran well enough in this year's renewal of that race and seems to have been kept fresh for this. Three big wins at Goodwood on soft and heavy ground suggests the more rain that falls the more his chances increase. Has fair course form too as was 2nd over C&D on sole visit to the track in 2023 again on softish ground. Is only 4lb higher than last win at Goodwood in October and the fact that he beat my Nap of the day Rhoscolyn there the form link means I have to back this fella today. Last year's winner Two Tempting is very tempting but is in a much stiffer mark here and will do well to fend off some unexposed sorts here. The one I like most is this one who won over C&D last time and looks most progressive. Half brother to the tip top Grade 1 winner Bradsell and must have more to come. Has placed form on softish ground but dam was a 7f Listed winner on heavy ground so there is a good chance this one will relish conditions and is already proven at the track. Early booking at a low weight of Hollie Doyle knocked my eye out earlier in the week and the 12-1 voucher is burning a hole in my proverbial pocket now! Connections are mopping up the classics and I can't bring myself not to back this unbeaten colt. Travels so well and seems to hit the line hard enough to suggest stamina could well be untapped over middle distances. Showed a good attitude to touch it out at Newmarket in the 2000 guineas and if can be nursed into this for the bulk of the race then can power home and keep the Godolphin resurgence going. Yard have won this 9 times and jockey four in the last 20 years and can improve their runners a ton for a seasonal reappearance. French favourite is much feared but the more rain we get, I'm not a million miles from Epsom and are getting plenty, the more I like the deeper stamina of Jan Breughal. Has to improve to beat the classy French raider, especially on a line through Deira Mile but he will, and can prove a tough nut to crack as after just 5 career starts could well prove a Group 1 horse this year.

Won over 3m at Cork in April before finishing 3rd over 4f shorter and then followed that up by finishing 3rd again last time over 4f further. Dropping back to 3m makes sense and if that was the trip last time may well of beaten Ontheropes even further and at double the price of that one looks the value. Trainer going well with his few runners and though this one has contributed mostly to the following stats three winners from just six runners this year and the other three finishing 433 suggests this one looks the EW play back over a more suitable trip.

Only 2lb higher than winning very impressively at Leopardstown over this trip on good ground. May well of failed to stay last time over further so drop back to this 7f looks sensible. Must go very close in a race lacking serious depth as plenty come in here in the doldrums. Unless one has been plotted up looks the most likely winner and has to hit the frame at the very least.

C&D winner who should strip fitter for seasonal debut here and has to be of interest in this. Was only 6th of 7 in the Group 1 Cheveley Park at Newmarket last backend but that is proving strong form this season given Lake Victoria has come out and won the Irish 1000 guineas and Babouche has dropped in trip to win a Group 3. The Aga Khan operation are running at a very impressive strike rate of 57% at Chantilly this season returning a plus £14.60 lsp from their 8 winners from just 14 runners. One of them will win today and I think it will be this smart filly.

Camille Pissarro was my fancy in the French 1000 guineas and did me a favour hitting the frame but though shaped as if would get the trip I still have a niggling doubt based on pedigree. Detain was behind that day but was a huge eyecatcher staying on too in good style and can reverse the places here with the extra distance. Christophe Soumillion switches from Camille Pissarro because Ryan Moore comes back for his retainer but Soumi should know how to reel in the O'Brien filly this time if sitting closer to the pace and coming home late and fast which she did last time. Well entered up so must be well thought of and Soumi a good booking as is 14-51 at a 27% strike rate with a very healthy plus £31.90 lsp at Chantilly this season. Looks an EW banker here to my eye with yard going well too.

Take the favourite out of this who has fitness to prove this looks very open and I like this one for a place at nice odds. Has improved since dropping to sprint trips and beat the decent Keran at Deauville in a Listed event and that one has since run well in a Group 3 behind the very progressive Mgheera. Ran into the smart Lazzat last time and wouldn't have to find much to feature here stepping back up in grade. Likes soft ground but has won on good ground and stays well so a fast run race will help and I can see this one hitting the frame.

The market looks wrong to me here as though Focus is respected a softish ground maiden win doesn't compare to my fancy's strong British form. Only just got up on debut at Leicester before getting nutted close home at Ascot and both of those runs on stiff right handed tracks suggest Chantilly's galloping course going the same way will be spot on. Quick ground wouldn't be an issue either and is a strong fancy for yard who do well in France with their sprinters.

Catches my eye dropping back to hurdles sole career win was over hurdles in a maiden. Has run well here before over fences and was second here over roughly this trip. Very average race bar the favourite who doesn't look bombproof and trainer slapping the cheek pieces back can hopefully bring some improvement.

Was a smart 2yo who won at Group 3 level and chased home the very smart subsequent Derby winner City Of Troy in the Group 1 Dewhurst but didn't go on as a 3yo as once promised. Maybe it was the trip or just needed time but kept good company and may well still prove a smart horse. Started this campaign in fine style making all over C&D beating in fact last year's winner of this race Tiber Flow. Drop in trip seemed to bring the improvement and though this is a stronger race can go well again in the hope he'll get back up to Group 1 level this season.

I think this one is a standout bet here in this race that doesn't quite look the deepest to me and certainly isn't any stronger than the races this fella has been competing in this season. Has unfortunately bumped into American Affair the last twice including over C&D and has clocked very fast times in defeat. That horse has since run well enough in the Group 2 Temple Stakes and will win a big pot this year I'm sure so JM Jungle's form stands out. Is a C&D winner to boot and though up another 3lb from last effort could be classy enough to handle the rise. Must go close and was nearly the Nap of the day for me but that honour goes to Shagraan who was just behind this one at York last time and could make the form look much stronger about twenty minutes earlier over at Haydock.

Was very consistent last year running some cracking races in good company and got stronger and better as the season went on. Won twice last year including over C&D in a very fast time with the likes of American Affair behind and that one has come out this season to make the form look strong. Has run well on both starts this season including when fourth to American Affair at York last time. Yard starting to click and had a nice double on Wednesday so all in all this one looks to have a lovely chance from a fair draw and should handle the step up in grade. Real soft ground would be a worry if it rained but dam was a 7f winner on heavy ground so should be ok. Lots to like and I think is a decent EW play at the prices.

Dam was a fair sort and ended up a 10f Listed fillies race winner on fast ground as a 5yo so chances are this one may want another furlong in time but shaped as an eyecatcher on debut. Stayed on well at Yarmouth once he realised what to do and effort can be marked up as had a terrible draw that day. Yard going well with their 3yo's on turf this season as have had 9 winners at a healthy 23% strike rate in addition to 11 places from those 39 runners. Many have improved for a run and won second time out so plenty to like about this one who if improving for debut is a danger to all. This looks a good race on paper but I like this one's chances.

Second to Kyprios last time in the Saval Beg reads well and this likeable sort must have a squeak if stamina holds out as has fair form in the book. Was only 6th of 7 on start before at Newbury but was flanked by a subsequent Group 2 winnner and one who had subsequent Brigadier Gerard winner Almaqam 1/2l behind on next start. Ran in last year's Derby so must be highly thought of and as is by a Sadlers Wells mare is worth a crack at 2m. That dam has produced 7 winners from 9 that have hit the track though not many tried extreme distances but Dallas Star shaped as if could stay 2m last time behind the top notch Kyprios. Looks a win or bust bet for me.
