I have been a member of Olbg since September 2009 and must say it's one of the most user friendly sites out there. The fact all tips, comments, stats & performances are recorded and available for inspection it really does mean you have to bring a professional approach. You are judged on what you say and do, so I will do my best to help others along the way in our journey to prise some profit out of those miserly bookies. I am a genuine horse racing enthusiast and have spent (or some might say wasted!) over 30 years as an avid punter and the beauty is I am still learning. This site definitely helps as the information and knowledge of other members available is excellent.....and free. My other hobbies are photography and cricket, I'm the current Skipper of Seveno CC a south London friendly cricket team and we're always looking for new players. I'm also a keen photographer and have captured some great memories especially from Cheltenham and if any photos catch your eye, please get in touch. For me, all roads from about November lead to the greatest sporting event of the year, The Cheltenham Festival and I have been going nearly every year since 1998. The memories, stories, good punts & bad will make a great book one day! I always look for value and hopefully a few juicy punts click on here. I would say horse racing is my game but I do like the odd dabble in the golf, boxing & cricket markets. Enjoy the ride!

I'm hoping Blake runs well as that will be a pointer to this one's chances who caught the eye staying into third the last time seen in a competitive handicap on the level. Yard does well with these dual purpose types and this one run two crackers at Galway in the summer in a matter of days winning once before finishing 4th in competitive races. Can be forgiven poor effort after those back to back efforts and shrewd yard in cracking form with four winners on the bounce from last four sent out. Relishes soft ground and no forlorn hope here despite rise in grade. Jockey going well too and has two nice rides today.

Was a horse I followed last year as looked a very progressive sort who relished a stiff 3m-3m2f and won twice last season. Had a break for some time and is lightly enough raced for his age and did win here over 3m2f a couple of years ago. Will handle the track and the heavy going and is 2lb lower than last win now. Was sent off a well backed favourite for the Eider on last start last season and should strip fitter now for seasonal reappearance. Not one to give up on yet and looks well handicapped to me and given track, trip and ground suits can go well now had a pipe opener.

Was decent on the flat in England for Peter Chapple-Hyam and relished soft ground, winning twice. Finished English career with a good 6th in the Old Rowley Cup just in front of Give It To Me OJ and that one had taken to hurdling like a duck to water and is rated 143 now. Has run well on all starts for Noel Meade and won a fair maiden hurdle last time after getting a flat race in the steward's room before that. Has a touch of speed and relishes soft ground so though up in grade should run well for shrewd yard.

Unexposed sort who looks on a fair mark here. Holds a Welsh National entry and can go well for yard in fair form with they're staying chasers. Caught the eye at Cheltenham staying on strongly the furthest he went and can improve further now getting a marathon trip. Ran well again last time in the Troytown and got going there late on too so again looked as if this trip would suit. Out of an Indian River mare so that pedigree screams plenty of stamina and with a low weight and a top jockey has a fair chance to break maiden tag over fences.

I'll never forget the way this horse bolted up last year here and I was lucky enough to winkle him out and back him and though won again after that romp has been disappointing since. However worth a second look as if recapturing that form of that handicap hurdle win off a 14lb lower mark by a whopping 25 lengths must have a chance. Handles these stiff tracks and relishes heavy ground so must have a chance. Has the top notch DJ onboard whose claim is robbery and he did ride a second for this yard earlier this month in a similar conditional jockey's race. Should strip fitter for seasonal debut and would win this well if back to best.

Has improved for a step up in trip and looks a progressive young staying chaser who can take this race on the way to better things. Given his Newbury form this lightly raced sort may not of looked out of place in the Coral Gold Cup down there in Berkshire itself. Finished last season with a second at Listed level in Ireland and looks thrown in here to my untrained eye. Stamina proven now and in a race that looks distinctly winnable against some exposed sorts I like his chances a lot. Yard in fair form and I've noted Richie McLernon's riding in recent weeks as he's going well too. Big chance.

Would be a proper trends buster being an Irish raider and with stamina to prove but I've long had in mind this one has a big pot in him and is well overpriced. Has been campaigned over hurdles and maybe chase mark has been looked after and he slips in here off a handy mark. I backed him when he won at Cheltenham in January when he ran with the choke home but rattled home under a Bowen masterclass and won despite a horlicks at the last and stamina looked his forte. Has a nice bit of chase course form here too when second in a novice chase over just under 3m last December and that looks better now that the 4th Rock My Way has bolted up in a Berkshire National at Ascot recently. Trainer had a second in this race in 2023 and I'd put this up ew if I could too and I think he can outrun his odds as this looks a proper plan. 9 x 7yo's have win this in the last 20 years too so he's the right age at least!

I was at Sandown last December when this dashing grey was the last leg of a four timer punt for me and would of landed a tidy touch but he never jumped a twig before storming up the hill to be an agonising second. That though marked him down as a Bet365 horse for me who was reincarnation of the owner's legend and one of my all time faves Lacdoudal. He duly obliged and landed me the redemption punt and comes here as a bombproof EW play. Won despite trip being too short on seasonal reappearance and despite stiff mark has improved physically this year. Will relish the long home straight herd and if anywhere near jumping the last will power home and go very close with the re-applied cheekpieces he wore for the first time when winning in the spring at Sandown. Massive chance for me.

Lumped a big weight to win nicely when last seen at Ffos Las beating a subsequent winner and though off a 6lb higher mark today could go well. Another lightly raced sort for the yard and acted around Ffos Las so won't mind this venue either. I'm hoping our very own Viyanni runs a big race but I worry the ground might be just too testing for our fella but that holds no fears for the Murphy inmate who has a fine troupe out today. Coukd be laid out for this like plenty of others from the yard are today and in open race looks on a fair mark. I worry about stable form for Indemnity and the way this one won when we last saw him marks him down as potentially smart. Interesting yard start off here for this lightly raced 7yo and I like his chances with track and going looking ideal for this nice sort.

Is fast becoming another one of my favourites and as I latched onto him early doors he has repaid that faith in bundles. Unbeaten and won the often much maligned Challow in taking fashion at Newbury last season before winning the Turners at the Cheltenham Festival. That race throws up Champion Hurdlers and Hardy Eustace became my favourite ever horse treading the same path this fella is doing. Has the requisite speed and stamina and hurdles slickly too so looks the new kid on the block. Reminds me of Rock On Ruby who was another with the same attributes and this race will tell us if he is a champion hurdler like others including Istabraq and Faugheen who also did the double. The Challow is actually working out okayish and the Skeltons are dominating our Saturdays these days. Stiff track will suit and Harry Skelton sitting motionless for as long as possible is a sight to behold. I think he wins this on the snaff as I haven't seen such a strong traveller with a nice turn of foot since my old hero Hardy Eustace was doing his stuff. The New Dawn for me.

Consistent sort when completing and was unlucky to be brought down when travelling well enough when last seen last season. Was giving lumps of weight to the eventual winner Loverdose so off levels here must be fancied to finish in front of that one. EW player for sure and though fitness had to be taken trust that's the same for many and has gone well fresh before. Returned after a break of 607 days in 2024 to beat Wal Bucks who I really like today too and this lightly raced 8yo can go well today. Soft or heavy ground would not be a worry and looks on a fair mark for seasonal return. Must go well given unexposed profile and fair record when reappearing after breaks.

Progressive sort and only 3lb higher than winning a novice handicap chase at Haydock on soft ground last December and shaped that day as if a test of stamina would suit. Ran ok on seasonal debut when a well fancied favourite at Kelso when fourth to the decent veteran Ashtown Lad. The quickish ground there probably didn't suit and will enjoy any dig in the ground here. This doesn't look the deepest renewal and this unexposed sort can enjoy the step up in trip and run a big race for last year's winning owner of this race JP McManus. Like his chances a lot here.

Mainly consistent sort who on last start came from the clouds to win a valuable chase at the track and reeled in the subsequent Paddy Power Gold Cup runner up Vincenzo on the long home straight. That form has also been boosted by the third Saint Segal who is 112 from three runs since and plenty of others. Shapes as if step up in trip will suit and though 6lb higher today looks laid out for this and did win first time up last season so can go well fresh. Has won at Ffos Las and run well at Aintree too so these flat galloping tracks suit but might not want too much rain. Looks to have a cracking chance anyway and another stonewall EW play.

I was at Newbury when this one was a bumper horse making his first steps in the game and twice caught my eye finishing strongly to finish second in two course bumpers. One of those days was atrocious and he showed a good attitude to slog it home in bad ground. Has won up to 2m5f since and as I noted him down as a stayer he should relish this trip even better and we know he likes this course and won't mind the ground. Has gone well fresh and was only just denied first time up last season by the smart Gentleman Bill. Looks a bombproof ew play and I can see him powering home stepping into handicap company. Totally unexposed as a stayer and there seems plenty of stamina in the pedigree as dam is related to some strong stayer. Dam sire Westerner in pedigree may mean the softer the ground the better too. Impose Toi looks all class and bolted up last time but will do well to hold off last year's winner of this who looks all stamina and ground it out well last year. Similar conditions and though looks a tad deeper renewal than last year's small field affair Sean Bowen will be keen to draw the sting out of his main rival who though stayed well last time may not be the most copper bottomed if it turns into a slog. Made a satisfactory return finishing strongly and though only a head in front of the reopposing Take No Chances might of won a bit easier if jumping the last better. Drift in price s slight worry but it might look massive value as I believe he is the strongest finisher in this today and doesn't have to make the running if getting a strong pace to aim at.

Is better on better ground but has won on heavy so going shouldn't hinder her and showed quality form last season in good company. Finished the season beating the decent Brides Hill and on that form may well of finished second to Dinoblue in the mares chase at the Cheltenham Festival. Flat track should suit and made a nice seasonal debut chasing home the ex-Willie Mullins horse Paggane home in a Listed Chase at Carlisle giving that one 4lbs. Faye Bromley's new import had since won again and my fancy will be happier going left handed again as did jump slightly left last time. Should strip fitter now too and on form has a cracking chance. Regent's Stroll is all over a chaser and can give my fancy a race but Wendigo edges it with fitness and experience over fences in the bank. Chase debut when just denied by Wade Out is top form, that has been franked since and I think Wade Out will win a big pot this season. Led a long way out and looked like being swallowed up late home, but to my eye pulled out a bit more when they got on his quarters. Improving sort from inform yard and proved these flat galloping tracks suit up in Liverpool. Decent hurdler and only flops were at the big spring festivals but kept good company and has always been highly thought off. Ran a blinder on first start of the season, pulling miles clear of the third which was his chase debut and first run after a wind op. Jumped and travelled well there and though beaten by the reopposing Lightning Flash by 4l can turn that form round here. His opponent there has disappointed since where my fancy has won nicely at Huntingdon again jumping well and travelling sweetly. 6lb rise makes life harder but looks a smart sort and I was at Newbury when noting this in a bumper as a future chaser. How good does this one's Aintree Grade 1 win over Grey Dawning last spring now? He proved his stamina for 3m that day too so though this looks a prep for the King George I think he can serve it up to Fact To File here especially if ground is really testing. Has gone well fresh before too and is hard to believe he is only a 7yo as seems to have been around for ever. Can prove that just a stronger finisher here and though was beaten by Fact To File in a match race in 2024 didn't seem right that day and us better away from Leopardstown anyway. A race that will line up all the protagonists for the big pots this season and I fancy Gaelic Warrior to really make the dour stayers struggle as is not devoid of pace himself and can either make all or track Fact To File and prove too strong close home.

With yard in flying form now, they've nailed 15 winners from 50 runners this month alone he looks sure to run well today. Ascot debut but has good form on stiff right handed tracks and first time cheek pieces are slapped on so hopefully they can eke out a tad more improvement. He's 2lb lower than last time, but only 2lb higher than when winning last year's Haldon Cup beating the tip top Djelo and the first time tongue tie worked the oracle that day. The Skeltons have been in smashing form this season and have set their stall out to smash the possibility of a Mullins challenge for the trainer's title out of the water by landing the big Saturday pots so I'll say Grey Dawning will be spot on. Second to Royale Pagaille in this last year but that was on his ground and on slightly better going I'm wagering Grey Dawning will hold on this time being a year older too. Obviously Loriko could be anything for the Skeltons who can do no wrong but in the form book my fancy looks sure to go close. Finished 4th in debut in a very strong bumper to Idaho Sun and 8 of the 10 horses in that field have won races since including the Tizzard horse. He has won at Exeter and will handle this similar stiff right handed course. Bumped into another good sort last time in Kingston Queen and sets a high standard. Has proven stamina too and yard are flying with 8 winners from last 20 or so runners and this one is a strong fancy.

Makes debut on this type of surface but made a pleasing enough all weather debut at Southwell last time out. Caught the eye too when just behind Dividend at Royal Ascot and enjoys a big weight pull here. Obviously was again behind that one last time but on turf form can turn the form around and at the prices is big value. Definite EW squeak here and given the prices must be back because if improving for this track is a danger to all.

With a course record of 132 from just three starts including in a marathon slog must go well here given will strip fitter for pipe owner recently. Won in December in 2023 after second start so can think will improve for a spin. Don't forget it was only January this one slogged it out with the very smart Passing Well at Lingfield and beat him a head mikes clear of the third. Stays all day and will live the ground. EW squeak.

Record fresh is good as has won first time up in 2022 and 2023 and only found the tip top Enurguneme too good on seasonal spin last season. Is adaptable regards trip and is the class angle here and though last year's winner Found A Fifty has a fitness edge he'll do well to give this mare 7lb. Finished off last season by rattling off a trio of classy races and will be hard to beat here. With the non runners I'm surprised she is not odds on.

I've read that the horse this one beat last time in a Tipperary maiden hurdle, Letos is very highly thought off by the Anthony Mullins team. My fancy booted that one out the way by 6.5l and the fact Letos has won since beating a 111 rated horse suggests this one could be decent. Unlucky to be carried out on debut under rules and was a head second on bad ground in his point to point. Bred to stay all day so looks a good thing here in this class.

Had the decent John The Diva well beat when second when last seen over fences and that one is a decent tool who had franked the form since. My fancy has fitness to prove but dropping back to hurdles shouldn't be a problem. Good claimer on board and looks on a fair mark for shrewd yard considering last run over hurdles was a cracking effort to be second in a big field handicap at Gowran Park just beaten a head. Must go close.

Caught the eye in fifth start for connections when improving rapidly on soft ground to win a handicap hurdle well. Ran well again on next start when stepping up in trip to run an encouraging fourth to a fair sort called The Truant. The form has been franked since as the third has won a beginners chase and the second has gone close again since too. Will handle the ground and we know should stay so a worthy favourite for me.

I've read might not like the ground but dam has produced the very smart Colreevy who win on heavy and was a Grade 1 winning mare. Jockey/Trainer combo demands respect and did plod on into fourth on debut on soft before winning well on second start. Favourite obviously well touted but this well named sort looks the EW play and is drifting to too big a price to ignore.

Beat the very impressive winner of yesterday's closing bumper on the card Celestial Tune easily on sole start in big field Punchestown NH Flat race in the spring. That form is working out well and the 2nd-5th home that day have won 8 races now between them since. Must be smart and though has fitness to prove it is very interesting shrewd connections have targeted this prize on seasonal debut. Give the way my Nap bolted up yesterday I have to Nap the horse who beat that decent filly today. Yard could be in better form but I like the look of this one who won his PTP easily too and is nicely bred. Out of a Flemensfirth mare should suggest the heavy ground won't be an issue and can step up in class here.

Now I do think Bud Fox looks a good thing given the way form is working out and only doubt is stable form and also if needing the run there might be an EW bet to be had. Step forward this one who has improved with each run and was a good second to a horse who has gone in again. Interesting trainer Thomas Cooper takes on Bud Fox again as he knows what he's up against after Celestial Tune chased home the favourite at Punchestown. Harry Cobden a very interesting booking as he is 5-15 at a 33% strike in bumpers alone this season. French pedigree suggests will handle the ground and if any chinks in the fave coukd be the one to cause the upset. EW value anyway if Bud Fox does dot up.

Yard won this in 2017 and 2019 and I fancy both from stable to go well and though I do like Helnwein's chances have to save on this unexposed sort who Tom Cannon has chosen to ride. Got found out in Grade 1 and 2 company so dropping into a handicap makes sense. Has won over this trip on heavy ground at the stiff Sandown so drop in trip makes sense too. Could be well in and that defeat at Sandown of the smart Diva Luna looks decent now given that one is Grade 2 placed over hurdles and a Listed Chase winner since. Won on debut so can go well fresh and worth a punt.

Has run well on seasonal debuts the last two years winning on soft ground in 2023 at Warwick in a novice hurdle and running second to the smart Telepathique in a chase in 2024. Didn't cut it as a chaser and is a better hurdler with some cracking big field handicap form including when beating the decent Be Aware at Sandown a couple of years ago. Was an eyecatching second last time was seen in the Swinton staying on well to nearly catch Our Champ and off just a 1lb higher looks a fair EW poke given can go well fresh. Handles heavy ground, will relish a strong pace and looks well handicapped to me so must be on the shortlist.

Would be long by odds innit we knew was fit and raring to go dropping into a handicap and I'm willing to take the chance as we all know he'll either outclass these or be minded for another day if he can't lay up with the sorts who like to force the pace. He is a Ryanair winner and was 5th in a Gold Cup as well as a place behind Broadway Boy at the December meeting over a marathon trip so does stay. Won't mind the mud and the Skeltons have been different gravy this week. Will travel well to my reckoning and has run well fresh before so if ready to roll will take some beating.

Progressive sort who will stay given has won over 2m6f and 2m7f over hurdles and is bred to be a 3m chaser as is out of a Beneficial mare too. Last year a 6yo won this and this likely improver fits the bill off what looks a very fair mark. Handles heavy ground and though jumping coukd be better is learning in the job and good go close here. Stable form a slight worry for me but a winner has to come soon and I think this one looks the most likely winner given profile. Has gone well in a big field as wasn't disgraced in the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival but has always looked a chaser in the making and can land this pot getting so much weight from some fancied rivals. Been well backed and like his chances.

Second season chaser who has been second five times from eight starts for nes yard but doesn't look a dodgepot as had bumped into some nice sorts. Was second to the smart but ill fated Casa No Mento on last start and off the same mark must be respected. Was second at Chepstow the time before and form of that effort is ok as the third and fourth have both won since. Loves heavy ground and is lightly enough raced for a 9yo who looks a chaser on paper. Out of a Flemensfirth mare also suggests even if ground turns bottomless he'll be okay and though doesn't win much looks a dour type for this slog. Trainer could do with a winner but two of her recent runners were hacking up by a distance only to tip up late on. Looks solid to me and will love the ground off a fair mark.

Might be a travelling companion for the more fancied stable runner earlier but had to be interesting making the journey over too in a winnable race. Half brother to Git Maker who is decent and was placed in a Scottish National so chances are the Irish raider will stay all day. Is 1/1 over fences in France and handles heavy and soft ground so could be well handicapped. Yard 3/3 with their British NH raiders this season and this race doesn't look the deepest so anything unexposed must be of interest.

With course form reading 13212 including one of those seconds over C&D off just a 4lb lower mark and a win on heavy ground I can't believe he is not favourite. Was yard's last winner and though that was in February a few have run well in defeat since. This is a step up in grade but off a featherweight and the ability to stay up this stiff hill finish blindfolded I'm wagering has been laid out for this. EW play for me as will stay all day and is a safe jumper. Might get outclassed and outpaced at some stage but will be staying on better than most in my opinion.

Very interesting on stable debut and given has plenty of experience in native France on heavy ground should be fine with the going. Yard's British raiders have to be respected and over the last 5 years they are 10-45 at a 22% strike rate in hurdles races in the UK. Those stats are even better this season as Joseph O'Brien is 3-3 with his British hurdle raiders. Looks on a fair mark in this handicap for one with plenty of experience who was placed in Listed company and has won over 2m3f back home. Can go well.

Had decent point to point form as chased home the decent now trained by David Pipe Gentleman Toboot on debut. Did win last PTP start before transfer to current trainer and made a winning start on soft ground in his bumper at Fontwell. Was outclassed in competitive Aintree bumper on next start but returned this season to make a very satisfactory hurdles debut when chasing home the smart Idaho Sun who looks a decent tool for Harry Fry. Has handled Fontwell's stiff finish twice now so should be okay here and looks a progressive type who can go close in this. Entered up in a lesser grade on Wednesday so interesting connections think he's good enough for this level. Yard in decent form too.
