I have been a member of Olbg since September 2009 and must say it's one of the most user friendly sites out there. The fact all tips, comments, stats & performances are recorded and available for inspection it really does mean you have to bring a professional approach. You are judged on what you say and do, so I will do my best to help others along the way in our journey to prise some profit out of those miserly bookies. I am a genuine horse racing enthusiast and have spent (or some might say wasted!) over 30 years as an avid punter and the beauty is I am still learning. This site definitely helps as the information and knowledge of other members available is excellent.....and free. My other hobbies are photography and cricket, I'm the current Skipper of Seveno CC a south London friendly cricket team and we're always looking for new players. I'm also a keen photographer and have captured some great memories especially from Cheltenham and if any photos catch your eye, please get in touch. For me, all roads from about November lead to the greatest sporting event of the year, The Cheltenham Festival and I have been going nearly every year since 1998. The memories, stories, good punts & bad will make a great book one day! I always look for value and hopefully a few juicy punts click on here. I would say horse racing is my game but I do like the odd dabble in the golf, boxing & cricket markets. Enjoy the ride!

Definitely a work in progress as has some physical scope and on just third start stepping up in trip looks sure to handle this class. Won on debut despite probably finding Epsom sharp enough but improved on that effort with a staying on third to Opera Ballo at Sandown. The form has been well boosted since with the winner going in again and this step up trip looks tailor made. Must go close as best yet to come from this scopey son of Kameko.

Has a bit of ground to make up on Indalimos from their Chantilly clash but seems to be improving as went on to be third to the talented Qilin Queen in a Group 2 at Longchamp. Shapes as if the little bit further here today will suit and if improving just a tad again can get closer to Indalimos today. At the prices looks the EW value anyway. Yard in good form as have had a few winners from 12 runners this August. On just 5th start must have more to come.

My one worry with More Thunder is, will get the strong pace he obviously needs? ...and for me Spy Chief is the no-brainer EW alternative. Has stepped up well since switching to the turf and in three runs on grass has shown plenty of ability. Won at Yarmouth before running a cracking second at Royal Ascot in the Jersey and that form is ok as the 3rd, 4th & 6th have won since including the latter at Group 3 level. Not disgraced in the July Cup at Group 1 level and has speed and stays this trip. Has plenty of Group 1 entries who looks all over a 7f horse and to my mind should be shorter for shrewd yard. Ground and trip look bob on and can hopefully hold off More Thunder's late rattle.

Was less than a length behind Mister Sox over C&D last time and that effort can be marked up as came late on the scene from a poor draw. Was actually sent off favourite then, and is 2lb better now and can reverse the placings. Went well for the 5lb claimer last time and another talented apprentice is onboard today. Form of last effort could look even better if old boy Fortamour goes well in the previous race as was a place behind my fancy then. Doesn't win often enough but can go close today with yard in good form too, as highlighted by the fact they have had two winners and three places from just 9 sent out in August. Stable's last 4 runners at Ripon have actually finished 2331 and I'm loving this one's chances of rattling home late on to go very very close. Must hit the frame.

Is a standing dish at Ripon and has placed on all four starts here over C&D this season to add to his 6 C&D wins. The last of those was last August and as is now a 1lb lower must be on the radar today. Looks ready to strike and though a 9yo still shows plenty of dash. Draw the only imponderable but as could run around blindfolded must hit the frame at the very least.

Made 2yo debut in a very good maiden that threw up a couple of Royal Ascot winners and plenty of others who boosted the form. Made no mistake on 3yo debut stepping up in trip on the all weather and is obviously a potential stayer of the future. 3yo form since is excellent as in 3 runs has chased home Puppet Master who is going to prove is a St Leger horse today, ran a cracker in the Derby and chased home a subsequent Group 1 winner in Scandinavian. Taking on elders here but has arguably the best form. Must go close as in all those races shaped as if a trip is what he wants.

Up in grade but getting so much weight from all has to be the play here, given ran a cracker last time to be second in a handicap over C&D. Was just denied by a neck by the in form Twirler and nudged up just 1lb had to be of interest here. Yard have had just the 4 winners from 32 sent in August but plenty have run well too including a pair who beaten a short head and neck respectively yesterday at Chelmsford. Did win on the AW with a hood on before losing his way a bit so it was good to see him bounce back to form last time and we know he'll handle the track. Must go close.

Favourite looks a good thing here as made a taking debut but does have to give 7lb to all rivals. For me my fancy could be the EW angle or Angel is this case....as has run well on both starts and should improve again dropping in grade. Was 5th in a Class 2 maiden fillies race on heavy ground last time, and did well in the circumstances as still showed inexperience. The 3rd in that race had bolted up by 5l since and back on better ground I think this one is way too big a price. Should handle the track as went well enough at Goodwood and can give the favourite most to do.

Drops in grade here after a fair fourth in a Class 4 Nursery at Newbury and probably did too much too soon and if less keen here must go well. Won a maiden at Chepstow the time before and though that left handed undulating track isn't as idiosyncratic at this place, it bodes well that my fancy should be ok here. Form of that Chepstow maiden win is ok as the 3rd & 4th have won since and the 6th has been beaten a nose by the 86 rated Boiling Over subsequently too. All that suggests this horse is on a fair mark too. Yard going well and have had 4 winners from 15 sent out in August and I like this one's chances.

Goes well for Soumi who has been onboard regularly and steered him to all four career victories. Has a bit to find with Rayveka on a line through Shadow Of Light but comes here on the up and always goes well at this track. Slight drop shouldn't be a bother as well entered up in top 6f Group 1 sprints including on Qipco Champions Day taking on elders so connections much think they have a top sprinter on their hands. Won on third start last season so obviously might need a couple of runs before he is bob on and after a couple of spins this season looks ready to strike. Was a couple of lengths behind Arisaig on seasonal debut at Sandown but should strip fitter now and is a couple of pounds better off so should reverse that form. Disappointed at Goodwood last time but anyone can be forgiven a poor run at that scalectric track and on a more conventional course here can bounce back. Looks on a fair mark and with Hollie Doyle booked, who should always be followed on Shergar Cup day, and first time blinkers on I'm expecting a huge run. Ground, trip and stiff track look ideal and I'll be shocked if doesn't hit the frame at the very least.

I went through this race with a fine tooth comb and could of tipped up many for one reason or another but in the end plumped for this classy individual who really caught the eye at Naas on seasonal debut. Bounced away there over 5f and step back up in trip looks prefect especially as is a Group 1 winning 2yo on this card over C&D 2 years ago. Has a bit to find with Kind Of Blue who was runner up in this race last year, but that one has looked tricky this season. My fancy though loves it around here as course form of 11137 shows, and is actually unbeaten over 6f here in two runs. Has been given a nice break and given record fresh is no bad thing, so looks laid out for this. Looks another cast iron each way play and beat last year's winner of this raceGivemethebeatboys in a Gp 3 earlier in the year last year and on that form should beat Kind Of Blue, so must be the value at a bigger price currently.

Had been campaigned solely at 7f and solely on the all weather but really caught my eye dropped to 6f on turf debut at Leicester when a close second. Followed that up by romping away with a competitive handicap at Newmarket landing me a right 12-1 ante post punt, and the kudos of top tipper when marking a mate's card on a work's jolly to Newmarket! 6f on decent ground on a stiff track seem to be the perfect scenario and he gets that again here. Despite 11lb hike I have to stay loyal as looks better than a handicapper to me and though this type of event is fraught with danger due to team tactics he looks so progressive, that he could bolt up here. I love Haatem who is as game as a pebble and though had reservations about his stamina at Royal Ascot still had a few quid on when he won there. Now stamina is sort of proven can go well, but for me at this trip Royal Dubai is the more solid and though looking exposed he won really well for new yard on stable debut at Newbury last time. Has to prove that was no fluke and though taken a fair old hike in the weights, on the form book has the beating of Haatem anyway. Had Enfjaar over 6l behind last time and that one was just over a length behind Haatem at Royal Ascot. Given that line of form, current well being and the fact yard won this race last year too I'm all in Royal Dubai who should be shorter than Haatem so must be the value bet at current odds.

Cheap sort and yard hardly knocking in winners yet alone 2yo's but on pedigree I like this one who may well be an early sort and one who could be the fly in the ointment. Dam won on debut over 7f before finishing second in a Listed race which obviously saw her packed off to stud. She has produced 3 other foals to hit the track and they finished 224 respectively on their debuts. A debutant won this year beating the second and third who had two runs each and that could easily happen again here. Studying the runners I'm hopeful I've landed on the right one but she looks too big a price anyway.

Came good this time last year on the all weather and though hasn't won on turf for over 4 years hasn't tried it much and might be worth a punt here. Actually caught the eye last time on first turf start for some time on stable debut after another switch of yards and stayed on well over a mile. Was sandwiched that day by two subsequent winners so form looks okay. Shaped as if step up in trip would suit and did place over 1m2f on turf at Newbury on sole try at the trip. Ran well twice at this track as a 2yo for Richard Hannon and though pretty exposed could be too big a price if Baker can eke out some improvement in just second start for him. Consistent sort who I've always liked and despite lofty mark has to be respected here. Still in cracking form despite a 7yo these days and ran well in a Listed event last time. Was just behind JM Jungle at York then and that one has boosted the form with a win at Group 2 level here this week. Has actually finished runner up in this event the last two years and despite a stiffer mark of 5lb higher than last year is a 1lb better off with Get It for that 1/2l defeat. Could make it third time lucky this time and is a nice price at double the odds of the returning champ Get It. Must go close and will back EW as looks a knocking bet and was close to being the EW nap of the day. Trainer George Baker won this last year with Get It after picking him up from another yard and taking him to Bahrain. Get it has gone on to prove a top sprinter breaking the course record at Ascot and winning the Wokingham. I'm not suggesting Desert Cop will do the same but it catches my eye this recruit from Andrew Balding's yard is following the same path. Only 7th start for Baker but he too was sent to Bahrain and has actually finished in front of Get It 4 times out there. Good draw here with loads of fancied ones around him including Get It. Won a good Newmarket handicap last May beating Apollo One, runner up in this the last two years and off just a 3lb higher mark that form would give him a right chance here. Type to pop up one day in a big race and is bred to be a top sprinter out of dam Speed Cop who has produced plenty of winners. Nice sort who has plenty of fancy entries including the Irish St Leger and Ebor so looks as is this trip is her optimum. Won't mind if ground dries out and was also behind the favourite in a Listed event over 2m staying on really well at Down Royal in May so connections obviously want to have a crack at that one again and at the prices looks a value bet. Sure to get a strong pace to aim at and can pick up the pieces to hit the frame. Ireland did win this last year with Terms of Endearment and that one is respected but the Irish have sent over strong challengers today and could have the 1-2-3. Should be much shorter and must be backed.

Has been on my radar ever since he fell at Cork when scooting up earlier this year but I'd noted him before as had been well fancied for some big handicaps. Catches my eye as in is only 2lb higher than when second in this last year. Is talented and will pop up one day and looks fairly treated returning to the level. Ew squeak.

Far from disgraced when not too far behind the now 98 rated Mississippi River s couple of runs ago and that suggests off this mark looks well handicapped. Looked a bit of an eyecatcher on paper last time staying on well over a mile and though it's only another 100 odd yards here it looks like it'll help. If getting a decent pace to aim at can stay on well and grab a place at the very least.

Improved for first run and really looked one to note next time when a bit of an eyecatcher stepping up to around this trip. Good jockey booking and looks to be improving with experience. Shaped last time as if could win a race and the decently bred sort had more experience than some and looks an ew play.

143 rated hurdler who ran well in a Truimph Hurdle and a County Hurdle and is obviously an outsider based on chase form but is too big a price to ignore given she has a touch of class. Grade 1 winner at Aintree and though only 3/3 last time if the first time blinkers work the oracle could well outrun her odds. It is hard to be confident but looks too well handicapped to not have a poke at given hurdles form and we know stays well as won over 2m5f plus in first start this season at Fairyhouse. Good ground not a bother either and let's have a go.

Was second over 2m over hurdles in April on good ground at Fairyhouse and getting those conditions again here off just a 4lb higher mark suggests could be a big price. Has actually won over 2m on good ground in a handicap hurdle so switching back from the flat with conditions to suit off a feather weight could be a danger to all.

Starting to look too well handicapped to ignore and though it has been a long time since getting head in front showed a bit more last time with an encouraging second. Step up in trip will suit and good ground not a bother. Very average race and can go well as is entered in a 3m race later in week here so interesting comes here instead. EW squeak.

Was a big eyecatcher here on debut with a staying on fourth and then came back here a couple of runs later to win a novice stakes race in good style. Obviously likes it around here and comes here on a roll too after a tidy win at Chester. Should get a strong pace to aim at and hits the line hard so should appreciate it if it turns into a slog. Up 3lb for latest win looks fair and won't mind if any rain arrives. Lightly raced and though up in grade looks a cracking EW punt.

Ran well on debut here staying on nicely over 7f and will appreciate the mile trip today. Ran as well as could be expected on first run for 245 days behind the very decent Blue Bolt and should strip fitter today. Handles the track which is a plus and first time cheek pieces could eke out a bit more so looks a fair EW play. Won second time up last season on the all weather and can improve for comeback run and hit the frame at least.

I've been all over this one twice already as has three siblings out of dam that all won on their second starts and looked an early sort on paper. Was punted heavily last time but never threatened but is interesting Kieren Shoemark keeps the faith. Has shown ability in both starts and I would be kicking myself for not backing this one or putting him up after fancying him strongly the last twice. Might of needed the runs anyway and interesting owner runs here as well as shorter priced runner but can go well before tackling handicaps. Yard had a 2yo winner recently and small ew play for me in one that has been on my radar.

Has been on my radar ever since winning on debut at Ffos Las. Is now a 1lb lower than when winning here over C&D earlier this year and though had been disappointing in the main a sharp 5f is what he wants. Gets that here and could pop up at a price.

Won a very competitive handicap here in May and needed all of the 1m6f trip there to get up so step up to 2m here looks sure to suit. Stepped up another notch when winning the Copper Horse at Royal Ascot and again showed stamina might be his forte. Another step forward is needed here but is going the right way and has a good strike rate of four wins from 6 races. Interesting yard run him here as well as last year's second Sweet William when he could of stayed at a lower level so could be the one to serve it up to O'Brien's duo. Course winner warrants a close eye and could be the fly in the ointment.

Was a good winner of this last year and had Kinross behind that day giving 5lb so off levels this time around had to be respected. Is quirky and gets the cheekpieces slapped on for the first time so has to be taken on trust will take to them. Was actually only 6th in this in 2023 behind Kinross but the ground was softer than ideal that day. Hasn't been in the best of form of late but can go well here given looks to have been aimed at this after being a beaten favourite behind Ten Bob Tony and old rival Kinross last time. Will win or bomb in my opinion but I'll take a chance will be spot on for this.

Can't believe isn't favourite as won the Listed Chesham like his brother Holloway Boy who then came on to be a beaten favourite in this beaten just 1/2l. Family honour needs a rebalance here and I loved the way this one raced prominently and battled on gamely to win at Royal Ascot. Looks a speedy sort and this track should suit and actually comes here a tad more experienced than his brother did. Big shout of making all here. Holds a Group 1 entry at the Curragh and must go close.

Was a huge eyecatcher for me last time at Epsom and went straight into my notebook as really ran a race full of promise after a year off. Stayed on really well and I actually backed him for the John Smiths Cup at York where if he had won would of landed me a right old punt as had a tidy double with Prince of India earlier in the week. Sadly didn't go there so have to steam in again given my earlier thoughts. Has handled Epsom so should handle here and draw ok too as last year's first four home were drawn 17, 13, 12, and 11. Big chance if coming on for the run.
