I have been a member of Olbg since September 2009 and must say it's one of the most user friendly sites out there. The fact all tips, comments, stats & performances are recorded and available for inspection it really does mean you have to bring a professional approach. You are judged on what you say and do, so I will do my best to help others along the way in our journey to prise some profit out of those miserly bookies. I am a genuine horse racing enthusiast and have spent (or some might say wasted!) over 30 years as an avid punter and the beauty is I am still learning. This site definitely helps as the information and knowledge of other members available is excellent.....and free. My other hobbies are photography and cricket, I'm the current Skipper of Seveno CC a south London friendly cricket team and we're always looking for new players. I'm also a keen photographer and have captured some great memories especially from Cheltenham and if any photos catch your eye, please get in touch. For me, all roads from about November lead to the greatest sporting event of the year, The Cheltenham Festival and I have been going nearly every year since 1998. The memories, stories, good punts & bad will make a great book one day! I always look for value and hopefully a few juicy punts click on here. I would say horse racing is my game but I do like the odd dabble in the golf, boxing & cricket markets. Enjoy the ride!

Beat the very impressive winner of yesterday's closing bumper on the card Celestial Tune easily on sole start in big field Punchestown NH Flat race in the spring. That form is working out well and the 2nd-5th home that day have won 8 races now between them since. Must be smart and though has fitness to prove it is very interesting shrewd connections have targeted this prize on seasonal debut. Give the way my Nap bolted up yesterday I have to Nap the horse who beat that decent filly today. Yard could be in better form but I like the look of this one who won his PTP easily too and is nicely bred. Out of a Flemensfirth mare should suggest the heavy ground won't be an issue and can step up in class here.

Now I do think Bud Fox looks a good thing given the way form is working out and only doubt is stable form and also if needing the run there might be an EW bet to be had. Step forward this one who has improved with each run and was a good second to a horse who has gone in again. Interesting trainer Thomas Cooper takes on Bud Fox again as he knows what he's up against after Celestial Tune chased home the favourite at Punchestown. Harry Cobden a very interesting booking as he is 5-15 at a 33% strike in bumpers alone this season. French pedigree suggests will handle the ground and if any chinks in the fave coukd be the one to cause the upset. EW value anyway if Bud Fox does dot up.

Yard won this in 2017 and 2019 and I fancy both from stable to go well and though I do like Helnwein's chances have to save on this unexposed sort who Tom Cannon has chosen to ride. Got found out in Grade 1 and 2 company so dropping into a handicap makes sense. Has won over this trip on heavy ground at the stiff Sandown so drop in trip makes sense too. Could be well in and that defeat at Sandown of the smart Diva Luna looks decent now given that one is Grade 2 placed over hurdles and a Listed Chase winner since. Won on debut so can go well fresh and worth a punt.

Has run well on seasonal debuts the last two years winning on soft ground in 2023 at Warwick in a novice hurdle and running second to the smart Telepathique in a chase in 2024. Didn't cut it as a chaser and is a better hurdler with some cracking big field handicap form including when beating the decent Be Aware at Sandown a couple of years ago. Was an eyecatching second last time was seen in the Swinton staying on well to nearly catch Our Champ and off just a 1lb higher looks a fair EW poke given can go well fresh. Handles heavy ground, will relish a strong pace and looks well handicapped to me so must be on the shortlist.

Would be long by odds innit we knew was fit and raring to go dropping into a handicap and I'm willing to take the chance as we all know he'll either outclass these or be minded for another day if he can't lay up with the sorts who like to force the pace. He is a Ryanair winner and was 5th in a Gold Cup as well as a place behind Broadway Boy at the December meeting over a marathon trip so does stay. Won't mind the mud and the Skeltons have been different gravy this week. Will travel well to my reckoning and has run well fresh before so if ready to roll will take some beating.

Progressive sort who will stay given has won over 2m6f and 2m7f over hurdles and is bred to be a 3m chaser as is out of a Beneficial mare too. Last year a 6yo won this and this likely improver fits the bill off what looks a very fair mark. Handles heavy ground and though jumping coukd be better is learning in the job and good go close here. Stable form a slight worry for me but a winner has to come soon and I think this one looks the most likely winner given profile. Has gone well in a big field as wasn't disgraced in the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival but has always looked a chaser in the making and can land this pot getting so much weight from some fancied rivals. Been well backed and like his chances.

Second season chaser who has been second five times from eight starts for nes yard but doesn't look a dodgepot as had bumped into some nice sorts. Was second to the smart but ill fated Casa No Mento on last start and off the same mark must be respected. Was second at Chepstow the time before and form of that effort is ok as the third and fourth have both won since. Loves heavy ground and is lightly enough raced for a 9yo who looks a chaser on paper. Out of a Flemensfirth mare also suggests even if ground turns bottomless he'll be okay and though doesn't win much looks a dour type for this slog. Trainer could do with a winner but two of her recent runners were hacking up by a distance only to tip up late on. Looks solid to me and will love the ground off a fair mark.

Might be a travelling companion for the more fancied stable runner earlier but had to be interesting making the journey over too in a winnable race. Half brother to Git Maker who is decent and was placed in a Scottish National so chances are the Irish raider will stay all day. Is 1/1 over fences in France and handles heavy and soft ground so could be well handicapped. Yard 3/3 with their British NH raiders this season and this race doesn't look the deepest so anything unexposed must be of interest.

Was yard's last winner and though that was in February a few have run well in defeat since. This is a step up in grade but off a featherweight and the ability to stay up this stiff hill finish blindfolded I'm wagering has been laid out for this. EW play for me as will stay all day and is a safe jumper. Might get outclassed and outpaced at some stage but will be staying on better than most in my opinion.

Very interesting on stable debut and given has plenty of experience in native France on heavy ground should be fine with the going. Yard's British raiders have to be respected and over the last 5 years they are 10-45 at a 22% strike rate in hurdles races in the UK. Those stats are even better this season as Joseph O'Brien is 3-3 with his British hurdle raiders. Looks on a fair mark in this handicap for one with plenty of experience who was placed in Listed company and has won over 2m3f back home. Can go well.

Had decent point to point form as chased home the decent now trained by David Pipe Gentleman Toboot on debut. Did win last PTP start before transfer to current trainer and made a winning start on soft ground in his bumper at Fontwell. Was outclassed in competitive Aintree bumper on next start but returned this season to make a very satisfactory hurdles debut when chasing home the smart Idaho Sun who looks a decent tool for Harry Fry. Has handled Fontwell's stiff finish twice now so should be okay here and looks a progressive type who can go close in this. Entered up in a lesser grade on Wednesday so interesting connections think he's good enough for this level. Yard in decent form too.

Have been backing this one all week as caught my eye winning nicely last time pulling a cart and though that race wasn't much cop is franking the form of a race I've been keeping a close eye on. Finished last season with a good second to Bud Fox who is a very strong fancy tomorrow in the closing bumper on the Cheltenham card. That Punchestown bumper in April that these two mentioned contested, is working out nicely as the 2nd to 5th have returned form figures of 142211169111 collectively since. Ground should be from the Gods for my fancy as sire Maxios was a very soft ground winner and a dual Group 1 winner on the flat on soft. The dam was a Listed Fillies Hurdle winner in France on very soft and with Sean Bowen booked what is not to like. Nap of the day for me!

Caught the eye in the Silver Trophy at Chepstow and the Skeltons often use that race as a nice prep for a crack at a big pot on this November Cheltenham card. Doyen Quest last year for example. Too weight but is a classy prospect and was entered over 3m too at this meeting so this trip on this ground will be perfect. Hasn't won for a year but won a competitive Newbury bumper and a Haydock introductory hurdle on ground with heavy in the description and looks a corking wager here. Nicked a bigger price in the week so hopeful hits the frame at least.

I was hoping for a better run from Dreal Deal yesterday, who chased home this progressive sort in a Listed event at Killarney in August. But it shouldn't detract that this horse is seriously on the upgrade. Has rattled off a hat-trick since adopting front-running tactics, and that way will help him keep out of trouble here, as it will be tough to make up ground on today's going. Stable jockey's choice of yard's two runners, and I'd say Mr. de Bromhead will want to win this in honor of the late great Edward O'Grady, who was the last Irish-based trainer to land this. Jumps well and has won on heavy and looks a cracking EW play as could go well from the front. Has to improve, to be fair, but did win his maiden hurdle over 2m5f on heavy ground by a mile and can hang on for a place at the very least.

Have to have a saver on this lightly raced 10yo who looks laid out for this given his record fresh. On returns under rules from breaks ranging from 197-678 days his form figures read 1231 so I'd say he'll be bob on today. Won on soft/heavy ground over 3m when pointer and can race up with the pace too and I like that under today's conditions. I backed him at the Cheltenham Festival and he rewarded EW punt at big odds hanging on to 5th to Caldwell Potter in a Grade 2. Had good Cheltenham form previously when 2nd and 3rd to the top notch Ginny's Destiny over around this trip on other two starts here. Can't believe this is his Gold Cup and yard clicking into some fair form. Could be a bold sight from the front and might just hang on for a place but if getting loose could even win it given looks on a very fair mark dropping back into a handicap.

With yard in rare old form, four winners from just six runners in November I have to back this progressive sort on seasonal debut here. Nearly won a Welsh National on seasonal reappearance last season so this should be a walk in the park! Trainer is proving a brilliant schemer at plotting up his targets and I like this one's profile. Know he'll handle the ground and I think he'll win a very big pot this season so whatever he does today keep an eye on him but record fresh suggests he could well win this. Looks the class angle to my untrained eye and with 5 places on offer was close to be the EW Nap today. Come on Sammy Bhoy you've been filling my mate's loyal followers coffees lovely this season!

I'm still rueing this one tipping up late on in the Queen Mother last season as I'm sure would of at least finished second and ahead of Jonbon. Might be talking out of my pocket as has a lovely bet on at fancy prices but was travelling strongly after missing the kick a bit when getting outpaced. Was a good second in the Hrand Annual the year before on bad ground and goes well around here. Can stalk these with Cobden back onboard and he was gutted he never won the Grand Annual on this fella as I was as was there that day and really thought he'd get up. Compensation awaits as will relish conditions and is lightly enough raced to think can still prove top notch at this level. Will get a good tow from Matata and as I believe would of passed Jonbon in March have to go in again at the prices. Think he has a massive chance as goes well fresh too and this C&D winner might be worth a punt for the big one again.

Obviously fitness has to be taken on trust but will relish the going if it is really testing and stays this trip well. Got up the hill well at Sandown and has won at Leicester which is stiff enough too so has stamina assured. Goes well for young Bradley Harris and though pulled up on final start last season when a well backed favourite is lightly enough raced to think can improve again this season. Booking of Sean Bowen catches the eye obviously and he has been tremendous on the likes of Resplendent Grey and Haiti Coleurs recently. Can see this one winning or pulling up if any issues resurface but is a chaser to follow, stays this trip well, will like the ground and has fair novice form. Hopefully can get a lead of Pic D'Orhy and as that one has stamina to prove should pick him off at the later stages. Might handle the ground better than Djelo too and I like him a lot. Has got the perfect draw in box 3 as had two prominent racers on the inside who will give my fancy the perfect tow into the race. Unbeaten in two and a nice Grade 2 winner last time and has that man Frankie on top and though Precise is respected she has a mighty task from stall 13. Race could be over by the time she gets clear and Frankie nearly won this last year with a 20-1 shot and this filly will relish this quick going. Stays a little further and if getting that fast pace to aim at can scoot clear and hold off the fast finishing Europeans.

Can throw in the odd stinker but only two flops in career so far have been when probably didn't stay 6f in the Coventry at Royal Ascot and when not really liking Goodwood in the Molecombe and any horse can be forgiven a poor run there. Rest of career suggests a fast 5f is ideal and will get the perfect scenario tonight with a sharp 5f spot on. Only just touched off at York last tine and that speedy track lends itself well to finding winners here and remember last year's winner of this Magnum Force was also just touched off in the same event at York as Miltary Code was last time. Nice snippet of form link and there is much hope this one will relish conditions tonight and go close.

Won on this card on seasonal reappearance a couple of years ago and goes well fresh. Likes these flat tracks as has won at Newbury too in last year's Game Spirit beating the talented Libberty Hunter. Has to prove stamina but shapes as if he stays and ran well in the Ryanair at Cheltenham in March staying on well. With form figures of 122 from three runs there and with yard in cracking form too looks a player for me. Likeable tough sort who tries hard and must go close.

Point to point runner up to a sort called Taurus Bay who is now owned by Harry Redknapp and is with Ben Pauling so my reckoning is this one could be decent. Wasn't disgraced on hurdles debut behind De Temps En Temps at Uttoxeter and considering that one had gone in again in a class 2 novice hurdle at Cheltenham that suggests form might be worth following. Sure to strip fitter and come on for the experience so could go well here. Step up in trip should suit and I like this one on paper and what we saw at Uttoxeter which looked a decent race.

I'm not sure that many of these veterans ate Aintree types bar Ashtown Lad who did win a Becher Chase back in the day. One who still looks unexposed for an elder statesman is this one who goes well fresh too as shown when a good second to the decent Flic Ou Voyou on seasonal debut last year. Was sadly pulled up on next start but starts off on a fair mark and is lightly enough raced to think has something to offer. Small win bet is my suggestion , though I've stuck him in my lucky too, as he may well need the run after 10 months off. Well handicapped compared to his pomp and reverts back to cheek pieces after flopping in the first time visor when last seen. Could go well at a price as know he stays and won't mind the ground.

Consistent 121 rated hurdler who was one I liked last season and looks to have the scope to make a nice chaser. Only career flop was in a hot Aintree Bumper in 2024, but that race continues to work out well, and considering Ma Shantou was tailed off in it tells you it was decent! Look what that one did yesterday when landing the Nap. Anyway, one shouldn't keep looking back, and this one, if taking to fences on chase debut here, must be feared as looks a classy sort. Dam has already produced Grand Sancy, a listed novice chase winner, and I like this one's chances.
