I have been a member of Olbg since September 2009 and must say it's one of the most user friendly sites out there. The fact all tips, comments, stats & performances are recorded and available for inspection it really does mean you have to bring a professional approach. You are judged on what you say and do, so I will do my best to help others along the way in our journey to prise some profit out of those miserly bookies. I am a genuine horse racing enthusiast and have spent (or some might say wasted!) over 30 years as an avid punter and the beauty is I am still learning. This site definitely helps as the information and knowledge of other members available is excellent.....and free. My other hobbies are photography and cricket, I'm the current Skipper of Seveno CC a south London friendly cricket team and we're always looking for new players. I'm also a keen photographer and have captured some great memories especially from Cheltenham and if any photos catch your eye, please get in touch. For me, all roads from about November lead to the greatest sporting event of the year, The Cheltenham Festival and I have been going nearly every year since 1998. The memories, stories, good punts & bad will make a great book one day! I always look for value and hopefully a few juicy punts click on here. I would say horse racing is my game but I do like the odd dabble in the golf, boxing & cricket markets. Enjoy the ride!

Did finish last season on a low and has bled so does come with warning signs but first time up is the time to catch him and looks on a fair mark. Was most progressive last season and will like the ground too so makes plenty of appeal over these fences. Booking of Sean Bowen catches the eye obviously and he has been tremendous on the likes of Resplendent Grey and Haiti Coleurs recently. Can see this one winning or pulling up if any issues resurface but is a chaser to follow, stays this trip well, will like the ground and has fair novice form. Thought good enough to tackle the Grade 1 Kauto Star last season but unseated early there and should be happier going left handed again here. Record fresh is impressive.

421 from three starts at the track and sure to strip fitter for debut run in second just 11 days ago to the decent looking Doctor Kildare. That one himself had turned out quickly and gone in again so I fancy this strong staying C&D winner to do the same. Off the same mark as last time and just 2lb higher than win here last season and must be respected. Yard in cracking form with 6 of the last 10 sent out winning. Will handle decent ground too and as caught my eye more than once last season has to be backed here and can go close

Consistent sort who will run well as probably failed to stay last time despite rallying well so drop in trip will suit. Looked all over the winner last time out before fading late on and will bounce off decent ground here. Goes well for young claimer and is a likeable sort who mostly runs his race. A stiff 2m looks ideal and though creeping up in the weights looks on a fair mark with the handy 5lb off. Mad to think this one chased home Kel Du Large home once in a Listed bumper at Cheltenham nearly 2 years ago and is a decent sort. Looks the EW bet of the day for me.

Obviously the Nicholls fav will be the better long term prospect but hasn't fared well on stiff tracks and might be better on a flatter deck. Last year's winner won this first time up last season and that was second year on the bounce won on seasonal reappearance. Jumps these stiff fences with aplomb and will bounce of decent ground. Yard starting to click and thought plenty have needed the run they have had winners first time up after a break. Looks a good thing to me given this is his Gold Cup.....literally.

2/2 in bumpers including here on debut before following up in a Listed event at Cheltenham. Won on hurdles debut to remain debut and though hasn't been seen for the best part of two years must be respected given is still a young horse and has got quality form in the book. Should be around even money in my book if we know is fit so happy to take the chance trainer has got enough work into him and sees this as the right opportunity to get this potentially smart sort back on track. This looks winnable and though a paddock watch would be preferred price looks value at the moment.

I loved the way this horse powered through an informative Ascot Bumper on second start for the yard and he won really well looking a good prospect. Good point to point form in Ireland as finished second to Scope to Improve in debut and that one has transferred to the de Bromhead yard and won his bumper on debut for stable. Won next start in points and has run well for new yard since switch to Britain. Was third to Kadastral on last start in a bumper and that one looks smart and has just finished second to Sober Glory on hurdle debut and that one is being touted as one of Hobbs' best juveniles. Bar I Am Max all are making their seasonal reappearance here and despite also making chase debut off a stiffish mark I'm very interested in this one. Won first time up last season at Ayr and though didn't win thereafter operated at a very decent level and has good form in the book. Stays 3m so this trip on this stiff track will suit and if taking to fences is very much respected today. Lightly enough raced as an 8yo and as a 129 rated over smaller obstacles has still got potential and ground won't be a bother for this Irish raider from yard just starting to click.

Second in a point to point before moving over to yard that are always worth following in bumpers. Trainer is 5-24 at 21% strike rate in NH Flat races this season and this one is bred to be a nice jumper in time. Would be guessing if fit but yard did have a nice bumper winner at Aintree a few days ago on first start this season so can get them ready. Open race but looks a nice sort on paper and could go well.

Last year's impressive winner of this and arguably a stronger renewal too with the likes of Bravemansgame and Conflated conquered that day too. Must of been laid out for this after a recent spin over hurdles and if taking to the first time cheekpieces must go well. Hopefully can get a lead of Pic D'Orhy and as that one has stamina to prove should pick him off at the later stages. Might handle the ground better than Djelo too and I like him a lot. Fell short in top company after winning here last year but ran fair races in some high grade events and I'd say this is his Gold Cup. Quirky track is Wetherby and we know he'll handle it so fancy him strongly.

Was very well backed last time so a big run was expected on return to hurdles in a conditional's race. Went off too quickly and only got to the fourth before making a mistake and unseating young jockey. Freddie Mitchell back onboard here and though this is a step up in grade could go well getting weight from all. Yet to win over hurdles but was unlucky when beaten a head in the spring when a staying on second over 2m at Kempton. Extra trip here looks sure to suit on that evidence and good ground not a bother either as both wins on the level had firm ground in the description. Been nibbled at this morning and as was well backed last time any market move would be interesting.

Caught my eye at Ascot last time staying on really well on Qipco Champions Day and was also a paddock pick on the day by my mate who commented should stay well and he did in fine style to chase home my punt Mission Central. If in the same form must be an ew shout in an open race and last year's winner Henri Matisse also had stamina to prove coming into the race. That suggests the 1m is getable here for potential stayers and the way this one finished last time he'll go close here. Had a lot of racing this season but comes here off a career best last time and that form could look mighty smart if Mission Central goes well in the Turf Sprint earlier in the card. Cracking price.

What sways it for me is that Brant is unbeaten in two runs at the track and goes for last year's winning trainer of this race. On paper too my fancy catches my out eye as is out of Gun Runner who was a Breeders Cup winner and a dam who was also out of a Breeders Cup winner in Liam's Map. Unbeaten in two and a nice Grade 2 winner last time and has that man Frankie on top and though Precise is respected she has a mighty task from stall 13. Race could be over by the time she gets clear and Frankie nearly won this last year with a 20-1 shot and this filly will relish this quick going. Can throw in the odd stinker but only two flops in career so far have been when probably didn't stay 6f in the Coventry at Royal Ascot and when not really liking Goodwood in the Molecombe and any horse can be forgiven a poor run there. Rest of career suggests a fast 5f is ideal and will get the perfect scenario tonight with a sharp 5f spot on. Only just touched off at York last tine and that speedy track lends itself well to finding winners here and remember last year's winner of this Magnum Force was also just touched off in the same event at York as Miltary Code was last time. Nice snippet of form link and there is much hope this one will relish conditions tonight and go close.

I'm not sure that many of these veterans ate Aintree types bar Ashtown Lad who did win a Becher Chase back in the day. One who still looks unexposed for an elder statesman is this one who goes well fresh too as shown when a good second to the decent Flic Ou Voyou on seasonal debut last year. Was sadly pulled up on next start but starts off on a fair mark and is lightly enough raced to think has something to offer. Small win bet is my suggestion , though I've stuck him in my lucky too, as he may well need the run after 10 months off. Well handicapped compared to his pomp and reverts back to cheek pieces after flopping in the first time visor when last seen. Could go well at a price as know he stays and won't mind the ground.

Only career flop was in a hot Aintree Bumper in 2024, but that race continues to work out well, and considering Ma Shantou was tailed off in it tells you it was decent! Look what that one did yesterday when landing the Nap. Anyway, one shouldn't keep looking back, and this one, if taking to fences on chase debut here, must be feared as looks a classy sort. Was pulled up on only attempt at the Old Course here but record of 121 from three efforts on New Course suggests it's not the air that put him off last November here. On a good mark and though might find the trip on this course a tad sharper than ideal if he gets a strong pace to aim at might just rally home for a place at least. Bar debut has placed on all three starts in the month of October and has had a break since a couple of spins in the summer. Only 2lb than last win and as goes well fresh looks as if been lined up for this. There are some smart horses in here but this one is relatively lightly raced for a 10yo and will appreciate the trip on ground he likes. Probably will get outpaced at some point but hammered Hymac by 12l on the New Course in the spring giving him weight, yet gets weight here, and is three times the price with fitness onside! Looks a no-brainer to me for shrewd yard and maybe best EW bet of the day.

Best Country Mile fair and square on chase debut and might just have too much toe again for that one on this sharper of the two Cheltenham tracks. Won't want a massive test of stamina so hopefully the rain stays away and with yard on fire (8 winners from last 10 sent out) he must be a player here. Country Mile could not of been more impressive when dotting up in a novice hurdle on the other course here last December but hasn't replicated that effort since. Sean Bowen riding out of his skin and I see no reason why places won't be confirmed despite weight swing in favour of his old foe. The market seems to suggest this one is well fancied.

Sallal will be all the rage after third last time was massively boosted by the winner Cicero's Gift's shock Group 1 win yesterday at Ascot and rightly so, but for me Fingerpaint has shown enough so far to think he will be decent. Caught my on debut then ran well at Group 3 level last time when plugging on behind Princess Child after getting hampered when making a move. Extra trip and emphasis on stamina should suit and has plenty of scope. Interesting connections have pitched him into decent company again given inexperience and I think if getting a clear run can trouble these as should like the extra yardage. Princess Child has since run well at Group 2 level at the Arc meeting and whilst that is obviously not as good as what Cicero's Gift had done to Sallal's form it is more believable! This one has been in my tracker and I think could be very good so will keep the faith as noted needed a step up in trip next time.

Has to improve on what we've seen so far but given pedigree is bred to be very very good. Step up in trip will suit and did run well last time fading late on when too fresh early on. Obviously we don't know how good this can be but on the pedigree side and on paper alone should be long odds on. I'll take the chance that this is a deep race and has actually shown more on the course than main market rival Glittering Gem.
