I have been a member of Olbg since September 2009 and must say it's one of the most user friendly sites out there. The fact all tips, comments, stats & performances are recorded and available for inspection it really does mean you have to bring a professional approach. You are judged on what you say and do, so I will do my best to help others along the way in our journey to prise some profit out of those miserly bookies. I am a genuine horse racing enthusiast and have spent (or some might say wasted!) over 30 years as an avid punter and the beauty is I am still learning. This site definitely helps as the information and knowledge of other members available is excellent.....and free. My other hobbies are photography and cricket, I'm the current Skipper of Seveno CC a south London friendly cricket team and we're always looking for new players. I'm also a keen photographer and have captured some great memories especially from Cheltenham and if any photos catch your eye, please get in touch. For me, all roads from about November lead to the greatest sporting event of the year, The Cheltenham Festival and I have been going nearly every year since 1998. The memories, stories, good punts & bad will make a great book one day! I always look for value and hopefully a few juicy punts click on here. I would say horse racing is my game but I do like the odd dabble in the golf, boxing & cricket markets. Enjoy the ride!

I was at Ascot the last time this one ran and fancied him strongly in a race he was second in the year before, however seemed to find everything happening too quickly before plodding on late. Stepping back up in trip make a sense as was a good second the time before over 3m to a decent animal who has won again since and has also finished second here at Newbury in a class 3 race off a mark of 124. All this suggests my fancy is well handicapped off 115 and sole career win was on soft ground so should handle conditions. Have to stay loyal now getting a more suitable trip and rates a decent each way play.

Very lightly raced and interesting connections have perservered with this 9yo who would be a shoe in if could reproduce the form when finishing second to The Jukebox Man in a novice hurdle. Won via a disqualification last January on second start after a long break and as has gone well fresh before could be a play here. Yard in decent form as have had three winners and 6 seconds from last 15 sent out and I'm keeping a close eye on this one. PU when last seen but this is a hot race for yet another comeback and chase debut. EW squeak for me.

Was fourth on debut in a fair bumper that looks a decent form guide as the 5th, 8th and 12th have all won since. Built on that to be be a fast finishing second next time on soft/heavy ground at Bangor and looks one to be interested in on hurdles debut. Yard in cracking form as three of the last six sent out have won and Harry Cobden an eyecatching booking. Will handle conditions and has got a right chance if can jump as seems to have an engine. Has to improve to beat the best of these but ticks plenty of boxes and must have a real chance.

Plenty of yards here could do with a winner including this horse's stable but this well bred sort catches my eye in an open race. Blue Bresil gelding out of a Kayf Tara mare he looks one to keep an eye on as seems well regarded by the Moore's. Dam did manage to win a bumper and won on soft over 2m5f over hurdles plus was fourth in a Listed mares' race at Newbury so this one is bred to go well here. EW squeak at the prices and was placed on last point to point start when last seen. Yard has been quiet but I'm looking forward to this one running and is one to keep in mind going forward for the rest of the season,

Dam has produced two winners already who include the smart Bill Joyce who won on point to point debut and first time over bumpers so this one should be ready to roll. Getting 7lb from the impressive Realco will help too and yard still in great form with three winners from last ten sent out. Yard have a decent 16% strike rate in bumpers and should go well on debut.

Dontstopthemusic is entitled to come on for the run at Fairyhouse at the end November as much as my fancy is but A Dream To Share was a big eyecatcher in that competitive maiden hurdle. Stayed on really well and was the better bumper horse and should finally make up into a decent hurdler. Has been given plenty of time since winning the Cheltenham and Punchestown Champion Bumpers in 2023 and should make up into a tip top hurdler. Has ground to make up on old rival Dontstopthemusic but Kiely yard does seem in a bit better form than the Brassil stable. Should strip fitter now and improve for hurdles debut and I'm expecting this classy sort to lay down a marker for the spring festivals once again. Last bumper start last February has worked out well too with the likes of Redemption Day and The Yellow Clay tasting success at Grade 1 level. Looks to have a massive chance to my eye.

Salvator Mundi is the standout on French form for Sir Gino and 6th in the Truimph hurdle doesn't read too bad either but first start for 242 days on bad ground does leave him a bit vulnerable. Another French recruit Kel Histoire has fitness onside and was a massive eyecatcher on yard debut at Cork when pulling clear and caught the eye travelling well throughout the race. Surely more to come and owner, trainer and jockey won this race last year too. The favourite must be respected and will be primed up for the run but it'll be a slog out there and I just fancy the fitter stablemate.

Can't resist a little ew on this rank outsider as didn't run too badly in a Navan maiden that looks solid as the second and third have won since with plenty of others hitting the frame. Jumping was not great at Sandown and even ballooned the last in the Grade 1 Henry VIII but still ran on well and was only 8l behind the burgeoning Arkle pretender L'eau Du Sud. Had Soul Icon 30l behind there and the fact that one has come out and won a Grade 2 since tells me the form isn't too shabby. Out of a Presenting mare so step up in trip should suit and though Lecky Watson will be hard to beat I just feel that one might want a bit further than this trip. Very lightly raced and jumping will have less pressure on it over this trip and I think he is the one with a touch of class in here. Lecky Watson beat Slade Steel in a beginners chase last time but I like the look of the Sandown Grade 1 form of my fancy which has been boosted since. Could be the value.

Then ran another blinder when making Impaire Et Passe pull out all the stops at Grade 1 level in the Faugheen and looks ready to strike to me. I love the way he travels through his races and jumps well in the main. Caught my eye on debut when racing really wide at Hereford and had to be pulled up as had steering issues and whether he'd of given the winner something to worry about is conjecture. The second that day was Tom Doniphon who is potentially smart and has won twice since. Improved to finish second on next start and bumped into another smart one there in Oh My Johnny but pulled well clear of the third despite racing up with the pace the whole race. The fancied ones here lack recent runs and I think this one can go well for a long way again and hopefully hit the frame for yard going well.

Caught the eye last time at Wolverhampton staying on nicely after a little break just four days ago and on handicap debut here looks a play today. Stiffer track should suit and mark of 73 doesn't look too harsh. Yard in decent form too with a couple of winners and five seconds from last dozen sent out. On a line through a horse called dc Cogent has the marginal beating of Blinky so shouldn't be a bigger price than that one. My advice would to back this one and in a match bet with Blinky. That form looks better as the second has been second again since, and the fourth has won another Class 4 handicap since too. Must hit the frame at the very least.

Regents Stroll looks sure to be popular as trainer attempts to win race for a fifth consecutive year and is unbeaten in two here at Newbury. Will have to be a bit special though to beat course and distance winner The New Lion who really caught the eye last time travelling powerfully and beat 5 in form rivals that day. That form looked strong beforehand as all the rivals had won their previous run and the sixth has come out and won since too . Can handle the step up in class and looks the safer option too as jumping was slick enough last time whereas Regents Stroll did clout one and he won't get away with that in this company.

I was at Sandown when this one won last time out and stayed on well enough to think will handle this slightly longer trip. Shed maiden tag that day but has been mainly consistent and can continue to improve now got head in front. Beat Passing Well nicely at Sandown and that form looks good enough to trouble Henry's Friend who won on this card last year but didn't beat Passing Well as clearly as my fancy has. Can't see how Henry's Friend can give this one 11lb and beat him so is another strong fancy as looks a chaser on the up. Has run well here before and looks a cracking punt despite 7lb rise.

Always a horse I've liked and is 3/4 over hurdles and travels well through his races. Has won at left handed sharp tracks like Bangor and Wetherby so should handle Newbury well enough. Won nicely on seasonal debut and though this is a step up in grade looks one to follow. Trip looks ideal too and as Go To War has stamina to prove and Mr Hope Street might want an even stiffer test Mr Bramley is a confident selection. Looks the each way play of the day.,

Was a strong stayer over hurdles and ran some cracking races in competitive handicaps including when 4th at Punchestown on final start over the smaller obstacles. Hasn't had a sufficient stamina test in three runs over fences but has run well to place on all of those efforts and step up in trip will suit now. Also hasn't had soft enough ground over fences either so looks to have everything in his favour now and looks to have a massive chance to my eye. First time blinkers replace the first time cheekpieces and off this mark looks a cracking wager.

Beat Conkwell Legend in a staying chase at Exeter over this trip in the spring and that one ran a cracker in the London National at Sandown recently behind Mr Vango. That form would give my fancy a big chance here as Mr Vango would of been a big player here and this one is an unexposed stayer too over marathon trips. Yard have won two of the last ten renewals and this one has always looked a National type to me. Goes well at Exeter so must be a pure stayer and looks on a fair mark here. Full brother to Killer Miller who was a 3m5f winner at Fairyhouse back in the day and this one will stay alright. Has gone well at this time of year before and should strip fitter for seasonal debut at Wincanton on ground too quick and will be staying on when many have cried enough here. Worth an each way saver for yard who know how to win this race.

Is an out and out stayer who looks sure to appreciate this slog , looks sure to get round and in a race that sometimes cuts up into few finishers that makes this one a top punt. Was sent off 4-1jf in last year's Scottish National and though only 6th found the ground too lively and did plod on well. Soft to heavy ground is ideal and caught my eye last time in the Scottish Borders National when my winning punt on Bretney didn't stop me noticing this one was going as well as the winner for much of the race. Second five times in his last seven races since last winning at Wetherby over 3m6f but is genuine and relishes staying trips. In top hands and is still unexposed over marathon trips to my eye as is only an 8yo and can land a top race soon. Cracking each way shout and took 20-1 recently so money pouring on as he shortens in the market boosts my confidence.

Was a decent stayer on the flat and given I was all over this one for the Greatwood hurdle last time at Cheltenham I have to give him another chance for shrewd yard. Wasn't disgraced there behind Burdett Road who in turn hasn't been disgraced either behind the tip top Constitution Hill since and I'm going in again. Was actually sent off 5-1jf for the Cesarewitch at Newmarket in October on the flat and has to be given a squeak here off this mark. 5 x 5yo's have won this in the last decade and 8 winners in that period carried 10st 9lbs or less so my fancy fits a lot of trends. Good apprentice booked and last two rides for trainer have brought about a 22-1 success and a 50-1 short head second so looks good value for his 7lb claim.

Very much unexposed as a stayer and out of a Cloudings mare who has produced a 4m point to point winner in the past then maybe a trip is what this one will eventually need over hurdles. Still a maiden but comes here on the back of a career best when second at Market Rasen staying on really well on first start for 6 months.Worth a second look in a bang average race with good conditional who rides well for Fergal O'Brien but keeps hitting the cross bar for Nick Kent. Each way shout here.
