I have been a member of Olbg since September 2009 and must say it's one of the most user friendly sites out there. The fact all tips, comments, stats & performances are recorded and available for inspection it really does mean you have to bring a professional approach. You are judged on what you say and do, so I will do my best to help others along the way in our journey to prise some profit out of those miserly bookies. I am a genuine horse racing enthusiast and have spent (or some might say wasted!) over 30 years as an avid punter and the beauty is I am still learning. This site definitely helps as the information and knowledge of other members available is excellent.....and free. My other hobbies are photography and cricket, I'm the current Skipper of Seveno CC a south London friendly cricket team and we're always looking for new players. I'm also a keen photographer and have captured some great memories especially from Cheltenham and if any photos catch your eye, please get in touch. For me, all roads from about November lead to the greatest sporting event of the year, The Cheltenham Festival and I have been going nearly every year since 1998. The memories, stories, good punts & bad will make a great book one day! I always look for value and hopefully a few juicy punts click on here. I would say horse racing is my game but I do like the odd dabble in the golf, boxing & cricket markets. Enjoy the ride!

Seeing as yard have won this 6 times in the past they must be the starting point but they don't make it easy by running three. However the two older horses look worth taking on as one might prefer quicker ground and the other looks on the downgrade despite classy form in the not too distant past. For me this unexposed 3yo looks the play given ran a cracker in a French Group 3 last time under today's pilot James Doyle. Wasn't disgraced in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot over further either but best form has been over this trip and looks a fair shout as comes here as the most unexposed of the Gosden trio. Soft ground a slight concern but half brother Rajasthan handled it on sole try when a good second to the smart Ciceros Gift for the Gosden's a few years ago. Can go close and add a win for the first time since debut victory at Kempton last November. Yard is 6-17 at a 35% strike rate and a whopping nearly plus £30 level stakes profit at Yarmouth this season and hopefully we've landed on the right one. Life would be beautiful if we have!

Sallal is much respected as is 3/4 in short career and looks one to follow but I feel we haven't seen the best of Chantilly Lace yet and she looks a good bet. Won easily on debut on soft ground and considering pedigree has run really well since at a good level, despite not having soft ground since. Ran well at Royal Ascot in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes before being beaten a neck and a head in a Group 3 last time at Ascot again. Even form of seasonal debut when 5th in the 1000 guineas suggests she is actually the one to beat here and each time has shaped as if a stiffer test would suit over a mile. Will get that here and if ground does ride soft looks a good thing to me and we all know trainer has a fine touch with fillies. In the Group 1 Sun Chariot and can finish the season on a high now getting suitable ground for the first time since debut and given is out of Lope de Vega can improve for it.

One of the very few in here proven on bad ground and on just third start of season looks ready to strike as is now looking well handicapped. Ran well last time at Chepstow where was bang in contention before fading late on and drop in trip on this stiff track looks sure to help. Has won at Leicester which is not too dissimilar to this track and has won on heavy going too. Tony Carroll's only runner of the day and must have an EW shout at the very least. 4lb lower than last win from last season and after two pipe openers after a break can run a big race here especially if improving again for latest good effort. Looks to have a huge chance for me and looks the best bet of the day.

Starting to look well handicapped now and a horse I've always thought could pop up in one of these big handicaps. Jockey in decent form and booted home a nice handicap winner yesterday and yard in good form as well as have had 5 winners and 5 places from 19 runners sent out this month. Handles ground with juice in it and stays this trip well and as has placed in some nice big field handicaps including last year's John Smiths at York can go well here. EW shout from a good draw and three of last year's first four home were drawn in 1,3 and 4 so should go well from stall 2.

Goes well fresh and seasonal debut in the Group 3 Desmond Stakes last time out over C&D was arguably a career best, no mean feat for an 8yo. Has to prove can back that up and though form of that run leaves him with a bit to find with the likes of Skukuza and the re-opposing Alakazi at least comes here fresher than most. Another step up in class here but if even coming on a tad for that first start of the year must have a live chance again. Yard going well despite no winners recently but with five seconds from their last eight runners sent out deserve a change of luck. Hopefully won't set this up for a closer if making a prominent bid but interesting comes back here again for a crack at this nice prize. Lightly enough raced for one of his age and if still in the same form as last time has to be a cracking each way price despite the step up in grade.

Given another break after landing a Group 3 on seasonal debut, so fact goes well fresh looks as if been laid out for this. Took form up a notch by beating the 116 rated Kinross at Haydock last time and gelding seems to have worked the oracle for this likeable sort. Holds a few of these from that John Of Gaunt win and must be a player today as is less exposed than most. Qipco Champion Sprint Group 1 entry suggests connections thinks could still make a top level sprinter but stays well and looks to have a massive chance to my eye. More to come and should be shorter for my money so looks a cracking wager and I think will go very very close.

Has been on my radar all season as has run consistently well all year including being beaten into second three times by less than a length by some good sorts. Ran poorly at York last time on fast ground but doesn't like it there, and did the same at that track last year before bouncing back with a good second at Newmarket next time out. Ran a stormer in fourth in the Stewards Cup behind stablemate Two Tribes the time before, and off a 1lb lower today must have a chance. Deserves to land one and with any juice in the ground has a great chance to my eye. Yard still in good form and know how to win these big competive sprints. Huge EW shout for me.

Looks a massive price to me judged on the fact rattled off 6 decent handicap wins last season culminating with a good win over Newbury's straight mile on soft ground in September last backend. Just 1lb higher now and though hasn't fired yet this season is starting to hit form as shown by a couple of good efforts recently. Well entered up this week including at Yarmouth where he goes well, so interesting he comes here. Ground with cut, a straight mile and a very good draw gives me hope he can strike today, or at the very least hit the frame at a nice price in a very exposed looking field.

I was all over this one in the Ebor last time but the late market move for stablemate told as Ethical Diamond won it and my fancy finished a staying on 6th. The step up in trip will suit and as is entered in both Cesarewitch's across the Irish Sea and the Gp 1 Marathon at Ascot on Champions Day so he is obviously well thought off despite being a 8yo. Is still lightly enough raced to think can land a big pot since switch to Mullins and Buick booking catches the eye as was on Ethical Diamond last time. Obviously Ryan Moore injury aids Buick's cause but his style should suit this horse who despite step up in grade gets a step up in trip and must go well in an open looking race. Last year's winner Sweet William has to be respected but this division is crying out for a new kid on the block and despite advanced years this one could be about to deliver as connections roll the dice at this level. Stays well and if getting a good position on the front end under Buick could get the run of the race.

Lightly raced and had been running in good company once stepping up in trip but it was last start that showed this trip on softish ground could of been what he had really been looking for. Was a solid 4th at Goodwood on handicap debut last time and caught my eye staying on well enough so this more galloping track over same trip should suit. Any cut in the ground will help as showed handled it well. Had chased home the mighty Kyprios on seasonal debut this year before s last place at Listed level at Down Royal but that looked decent form as the winner is a Gp 3 winner and Gp 2 placed horse since, the runner up is a Listed winner since and the third was second in Gp 3 Irish St Leger trial subsequently too. Off the same mark as last time must be a player here with all in favour and Willie Buick booked.

U Sure Do drops in grade but doesn't look a world beater to me and looks risky at very prohibitive odds. The one I like is Gennadius who is very consistent despite still being a maiden. Has hit the frame in 8 of his 10 races and the fact has run well here before and gone very very close twice at Brighton suggests these left handed sharp tracks are his back. Stays a bit further so I'd like to see him crack on in front and he may well be hard to catch. Yard continue in good form and had another winner yesterday and I do think this one could be the value to shed maiden tag. Is entered for a valuable race at the St Leger meeting this weekend coming so very interesting coming here in calmer waters. Big shout.

Looks a Group performer in the making and travels so sweetly in his races that I don't think they've reached the bottom of his improvement yet. Beating of Ombudsman at Sandown reads well and gives him the besting of Sosie if seeing out the extra trip. I've been waiting an age for this one to tackle this trip and will relish any cut in the ground too. Dam did win over 12f so there is hope he'll get it too and though outgunned last time by the decent Royal Champion did keep on well enough and rates an ew banker here. Bolted up last time in a Listed event at Naas and it was a shame Wateen was a non runner that day as would of given us an angle on collateral French form with Afjal and that of Archie Watson's Shine On Me. Both of those beat Wateen but not by much and I'm not sure she would of got near Havana Anna last time who won by an easy looking 3.5l from a subsequent Listed winner Ipanema Queen. All of my fancies form looks strong as she best a subsequent winner the time before, was second to a Group 2 placed filly since and bumped into two hot sorts in Gstaad and True Love on debut. Has been a mover in the market this morning and looks to have a fine chance on impression of debut win at the Curragh. Could not of done it easier despite only winning by a neck and showed a good attitude in the process. The second and third have fought out a maiden since so form looks ok. The fourth home that day was Poweracclaim whose form ties in nicely with Germanese and the O'Brien pair and that leaves my fancy a bit to find. On a line through Cajole has actually just got the beating of Blue Bolt and drawn not far from that improver will get a nice draw into the race as that C&D winner likes to race prominently. On the ground I'd fear Blue Bolt getting home and though she is respected I'll go for a proven one on the likely soft ground. Was nutted in a Group 3 last time after finding the Group 1 Prix de Diane too hot but that's no shame as last year's winner of this race Tamfana was third in that French top race too. Good race this and on paper there look some decent sorts in it, but I've looked through all of the pedigrees and this is the one that catches my eye. Dam was unbeaten in 3 runs as a 2yo including at Listed level and I'm hoping this one is a similarly early foal being dam's first one to see the track. Dam stayed further too so this stiff track shouldn't hold any fears and if ready to go looks a fair price. Yard's turf 2yo's are going well this season with the 31 sent out yielding 8 winners and 13 places so by my maths that gives this one a nigh on 68% chance of hitting the frame. That's all conjecture anyway, but this nicely bred son of Dubawi looks a nice sort on paper. Dam ended up a 10f Group 3 winner at Newcastle on the all weather and won at stiff enough tracks like Beverley and Newmarket (on heavy ground) as a 2yo you'd think a stiff 7f on debut on softish ground is right up this one's street.

Obviously I'd backed it because of our name match but was tenderly handled and made nice headway without being knocked about. Step up in trip will suit and I noted dam did win on her second start, though as a 3yo. Big price again but I've seen has been nibbled at and the 20's is shrinking. Might be one for later and/or handicaps but could go well and looks a fair ew punt given extra furlong looked like it would suit on debut. Wasn't much of a race she finished 5th in on debut but the front 3 all have fancy entries including the Group 1 Fillies Mile so it might be worth following. Dam has produced a couple of winners already who both win on debut and now this one has had a run could well be another early sort. Was bang there a furlong out and dropped a 1lb this Ayr Gold Cup entry can run a big race.

Won really well at Chepstow a couple of starts ago despite hanging like the proverbial garden gate all the way home there. This track should suit based on that effort at tgd not too dissimilar left handed undulating track in Wales. On of the likely improvers in here and looks a fair shout after a couple of tamer efforts . To be fair was probably unlucky last time at Bath when stumbled and never recovered so as one of the unexposed 3yo's in here I'll take it that my fancy will bounce back here. Dropped again and can go close.

Has been disappointing in the big races this year but bounced back to form when 5th in the Stewards Cup behind stablemate Two Tribes. Caught the eye running a huge race on the wrong side of the track and dropped a 1lb here must be a player if in the same form. Long time since troubling the judge but is slipping to a good mark now and is relatively lightly raced for his age. Could pop up here.

Was pretty exposed in homeland before switch to Willie Mullins and must of been a plot job for this last year when an eyecatching 5th in the race. Looks to have been laid out for redemption here and could well take a bit of beating if getting a clearer run this time. Was an eyecatcher in a Listed event on the level on seasonal debut over a trip too short, before bolting up in a maiden hurdle at Galway by 11l. The runner up Zanndabad has boosted the form a bit with a cracking run in 4th in the big handicap at York yesterday, and though skinny enough has to be the start point for this race. Is much better off at the weights with last year's runner up in this Kiahvah, who is no forlorn hope either, but I'd be surprised if yard haven't eked out some improvement in this 8yo gelding. Is entered in all the big end of season staying events for older horses including Group 1's and could make a mockery of this mark.

Is a very big price despite 9lb higher mark than when runner up in this last year but comes here after a cracking 2nd at Market Rasen in the Summer Hurdle. Did exactly the same last year at Market Rasen off a 10lb lower mark than this time around so could well still be on a feasible mark. Is talented and a horse I've followed throughout career and who did me a favour at Musselburgh before being very unlucky at Newmarket when denied a clear passage. Looks still in form liked this track and must run a big race again. EW chance for sure as this trip is perfect for him and PJ McDonald gets a fine tune out of him.

Is a huge price considering is a C&D winner just two runs ago, and though stepping up in grade must have a massive chance of upsetting the best of these who to my eye have questions to answer. Rosallion has to be a doubt considering had a stone bruise recently and must be better over a strongly run mile. Lake Forest was ahead of my fancy at Goodwood but behind when they met here over C&D and I'd fancy Quinault to come out on top today. Is unbeaten in two at the track and if getting loose on the front could be hard to pass. Yard in fair form with 3 winners from last 12 sent out and this one is a massive EW play for me. Career form in Aug/Sept reads 31111 and remember last year's winner was unplaced at Goodwood before bouncing back here at huge odds. Come on boy get your Group 1!!

Bred to be smart by Frankel out of decent 3yo Group 3 winning mare who ironically ended up with Bobby Frankel in the US. Was Grade 1 placed out there over 10f and though my fancy isn't bred to stay he showed plenty of stamina on handicap debut at Sandown last time. Took the step up in trip in his stride and as holds a St Leger entry connections must think he's a solid stayer. Unexposed sort who goes for yard who have won this twice in recent years and he looks potentially a stronger stayer than stablemate Fantasy World. Another decent chance.

For me King's Gambit might find this test a bit sharp as took an age to get rolling last time and might get taken off his feet here. For me BOWMARK looks the one to be on, as is a course winner and an unexposed sort who if getting loose on the front could well make all, as he did when winning a Novice Stakes race here in May. Flopped in France last time at the top level and though behind King Of Cities there that one is exposed enough and back on this speedy track I'll take BOWMARK to come out on top. Yard have had 4 winners and 2 seconds from just 8 runners at the meeting so far and have a cracking chance here. Fancy this one strongly and can get us off to a flyer.
