Wests Tigers responded well to their 68-0 loss to Penrith Panthers by beating Gold Coast Titans last time. However, the Titans are struggling badly, so it's best not to read too much into that. Dolphins are on a six-game winning run and have been banging in the tries while remaining solid defensively. They are affected a tad by Origin but still remain the stronger outfit.

Qatar did well to frustrate Switzerland and come away with a draw thanks to an injury-time own goal. Switzerland didn't look at their best and a better team would have won that. The decision to overrule corners and change them to goal kicks, but not the other way around, is plainly stupid and has had a negative impact on the number of corners. Nevertheless, it didn't stop the Swiss winning 10 in their first game against Qatar. They are a side that win plenty of corners, so could get close to this line by themselves. Cards were sparse during the first round of fixtures, with refs being unquestionably lenient. I can't help feeling that the refs were under instruction to be so after the three reds in game one. Hopefully refs will clamp down a bit more in the second round of fixtures, and if they do this looks a prime candidate for over. Bosnia picked up three yellows in game one and Switzerland one. A repeat of that will be fine, but ref João Pinheiro can be card-happy, averaging 4.8 per game, so I see this at least reaching three.

The teams they beat aren't exactly a who's who of elite teams, with them beating Huddersfield, Bradford, and Toulouse. They lost to Hull, Wigan, and Leigh, and Warrington look stronger than those. I wasn't impressed with South Africa against Mexico. If Mexico offered more of an attack, they could have filled their boots. The Czech Republic didn't play too badly against South Korea, as Korea look a decent side. The Czechs rely heavily on set pieces, so that looks their most likely route to goal. Their two wide defenders, Chaloupek and Krej?í, both get forward for set pieces and get a fair return. Chaloupek netted eight times for Slavia Prague last season from 28 games, so 9.5 looks a decent price.
