Trainer Conor O'Dwyer had a recent winner over hurdles. Capable on his day, 8-year-old Barretstown has won 5 of 55 races. Market probably in the know, but the price seems very big to me.

Superposition has lost his form in recent starts, but this Class 3 race may be a good opportunity to get back on the scoresheet. He ran OK on the July course over 1 mile last July and produced a number of good races on the all-weather last season, finishing second twice in Class 2 handicaps at Newcastle. He has run out of sorts on the artificial surface the last twice. He is dropped back in trip and down two pounds to a mark of 90. Jack Callan (SR 27%) claims a 3 lb allowance. The 5yo, by Sea The Stars, has shown ability up until recently for trainer Ed Dunlop (SR 21%).

Glyfada is an interesting filly. Nicely bred by Camelot. Her first maiden was against some classy sorts, probably a stronger race than this, and she toughed it out to finish second there despite running green. Greenness was again very apparent when she hit the front at Naas one furlong out and didn't appear to handle the lack of racing company. She has a great deal of talent, but there were worrying signs in that last race. The drop back to 1 mile seems odd but might help her retain focus. This Irish Oaks entry can score if she shows her best side.

Back among the winners, the Andrew Balding stable boasts a 25% strike rate on all runners this season. Classical Allusion is a nice prospect by Ulysses out of a Pivotal mare. A maiden win at Southwell in November was followed by a two-length second to Constitution Hill at Kempton, form that reads highly, four lengths clear of the third. Started 11-10 favourite at Newbury last time (Class 3 over 2 miles) but ran green and quite possibly didn't stay the trip. Proven over 1m4f and on a good handicap mark here of OR85 (carries 9st). Oisin Murphy (SR 21%) rides. Looks value at 12-1 to return to form in this Class 3 handicap.

A chance is taken on Sunlit Uplands, who makes a stable debut for Stuart Williams. A winner of three of her eight starts for Rae Guest, she ran particularly well in fillies' races (form figures 12174). Made U Blush is interesting off bottom weight of 10-02 here and the second string behind favourite of Dan Skelton's, Tellherthename. Only a 4yo filly, but she followed up a ten-length mares' maiden win with success in the Scottish Champion Hurdle at Musselburgh. She was beaten by a stablemate (conceding lots of weight on this occasion) in the Grade 1 Fillies' Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at Sandown last time. Brings strong form into this race and has attracted market support.
