Parisencore has to be considered from current mark of 126 with Nicky Richards (SR 39%) yard going really well. Beaten a neck when four pounds higher over course and distance in December (Class 2, Good-Soft). Returns from a break. Now nine years old but this is perhaps just a little down in class to what the Walk In The Park gelding is used to. Four wins and 11 second places from 26 starts under Rules. Chance on these terms with conditions to suit.

Promising, unexposed 5yo runs for Sam Thomas (SR 71%) and Dylan Johnston (SR 38%). Two quick easy victories off a mark of just OR92 in February over just shy of 2m4f on soft ground. More to come and while the handicapper has raised the 5yo some 20lbs he is allotted just 10-02 in this competitive Class 3 handicap while jockey claims a 3lbs allowance. Unexposed sort very interesting upped in grade for the first time.

Anthony Honeyball (SR 21%) stable comes to Cheltenham in good form. Good Look Charm has 4 wins from 13 hurdles starts and is a battling type of mare. Low weight of 10-02 is going to help today, especially over a testing 3 miles trip. Previous winner on soft ground. Distance asks a question, but in terms of the handicap, Good Look Charm may be up to this. Happily, a winner on reappearance last two seasons running. Looks a big each-way price.

Dinoblue

Daily Racing

The conditions of this race are such that Dinoblue, being a mare, receives weight from all. 8 wins from 16 chase starts. Comfortably landed a Grade 2 mares chase at Cheltenham Festival last year. Won the Punchestown Festival version of that race in a canter by 35 lengths. Grade 1 chase success at Leopardstown back in December 2023. Goes over 2 miles or 2m4f, probably makes little difference. Soft ground preferred. Willie Mullins (SR 24%) stable getting serious now. This is a good race to target. Paul Townend on another one and Mark Walsh up instead, but Dinoblue looks a play at 100-30.

How Joly Smoke ran well here at Cheltenham last time over 3m1f, traveling strongly throughout but finding little at the finish. Worth chancing over this shorter trip of 2m4f on the back of that run, especially with very soft ground likely to make this race a strong test. Classy hurdler but always suggested he'd be a strong chaser. Jumps well. Two wins off OR120 and 127 both over three miles, one on good, one on soft going, from six starts over fences. Dan Skelton (SR 26%) team going well. Promising sort and current rating of OR131 means this 7yo by Black Sam Bellamy carries under 11 stone.

Burdett Road is a highly capable sort. Third in the Christmas Hurdle and second in last year's Champion Hurdle. Dreal Deal is a surprise visitor to Cheltenham, but the only Irish-trained runner in this veterans' chase could be the answer. Tiernan Power Roche claims 3 pounds from a mark of 134 (a lot of these are up against it in terms of weight). Won chases for John McConnell off marks of 127 and 131. First and second (in Listed chase over 2m5f) in first two chase starts since joining Philip Rothwell. 3 from 17 over fences. This is an interesting assignment. Ran moderately well in the Topham at Aintree last year and does have some ability. Chanced at 14s in a nine-runner race.

Spanish John

Daily Racing

Spanish John is 'thrown in' according to the Racing Post on the current hurdles mark of 86 (11 stone). I don't quite understand that comment since he's placed but not really gone close off this mark the last three times over hurdles. Harry Sexton claims a 7 lbs allowance for good measure. The Racing Post also NAP the horse. A bit puzzling. Not like the Post to give away a winner but has the ring of a strong tip about it. Spanish John has won races on the Flat, including early last month. Being backed but has ability and may be capable off this mark.
