Hexagonal is just a little tempting, having run keenly and prominently over a longer trip less than two weeks ago. Best effort yet was in a maiden over 7.5f at Roscommon, and this is the shortest trip that the Lope de Vega five-year-old has yet tried. Joey Sheridan rides for Denis Hogan. Unlikely, but entitled to come on from the recent outing, and the drop in trip is a surprising move.

Reached a peak official rating of 142 and ran second in the Welsh National in December off OR135, but form has declined rapidly and now runs off OR130, which makes him a bit interesting. Open-looking Scottish National (no Willie Mullins-trained runner). Disappointing on three starts, including last time in the Midlands National. Jonjo O'Neill Jr takes the ride. First start back with Norman Lee. Made In The Woods ran prominently throughout at Clonmel in a decent handicap hurdle and only weakened late on in what was arguably a decent race for the grade. It looked less a prep than an attempt to win from the front. That was over fences, but he switches to hurdles now (for which he's six pounds lower) and first-time cheekpieces are added. Good ground suits him, and today's jockey rode this 7yo by Ribchester (won the Group 2 Mill Reef, 6f, and Group 1 Lockinge, 1m, here). Five wins last season. Good ground is a concern, but Coppola has run second on both runs since joining Gordon Elliott's yard and has looked like stepping up in trip might help on each occasion. Form-wise, however, Cool Native ran a big race when third at Navan in November (in front of last week's hot favourite Salsinha, also trained by Henry De Bromhead). Further complicated by the fact that Cool Native was beaten a length and a half by Miss Doyenne in a maiden point over 3 miles in January 2025. Meets that rival on 13 pounds better terms today.
