Trainer Johnny Murtagh has a good record at Fairyhouse and with horses starting out in handicaps. Sir Trancealot makes his handicap debut from a lowly mark of OR58 (8st 13lb). Ben Coen rides. By Derby winner Camelot out of a Dansili mare, so 1m4f could suit. First-time cheekpieces applied. Has admittedly shown little in maidens, but could and should be markedly better than that.

Someone got a sneaky 18.0 on Betfair and it's probably not worth betting at 11-2. Andrew Slattery-trained 3yo stayed on despite a lack of market support over ten furlongs on handicap debut last time. Entered but declared a non-runner over a much stiffer staying trip yesterday, so I'm not sure what the plan is. The market and official tipsters seem keen on this 4yo son of 2,000 Guineas second King of Change.

Reached a career-high mark of 110 when second in the Grade 1 King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2022. Solid efforts in decent company at Meydan this winter, and now drops into a 0-80 Class 4 handicap off a current mark of OR80. May have the class to gain a first win in a long time (January 2022). Northwest Passage is low in the handicap, allotted just 8-04. He ran numerous good races for Roger Teal and has since joined Ivan Furtado. He was a fifteen-length winner at Salisbury last season, which didn't do his handicap mark much good but showcased his potential. He has had two muted efforts at a lower grade so far this season.
