Eldorado Allen is just a little interesting here. Smart winner of the Veterans' Chase at Cheltenham (2m 4f, soft) in November but faded a little quickly. He did stay on for third there last time. Has had to give weight away in those races. Some way off all of these on official ratings in what is a very strong field for a Class 2 chase. Rated as high as 162 at his very best and a former Grade 2 winner. Can stay this trip. Penultimate win from the front was quite impressive, so not over the hill yet at twelve years old. Hopeful play at 50-1, however.

Top weight, but this isn't the strongest of handicap chases. Quite a few positives include a 14-length success at Wexford (3m1f) over fences in September 2023. Runs off a mark only five pounds higher today. Colin Bowe had a winner from his last two runners, and that was a mares' chase. North of Nashville is a mare by Soldier of Fortune. One win from four chase starts. One win from two starts in points. May be sharper for a recent outing at Punchestown. Jordan Gainford rides.

Thanksforthehelp is clearly a bit useful. He showed that with his win at 14-1 in a 25-runner handicap hurdle at Punchestown in April. He struggled at Newbury over 3 miles in November and put in only a slightly better effort at Windsor (little market support at 40-1) last time. His handicap mark drops two pounds. Inis Oirr is chanced as today's NAP selection. He carries bottom weight of 10-05 in this Class 3 handicap hurdle at Haydock. Derek Fox rides for trainers Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore, and these connections are respected, if a little out of form. One win from seven runs over hurdles came at 3 miles at Musselburgh in 2023 (OR115). He is two pounds lower today and, having lost his way over fences, this is a relatively quick return from one recent hurdle outing over course and distance. He wasn't beaten all that far there, and a return to form can't be ruled out.

Well, Advancing is the only one being backed and did win with ease over course and distance last time. I don't quite fancy the odds-on in a decent race. First Greyed is certainly a hopeful pick at Class 4 level, but the eight-year-old won nicely on penultimate start, going clear by three lengths (a race where the pace was overly strong, to be fair). Four wins from nine AW starts reads well. Meets these on good weight terms. Bottom weight, running off OR68, 8 lbs lower than all rivals, and Zoe Lewis (winner from her last two rides) claims a 7-pound allowance. Formerly with Michael Dods, but all those AW wins have come for current trainer Thomas Faulkner within the last twelve months.
