Yet to win in ten races but has finished second on two occasions, including last time, which was Sanditon's best effort yet. Owners' group syndicate horse, so they are probably looking for a first win. It was quite a hot race for this grade he ran in last time. He had two of today's rivals behind. Weak early betting market on this race. Jack Mitchell takes the ride and, surprisingly after a good run last time, a first-time visor has been applied. Charlie Johnston trained Footstepsinthesand, 4yo.

This is only a Class 4 handicap hurdle and a further drop in class for The Expensive One, who tried Cheltenham unsuccessfully the last twice. He might have got a lot closer but for stumbling last time. By Derby winner Harzand and not the most fluent of jumpers, but a win and a second at this level in maiden and novice hurdles show there's ability there if he can get the jumping right.
