Duffys Hodey looks a little bit 'thrown in' running off a chase mark of 79, having won hurdles races last season off OR85 (by 7 lengths), OR94 (by 5 lengths), and OR103 (by 7 lengths). Soft ground and 2m4f-3 miles suits. Second chase start. Pedigree rather than form suggests strong staying potential. Tiernan Power Roche claims a 3lbs allowance. Runs for Philip Rothwell outfit in fair form.

Jps Express (intriguing ownership) ran quite well on debut on turf (7 furlongs) in a decent race at Galway recently. The first two were experienced runners trained by Aidan O'Brien. This 2yo by Soldier's Call showed plenty of speed and kept on to finish fifth. Back over seven furlongs in a much more average-looking maiden on second start but at Dundalk, a racecourse where trainer Michael Mulvany has had more success. Wesley Joyce with 3lbs allowance retained. Can progress from first outing.

Nammos makes a little appeal here at quite a big price. Ran third to Independent Expert in a similar claimer on penultimate start but was slowly away and is ten pounds better off (for 3.5 lengths defeat) in this claimer. Keithen Kennedy claims a 5lbs allowance. The 5yo mare steps up to a mile for the first time. Two wins from 13 AW starts for former yard of Jane Chapple-Hyam (OR 60 and OR63, both wins at 7f). Out of form but market watch advised. Ado McGuinness trained.

Innumerable

Daily Racing

Innumerable holds strong claims in this nursery handicap. Runs for Stephen Thorne, highly respected trainer at Dundalk. The form of this Inns of Court filly's third place at the Curragh in May is very strong (behind classy sorts Andab and Gavoo). Found seven furlongs too far next time so drop back in trip should suit. Drawn in stall 1.

Strong market moves for Diamond Jim. Trained by Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero whose horses are running better than the win rate of 6% suggests. Competent with young hurdlers. Daily Racing

Captain Butler carries twelve stone but was highly promising for Pauline Robson last season and makes debut for Ruth Jefferson stable. Hold That Taught had just two races last season, and the first of them came late in December. It's perhaps a good sign that the ten-year-old (well related to good jumping types) starts early this November. Two wins in the autumn of 2023 included a five-length success here at Bangor off a mark of 125 (OR123 today). Would likely be suited by rain but has won on good ground. Runs off bottom weight and would be a strong contender on the form of the 2023-24 season. Has attracted market support. Venetia Williams started the season with a Grade 2 winner (Djelo), although runners since have gone less well.

Joyeuse

Daily Racing

Joyeuse is taken to score for Nicky Henderson. The trainer is in good form (profitable to follow on chasers this season, recent winners over fences) and has a good record at Bangor. Joyeuse is the top rated of these over hurdles (OR142) and soft going would suit. Impressive winner of Grade 3 handicap hurdle at Newbury last year before respectable run behind Lossiemouth in the Grade 1 Mares Hurdle at Cheltenham. Promising type with three wins from seven races and the one to beat.

Daily Racing

Cons Roc has career form figures of 21112. Winner of sole run under Rules in maiden hunter chase with a little in hand perhaps. Beaten odds on on last Point outing in January (interestingly by Rockys Howya, who runs elsewhere on the card today). They were 26 lengths clear of the third. Trainer Terence O'Brien commands respect and so does the form of Cons Roc.

Duffys Getaway

Daily Racing

These aren't the strongest set of chasers, and Duffy's Getaway will be aided by a low rating of 92 in this amateur riders' handicap chase over 3 miles. Proved he had some ability when running away with a 3-mile hurdle here at Fairyhouse (disqualified for banned substance) and upheld that form in the next two outings off higher marks. JP McManus colors. Smart amateur Heidi Palin, with a career strike rate of 18%, booked, which alone is interesting. Suspicion a big run is due.

Excuse for final run at Cheltenham Festival and did show ability when rallying for third in the Grade 3 Grand National Trial at Haydock.
