The 7 lb claiming jockey Rebecca Hitchen has won 3 of 9 races, all this season. Born In The West capped a spring of good efforts with a win at just short of 2m4f here in March. The close third in April at Haydock over 3 miles was probably an even better performance. She has been disappointing in three outings this season, but her handicap mark is dropping and this drop in class, alongside a step back up in trip, will likely help. The Racing Post notes early market movement. Two recent winners for trainer Sam England, whose string seems in pretty good order.

I agree with the betting market that this looks between Charlus (Triumph Hurdle attempt last year for Willie Mullins) and 133-rated Jigoro, who reverts to hurdles from chasing in first-time cheekpieces for Gordon Elliott (SR 28%) and Jack Kennedy (SR 44%).
