Two wins from four, both in Class 2 grade at good courses as a two-year-old. Carried a heavy weight and wasn't strongly supported in the betting at Newbury last time, but comfortably beat a heavily backed favourite in a decent 3yo handicap there and looked ready for earning some black-type there. Meets some good, unexposed types here but sets the standard. Good ground and seven furlongs clearly suit.

Bois Dangos got going late at Limerick in March to win his second start in bumpers at 16-1, showing greenness at the close. He was well beaten by Look Me previously but ran green there also, which is a problem with bumper sorts (including the likely favourite here). He showed significant improvement last time (beat an odds-on favorite, and they went 12 lengths clear of the third). With Finn Buckley's 7 lb claim not ruled out today, he is intriguing. Continental pedigree is interesting ??" No Risk At All is connected to the distaff line.

@+5000

Lose

-50

Jetara has been out of form, but Jessica Harrington has had two impressive winners from just a handful of runners at this week's Punchestown Festival. Jetara was third to Teahupoo in this race last year (beaten 7 lengths), so makes a fair each-way play. 8 wins from 31 races under Rules. Grade 2 mares' hurdle winner in the past over 3 miles. Third in this year's renewal of that race she won at Doncaster, and then ran prominently for a long way behind the classy Wodhoo and Jade de Grugy over 2m4f in a mares' hurdle at the Festival. Looks a very big and attractive each-way price at 50s here.

Outsider in the betting but third on official ratings and with a good effort when second of five here earlier in the season, Jacobs Ladder is chanced for Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy. He has won three of seven starts over fences and drops back in trip now. He's had a long season and might need others to flop (as they did here last year), but there's some market support. Probably prefers 2 miles to 2m3f and has won before on good ground.

Tuckmill

Daily Racing

25 EW

@+15000

Lose

-50

This handicap chase is tricky to sort out. Tuckmill each-way might offer some value at 150-1 with William Hill. Two pounds out of the handicap proper. Jonathan Burke (SR 21%) is a decent jockey booking for trainer Peter Fahey. The ten-year-old unseated at the first in this race last year. One hurdles prep in March was his only outing this year. Some of these jumps races look a bit of a lottery. He has won races, including over fences, so not a ludicrous selection. They might play for a placed finish... but who am I going to back to win this event?

Lose

Julie Camacho stable is back in winning form. Diderot makes his second start at Redcar in five days and showed something to progress from when fifth here over 1 mile last time. He has won at Class 3 level over ten furlongs in the past. He reached a peak handicap rating of 100 in 2024 and runs off OR81 here, his form having dipped markedly since then. He never has been an easy horse to predict.

Billy Lee Swagger

Daily Racing

50 WIN

@+3300

Lose

-50

An intriguing handicap hurdle with 25 runners competing for this Listed prize, and few can be ruled out. Billy Lee Swagger is a particular favourite of sorts and is 2 lbs out of the handicap proper. Shane O'Callaghan claims 5 lbs. Six-length, comfortable winner over 2m4f at Fairyhouse in November, and he's always been the sort of horse to stay on late. Has run good races and is a former winner at Punchestown. Pretty interesting in first-time cheekpieces for Philip Rothwell. Seven-year-old with a lot of good form in the book. I might venture a pound on this one along with the best-backed Willie Mullins entry.

The Bosses Oscar

Daily Racing

25 EW

@+10000

Lose

-50

The outsiders don't make a huge appeal here, but The Bosses Oscar might be interesting on his very first start for the new yard of Nigel Thomas Slevin, having left Gordon Elliott. Eleven years of age, he had some success as a former staying hurdler and occasionally ran well in Points (formerly second to Desertmore House) for that stable. Georgie Benson claims 7 lbs. He ran a close second of 22 in a maiden hurdle back in 2019 on his last outing here. This will be a very different experience.

Catchabird

Daily Racing

50 WIN

@+2500

Lose

-50

In a Willie Mullins-dominated mares' hurdle, a chance is taken on Catchabird for the lesser-known stable of Sarah Connell (had the well-backed sixth in the Scottish National). Catchabird has more experience than all opponents and some good form in the book, although not at Punchestown. A recent drop in trip to two miles has brought about her first two successes, with the Getaway mare running on well at the finish each time. A very hopeful pick.

Nicky Henderson (SR 30%) is yet to have a winner from three Punchestown runners this week. Champ Kiely is ventured here, a little optimistically. Ran out a 6.5-length winner of the novice chase over 3m1f at last year's Festival. One of four entries for Willie Mullins, and Sean O'Keeffe rides.

A few interesting rivals in the field, but Riskaway has looked a class act at times and the form reflects that. Back in November, he beat Zeus Power by eleven lengths in a maiden hurdle, and that horse ran third in the Turners Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham before winning the Sefton Novices' Hurdle at Aintree (both Grade 1s). Riskaway appeals if the season hasn't taken its toll. Gordon Elliott trained.

Gordon Elliott's stable always targets this race, with some success. Barry O'Neill (career SR of 17%) rides. Strong pedigree for the jumping game by Clovis du Berlais out of an unraced mare, but a half-brother to useful sorts including Ziga's Boy. Could be up to this at the first time of asking.

Spanish Harlem is very good over this trip and ground and won over course and distance in June last year. Good efforts in the Ayr National and Bet365 Gold Cup in the past. Won the Kerry National with a strong display of jumping from the front in September. Would have won the Thyestes but for unshipping rider at the last. This looks a more suitable race than the Grand National last time. Harry Cobden rides. A little interesting at a big price.

Too Bossy For Us has a bit of class and looks quite a big price at 25-1 in this late-season Grade 1 novice hurdle. Has run some smart efforts on the Flat and won a maiden hurdle over course and distance comfortably in February. Good effort in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham, finishing sixth at 50-1 despite a late jumping error when tired. Poor at Fairyhouse last time but has place claims again here. Danny Mullins rides.

Intriguing contest. Highly competitive. It is ultimately a bit of a lottery. Larzac has perhaps been brought along slowly. One of many runners for a very in-form Willie Mullins (SR 36%) stable. A maiden still after just five starts but tried very highly in Grade 1s at Cheltenham and Punchestown last year. Beaten favorite the last twice but showed improvement at Cork last time, his best run yet for the yard. 'Travelled strongly' on his first outing this year earlier this month and not beaten far.

Glyfada is no certainty, but she did look a potentially very smart filly and battled on through marked traffic congestion on debut at the Curragh last time. She holds an entry in the Irish Oaks and, stepping up in trip and perhaps dropping a little in class here, is the selection. Any value about the price seems to have been snapped up, really. There are quite a few good sorts in here.

I'm a fan of Trojan Warrior but not sure 9-12 in a handicap is what he needs. Stephen Thorne runs Son of Beauty, who receives a stone from the aforementioned top weight. Third and first in two decent maidens at Dundalk. First turf start in a similar race to this at Naas (7f, soft) last month. Little backed and ran modestly. Better ground and 1 mile will suit him better. Interesting and could be well handicapped on a mark of 84. Related to winners.

This looks fiercely competitive, and I wouldn't really want to call it, but a really interesting contender is three-year-old Cardiff By The Sea. Her two-year-old form is strong. She ran fourth in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot and won over five furlongs at Cork last time, having gone three lengths clear of the field. The second that day ran third to Charles Darwin in a Listed event at the weekend. By St Mark's Basilica, and Fozzy Stack trained the Listed-winning dam. Unexposed in this company and looks to have some speed.

Only two places up for grabs, but That's Amore is an interesting runner here. Impressive six-length winner on debut at age two. Well backed when returning behind Minnie Hauk in last year's Cheshire Oaks. Ultimately, it was a respectable but slightly disappointing effort. Returned to beat an odds-on Andrew Balding-trained favourite at Southwell last month, and that's good form going into this race, with a number of these mares and fillies not having run for some time. Gabby's Cross is a very big each-way price at 100-1. It's competitive but perhaps not the most classy of Bet365 Gold Cup renewals. Gabby's Cross has run six times this season since joining Nick Scholfield and three of those efforts have been respectable, twice beaten by less than two lengths. Has been better on drier ground this season. Always behind and pulled up in the Ayr Gold Cup just a week ago and is looking over-raced this season. Perhaps heavy ground didn't suit and Sandown is much closer to home. The 11-year-old has run quite well here this year. Potentially could creep into the first four places.

Officially joint top-rated (with Jonbon) on OR165, Solness is a highly talented sort and, at eight years old, perhaps the right age for this. Back to his best when running Grey Dawning to within a neck at Aintree two weeks ago (with Heart Wood, who beat Jonbon in the Ryanair at Cheltenham, a well-beaten third there) over 2m4f.
