Eight-year-old Sa Majeste has shown much promise in the past and has two decent wins over fences at close to three miles. Third in the Kim Muir and tried in the Irish National last year. Never involved in the Paddy Power here last time. A winner off a mark just 1 pound higher in the past, he looks quite well in carrying 10-12 in this race. Minorly intriguing entry from Ireland for R K Watson. Smart maiden winner over 7f in late 2023 for George Scott, and the handicap mark has dropped far since. Second of 15 at Gowran Park (7f, heavy) is the only really decent form since. Showed little in recent outings at Dundalk over 6f and 1 mile, but this remains an interesting race to appear in. Receives a good deal of weight all round from a low mark of 46, with 8 stone 9 pounds allotted (1 pound out of the handicap proper). Cam Hardie carries the low weight.

The Paul Nicholls-trained 7yo won this contest two years ago off OR124 and was beaten one length by Welsh Charger last year (2 lbs better off today). Has run well with excuses the last two starts. Lost many lengths from an awkward start when third to Go Dante at Sandown. Perhaps didn't get the best ride by Olive Nicholls in a slightly odd race here last time. Worth another go.
