Preference here goes to the Tim Easterby trained Boilin Neil. Extremely well treated off his hurdles mark with Tom Kiely Marshall claiming a very useful 5lb. Emphasis on speed may not be as crucial with soft in the going description, but if he's a 1m6f horse now, time will tell. Proven stamina over further, and he does like to be ridden prominent. Conditions in favor, and he's very attractively weighted to get involved.

Preference here goes to the Craig Lidster trained, Blufferonthebus. Performing above and beyond on the AW and making plenty of use of W Pyle's 5lb claim through the spring. Not so straightforward last time back on turf, but I'm not sure that race was run to suit. Previous C&D winner when a comfortable winner last year off (60). This filly has won off (67), on soft, so there's scope for improvement of her current mark of (64). Conditions to suit.

Preference here goes to the Micky Hammond trained, B Associates. Four-time course winner that has come in for market support this morning. I'm not sure he's an out-and-out miler, but he did go off 8/1 last year over C&D in a better race than this. That was off a 12lb higher mark, so it's logical to believe this could well be a very well-handicapped horse with soft in the going description. Attractively weighted with a decent strike rate at this grade.

Preference here goes to the Daisy Hitchens-trained, Toolatetonegotiate. Remains a maiden, but on the evidence, it does seem to be just a matter of when, and not if. Very consistent filly, that's operating on a very good mark if taking into consideration the very useful 5lb that Luke Catton brings. Drops back into a 0-68, with leading claims if she can push on. The yard is sticking her to the task, and she did go close at Lingfield in first-time cheekpieces. Encouraged to see the headgear remain, and hopefully, a repeat of that effort will see her prevail today.

Preference here goes to the Derek Shaw-trained Buraback. Two-time C&D winner that's been clocking up a lot of miles this year, but he shows no signs of regressing. He still tries his heart out, and it's hard to overlook him here back in calmer waters. He absolutely loves this place with four wins. Took his career tally to nine wins on the AW at Chelmsford, off only a 1 lb lower mark, in April, so he's not weighted out of this, and I'm surprised he's priced up this big.
