Much improved gelding this season. Got off the mark over an extended 2 miles 7 furlongs at Lingfield in November, was going like a winner when falling at the 2nd last over this course and distance in January, before staying on strongly to win here last time. 6lbs higher now, but useful conditional rider claims 3.

Mare has become a model of consistency . Finished a runner-up over this course and distance in November, before recording back-to-back wins at Uttoxeter and Aintree in December. Went up 15 lbs as a result of those efforts, but finished a close 2nd , upped to this grade at Newbury last time. Up another 2 lbs now, but this looks an easier race,
