Gooner Jay

Now trained in Australia (from USA), he has done really well since entering Group 1's, winning some nice races. Looks the real deal to me, but there is a slight doubt about this straight mile and how he handles it. I guess that's why we're getting 20-1.

One of my tracker horses has flagged up this morning and is already getting some support in the market. So just in case it falls any more, I'm getting it in early. "Blew the field away-fast-looks decent" are all my notes said about the debut run, and sometimes that's all that's needed. Was only about a length behind Albert Einstein in the Group 3 Marble Hill at the Curragh last month, and before withdrawn, that was the favorite for this race. Has decent chances IMO.

Another one of my tracker horses who I noted as a 2yo. Only had one race as a 3yo almost a year ago and returned to action last month with a very ring-rusty 2nd at Haydock. Was held up in that race and had to wait for an opening, but was a little all over the place, which was probably the jockey's fault, but you can't be too harsh with such a lack of racing. My notes said back in Sept 23 that this was a 7f-8f horse and even that last race was over 6f, so it's a risky one now back to 5f, but I'll take the risk.
