I'm a sports and betting enthusiast and love trying to solve the puzzle of big handicaps both on the flat and over the jumps. The majority of my tips are double figure prices and I rarely back the favourites. I'm always looking for value and try to post the tips the evening before to get the early prices. Twitter @JamPizza

Amongst those in the first half dozen or so in the betting, this one looks the most likely to be suited by a step up in trip. He is a strong fancy here, having run well in all three races so far over shorter. This well-bred colt comes from the same jockey/trainer combo as last year's winner, and the horses that he's been finishing close up to are of a high enough standard to suggest he should go very close here off this mark of 93.

Johnny Murtagh knows a thing or two about high-class races, and this is the real unknown in the race. I suspect Murtagh wouldn't be lining up the horse if he didn't think he was a bit special. Whilst he clearly needs to progress, he looks just the type that could surprise. He easily beat a well-regarded horse from the O'Brien stable last time out and is bred to be very useful. Worth a small bet at this price, I would suggest.

This gelding by Australia is well drawn and could be poised to strike now on his 3rd start for his current stable having been brought in from the all conquering Haggas yard. His third at Yarmouth on debut was behind a future Group winner and ahead of some horses rated around the 90 mark so considering that was his debut, I'd say he could well be up to winning this off 84.
