Very capable if she can repeat her 16-length beating of subsequent AKLE winner Kargese at Cork back in December. Gets a mares' allowance and may well be soft enough for her at the start of the day before it begins to dry out.

King Of Kingsfield

Rated 8 lb inferior to the best of these on official ratings. Punchestown winner in October, but two very poor runs followed and now off since November. Not sure if the horse had an issue, but they've had time to put him right and could come here as fresh as a daisy. Wears first-time cheekpieces. May not have reached his ceiling just yet.

8th in the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham, and another who got outpaced two out. Another might try different tactics here and try to force the pace a little to take the sting out of those with a turn of foot. Can stay on to be among the five places.

Duke Silver

Stable in form, and I think they will have learned a lot from his 6th of 24 in the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham. He got outpaced 2 out but stayed on well enough. I think they will try to keep him up with the pace and then try to draw the sting from those with a turn of foot at about 4f out.

Official mark is up with the best of these, but how that transposes from France to GB remains to be seen. But he's here, looks capable, and I doubt they've come from France for sight-seeing along the Mersey.

Can get amongst the four places on offer. Sean Bowen rides, and he was aboard last time out when this one cruised to the lead at Sandown. Then it seemed to idle a bit and needed to be shaken up. Might be a tricky ride, but a top jockey rides and there could be plenty more to come.

Interesting ??" upped in trip, as long as the ground remains on the soft side of good. Sean Bowen rides; he was on board when winning at Cheltenham in December. He followed that up at the same course three weeks later but was pulled up. Has had a wind op, and no surprises if that helps him last home.

Uncle Bert

Tired and fading when falling 2 out in the Welsh National. But did well to a point, and this trip on slightly better ground could suit. Was only 7/1 that day, so quietly fancied. Can get amongst the 5 places.

Won the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham, and that's no mean feat beating 23 others. Up in trip, but finished really well that day, which shows there could be more to come over this trip.

Surprised by the price. 8/1 for a horse who has just won the Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham is a great EW price. He should be among the four places on offer if that race hasn't taken too much out of him.

Might not be the stable first string, but the stable is going well with winners on Thursday. Will be ridden by Keith Donoghue at the time of writing, a jockey who was Tiger Roll's regular rider but didn't ride him in either of his National victories. This horse has the Dosage profile to win this, and that means he may have the required stamina, even if it isn't apparent from what he's shown so far. Classy at best; did OK in the Gold Cup.

If all is well in the yard (Nick Rockett withdrawn due to coughing in the yard), then this horse, who won in 2024 and was 2nd last year, can become one of the all-time National greats by regaining his crown. Certainly looks a great each-way bet to finish among the six places. Paul Townend rides. Last year he had a crashing fall on El Fabiolo before this race and may have been riding a little sore, possibly costing him a few lengths.

Ludvig Aberg

1st Round Leader

50 WIN

Round 1 second last year and Round 2 leader in 2024, where he went on to finish 2nd overall. Capable of the R1 lead at a very attractive price.

Rory McIlroy

1st Round Leader

25 EW

Had a great Round 2 last year before going on to win the tournament. He will be extra motivated as defending champion to get off to a great start.

Scottie Scheffler

1st Round Leader

25 EW

4th on the first round leaderboard last year and 2nd in 2024. He is very capable of being among the top 5 places on the first day. Looks a great each-way price.

Bryson DeChambeau

25 EW

Excellent first rounds in 2024 and 2025 and also did well in round 2 last year. Needs to keep it going in the latter half of the tournament, but is capable and could easily finish among the seven places on offer.

Ludvig Aberg

25 EW

Finished 2nd in 2024 and was 2nd on the first-round leaderboard last year before fading. This is a year he can put it all together and can certainly get among the 7 places on offer.

Nicolai Hojgaard

25 EW

Great each-way price to get among the seven places on offer. Seems to be a player capable of winning a round and then fading. He has struggled for consistency but has been playing well recently, and that may be due to increased maturity. He's only going to improve and may well do it across all four rounds here, not just one or two.

Patrick Reed

25 EW

Did well to finish 3rd last year, improving as the tournament went on. In 2024 he was among the principals in Round 2 and could well put it all together this time.

Scottie Scheffler

50 WIN

An obvious one, but he loves it here. He won here in 2024 and was 4th last year. No surprises if he's right there again, battling away on the final day.

Bryson DeChambeau

1st Round Leader

25 EW

5th in the first round last year and was the R1 leader in 2024. Plays the early rounds really well and is definitely capable of being among the 5 places on offer.

Justin Rose

1st Round Leader

25 EW

Led the first round last year and kept that going to finish 2nd overall. Will definitely be motivated to go one better and can get among the first five places.

Justin Rose

Top European

25 EW

No reason Justin Rose can't get among the 4 places here. Likes this course and got off to a great start in 2025. Kept it going nicely to stay in contention on the last day.

Ludvig Aberg

Top European

25 EW

Overall 2nd in 2024 and got off to a great start last year before fading. This course suits his game and he can be among the top 4 places.

Rory McIlroy

Top European

50 WIN

Really got going as the tournament progressed last year to go on and win. Can be the top European this time even if he doesn't go on to win the whole tournament.

Bryson DeChambeau

Top American

25 EW

Had decent opening rounds in 2024 and 2025, and also a good second round last year. Has the ability to be more consistent and can get among the top five places.

Max Homa

Top American

25 EW

Capable, if repeating the form of his overall 4th in 2024. Got off to a good start that year, and if he does so again could provide a shock at 66/1.

Patrick Reed

Top American

25 EW

Got going in the latter rounds last year to finish the overall tournament in third, but had finished 3rd in R2 in 2024 to show he's capable of being among the five places for top American.

Scottie Scheffler

Top American

50 WIN

No reason why he can't be the number one American. Won the whole tournament in 2024 and was 4th overall last year. Repeats of those results will put him right in contention.
