Much depends on whether the champion jockey can get this horse involved from what looks like a tricky draw. If anyone can, he can. Two listed wins at York over 5f bode well, with 6f at the same track being too much last time out and Ascot too stiff before (with one run in a Group 1).

His 4th of 20 in the Champion Sprint at Ascot in October was impressive, finishing just a length away from the winner. Ran well for a long way on debut but was too keen that day. Stepping up in trip is not the obvious answer, but I think they will try different tactics here - settle the horse towards the rear and hope the horse has enough in the tank when asked for effort. This is a fast track with likely yielding ground. The ground should be enough to prevent any leaders stealing a few lengths when kicking on, and the track fair enough to ensure it's not too stamina-sapping for this one.
