John Higgins crawled over the line in 6-5 wins over Chris Wakelin and Xiao Guodong, having more than his fair share of luck in both. I can't see his run continuing against Judd Trump in the semi-final. Trump made the semis in much calmer waters, trouncing both Lei Peifan and Shaun Murphy. It's Trump for me!

John Higgins missed plenty of shots in both his wins, but his tactical play helped him secure his two victories. He'll not get many chances against Judd Trump in this S/F, the Englishman winning his matches against Peifan and Murphy with the loss of just two frames. With a handicap of -2.50, I fancy Trump to win!

I fancy Judd Trump to prove too strong for John Higgins in this S/F. The world number 1 brushed aside Scottish Open champion Lei Peifan 6-2 and Masters champion Shaun Murphy 6-0. The Scot won both his matches by 6-5 scorelines. I fancy Trump to win 6-3!

Adrien Saddier has yet to win on the DP World Tour, but with three top 20s in his last five tournaments, including a 7th at the Kenya Open, an improving golfer, I'll take the French player to strongly contend in Singapore this week!

Brandon Robinson Thompson is showing some excellent form with a 3rd place finish at the Qatar Masters last month and a T-7 at the recent Joberg Open. On current form, Robinson Thompson must be one of the favourites to finish top 7 in Singapore this week!

Kyren Wilson is playing winning snooker. The world champion was way too good for both Mark Allen and Mark Williams, winning both matches by comfortable 6-3 margins. He's second favorite behind Trump, but I believe his brand of snooker looks the best on show here!

Michael Kim didn't produce the goods at the Players last week, which was a surprise, as he'd finished 4th at the Arnold Palmer the previous week. With a great belief in his game, Kim has shown big improvement, especially this season, finishing second in Phoenix and T-6 at the Cognizant Classic. I'll take Kim to go close at this week's Valspar!

Stephan Jaeger was a contender at The Players last week, but a final round three-over 75 spoiled his tournament, eventually finishing 20th. A one-time winner on the PGA Tour, the German's game has improved over the last couple of seasons. I feel he's ready to win again, and the Valspar could be his to win. However, I'll take him to finish top 7 at the Copperhead course in Florida this week!

Stewart Cink has recently turned 51, so is eligible to play on the Champions Tour as well as continuing on the PGA Tour. His game has always been strong and with 8 tournament wins, including the Open at Troon in 2009, I fancy he can add a maiden Champions tournament win to his win tally!

Angel Ayora is the new kid on the block with a great all-round game. A T-14 in Qatar is his best finish in recent tournaments, but I believe there's a lot more to come from the 20-year-old. I'll take Ayora to finish top 7 in Singapore this week!

Jordan Smith has two wins on the DP World Tour and that stat should read a lot more. The English golfer has been in contention for a win on many occasions, but somehow, the successes didn't materialize. A top 30 at the Joberg Open saw him open with a 63, but a 74 in round two and 72 in three saw him fall behind, and a 67 to finish showed his form is a little inconsistent. If finding more consistency this week, he can add a third career win in Singapore this week!

Richard Mansell played well at the South African Open, finishing T-11 after 54 holes, which could have been better had the tournament had its full four days. It's surprising the Englishman hasn't had a win on the DP World Tour, as he possesses all the attributes of a top-class golfer. I'll take Mansell to finish top 7 at the Singapore Classic!

I'm expecting great darts from teen sensation Luke "The Nuke" Littler this evening. It's surprising Littler hasn't done better in these premier tournaments, so hopefully we'll see him take the silverware tonight!
