Bryson DeChambeau is playing great golf winning the US Open and I fancy he'll strongly contend on a much easier course than last week's Open at Royal Troon where he missed the cut. You know when you back DeChambeau you'll get a run for your money, so the American is the choice.

Jerry Kelly went close at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club last year finishing in a tie for 7th. The American has 11 career wins and scores of top 5s and 10s. Hewill enjoy playing links golf at Carnoustie this week. He's not won on the Senior's Tour since 2022, but I believe he can challenge strongly this week.

Likely fav Padraig Harrington played well at the Open last week, one of the senior players to make the cut, but I doubt he'll win the Senior Open in a field containing some of golf's greats. Miguel Angel Jimenez was always a consistent golfer week in week out. I fancy the Spanish great to strongly challenge at Carnoustie this week.

Sam Burns played some great golf at last week's Open at Royal Troon shooting middle rounds of 69 and 65, though a final round 80 sent him down to 31st spot. I'll take the American to lead after round 1 at the 3M Open in Minneapolis this week.

A chance is taken on newcomer to the tour Rico Hoey who has been at the business end of tournaments in recent weeks' A T-8 at last week's Barracuda Championship and an excellent T-6 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. The Filipino golfer could go close at the 3M Open this week.

Sam Burns' form has picked up after a lean spell with top 10 finishes at the Canadian and US Opens in recent months. The American played some great golf at last week's Open and had he not shot a final round 80, he would have finished a lot higher than his 31st placed finish. Burns has his confidence back and I fancy the five time PGA Tour winner can be a strong contender in Minneapolis this week.
