The Gluttony slot has 5 reels, 5 rows and 3,125 ways to win. As with most online slot games, 3 or more matching symbols appear from left to right on consecutive reels and beginning from the leftmost reel will form a winning combination. Only the highest win per way to win will be paid.

Then comes the unhealthy food which represents the higher-value symbols: you’ll see beer, ice cream, macaroni and cheese, burgers and pizza. Gluttony benefits from 9 bonus features. A tad confusing to say the least, there are tumbles and upgrading symbols as well as an xZone sauce symbol that applies a +1 multiplier increase on paying symbols and wilds. Wild Pot symbols collect food symbols whilst increasing their multiplier. With respins and multipliers, the Order Up! features gives you free spins with a multiplier of up to 4x. In the FEDCON 1 feature, the aim is to collect symbols for additional free spins as well as increase the Fat Bastard’s multiplier as you pass through the levels.

Tumble

When you land a winning combination, the Tumble feature will be activated. Winning symbols will be removed from the reels with the other symbols (non-winning ones) falling to fill the empty positions.

With new symbols falling or tumbling in from above, you have the opportunity to land another winning combination. The process repeats itself as long as you keep winning.

Furthermore, symbols can visually upgrade meaning their value multiplies by 2 permanently until a new spin commences. This can lead to a 2x and 4x multiplier respectively.

xZone

The Gluttony slot game is the first title to use the xZone mechanic which is activated when the xZone sauce (ketchup) symbol appears. Applying a +1 multiplier value on each paying symbol and Cooked Chicken Wild next to it, several xZone Sauce symbols can appear on the same row.

Wild Pot 

Look out for the Wild Pot symbol landing during the Order Up!, Double Up!, Quadruple Up! and FEDCON 1 bonus features, only reels 2, 3, 4 and/or 5. It substitutes for all paying symbols. 

When the Wild Pot symbol is part of a win, it will attempt to collect any nearby food symbols (horizontally and vertically) as well increasing its multiplier:

• Low-value symbol: +1 per winning symbol
• Medium-value symbol: +2 per winning symbol
• Cooked Chicken Wild symbol: +2 per winning symbol

When the Wild Pot collects nearby food symbols, the Wild Pot becomes sticky with an increased multiplier for 1 more win. If this doesn’t happen, it’s removed from the reels. In the next tumble, the Wild Pot remains in play with its size as a special wild.

Golden Bell Spins 

Landing 1 Golden Bell Scatter will trigger the Golden Bell Spins feature. 2 respins plus a 2x multiplier will be awarded. If you land another Golden Bell Scatter, you will get 2 extra respins with the multiplier rising to 4x. Landing 3 Golden Bell Scatters in succession will trigger the FEDCON 1 feature.

Order Up!

Landing 3 Silver Bell Scatter symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 will activate the Order Up! feature: 8 free spins will be awarded. Look out for a Golden Bell Scatter landing when the current multiplier is 4x. This will see you play the FEDCON 1 feature with 6 free spins.

• Double Up! feature: Triggered when you land 1 Golden Bell Scatter and 2 Silver Bell Scatters. You will get 10 free spins with a 2x multiplier.
• Quadruple Up! feature: Activated by landing 2 Golden Bell Scatters plus 1 Silver Bell Scatter. Your reward will be 12 free spins with a 4x multiplier.

FEDCON 1 

The Gluttony slot focuses on the FEDCON 1 feature. Triggered by landing 3 Golden Bell Scatter symbols, you’ll get 6 free spins. Every win goes from the Fat Bastard as it’s the starting point for any win (i.e. from the middle of the screen). It’s known as Crosslink Wins.

With 5 levels available, you can upgrade to upper levels by collecting a certain number of winning symbols. For levels 2, 3, 4 or 5, you need to collect 20, 30, 40 or 50 winning symbols each time.

• Low-value symbols will award +1 per winning symbol
• Medium-value and Cooked Chicken Wilds contribute +2 per winning symbol

With each new level, 2 extra free spins are won as well as a +1 multiplier on the Fat Bastard character and a free respin.

During the FEDCON 1 feature, the Wild Pot can only land on the inner reels and will collect all food symbols on its connected outer reel. This will prevent these symbols from contributing to the Fat Bastard’s progression. Furthermore, the xZone Sauce symbol will only land on the inner reels. It will then apply a +1 multiplier to all connected paying symbols.

Finally, the Golden Bell Scatter appears on the outer reels only. They will permanently multiply all outer reel values by 2.

For starters (no pun intended), Nolimit City has yet again created a controversial game with the Gluttony slot. With an emphasis on healthy eating and exercise, NLC has made this game all about a Fat Bastard character who isn’t messing around when it comes to food.

He believes bigger is better with moderation not a factor in his quest for a ‘Heart Attack’. This is reinforced by the higher payouts awarded for unhealthy food options (such as pizza, beer and burgers) versus more healthy options (i.e. vegetables and salad). I love how Fat Bastard excitedly sings along and hums as he’s being served and fed.

Introducing a new xZone mechanic which sees nearby symbols and wilds splattered by a multiplier, the Wild Pot collects nearby food symbols when part of a win to increase its multiplier and become a sticky wild for an extra win.

With the Order Up! features awarding free spins and multipliers, the main attraction is the FEDCON 1 feature where Crosslink Wins apply. Unusual, a few spins in demo mode will allow you to understand what the hell is going on.

The aim is to collect winning symbols to progress through the levels which reward you with extra free spins and increase the Fat Bastard’s multiplier. Wild Pot, xZone Sauce and Golden Bell Scatters really come into their own during this feature.
