I've now covered the summary, intro, graphics, music, and sound effects. Next up, is are the key game features of the Xterminate slot game.
At OLBG we create slot games reviews that include up-to-date info about essential features such as the theme, paylines, reels and bonuses. I’ll wind up the review by talking about my play experience, first impressions and expert verdict.
Theme - Futuristic
This game has been labelled as futuristic due to the dystopian feel of the game, plus the fact that a robot is the highest-value symbol on the grid. The music sets the scene perfectly, and the background image shows an inner-city street with protesters running amock, the street is on fire, and people are waving flags. The colours are purple and blue hues alongside the orange flames of the fire.
The grid is industrial; you can see pipes and barbed wire on the steel-coloured reels. The symbols have been designed in neon shades which are a dramatic contrast against the grid. The character symbols are a robot head, gas mask, spiked club, and a graffiti can. These are then followed by the A, K, Q, J and 10. The Ace is designed to be an anarchist symbol.
Reels
The Xterminate slot game is made up of 6 reels and 5 rows to play with.
Paylines
Xterminate is a scatter pays game, so if you land 8 or more symbols of the same kind anywhere on the grid, it triggers a win.
RTP
Return to Player, more commonly referred to as RTP, is a way of measuring (theoretically) what percentage of players' stakes will be returned to them over the long term, so it's one to look out for. The higher the number, the better for players; RTP should be around 96% or more. Xterminate is much lower than the average, at only 94.12%.
Thunderkick uses this RTP figure as a default value, so if you shop around, you’ll discover different rates, though in this case, they are 94.12% or lower. We’ve identified a few RTPs at some of the current popular UK online casinos and added them to the table below.
It's worth noting that RTP is just one factor when deciding which site to play at. You should also consider payment options, a list of games, customer support, and welcome bonuses and deals. Our casino reviews look at this information and much, much more.

Stake Range
The Xterminate slot game has a wide bet range, starting at £0.10 and going up to £100.
Max Win
The max win for the Xterminate slot game is 25,000x your stake.
Wild Symbol
The Wild symbol for the Xterminate game is depicted by the Charged Wild symbol, which you can see in the screenshot below. It substitutes for all other symbols apart from the Bomb symbol. It's worth a random number of lives from 1 to 3. One life is consumed when a wild is involved in a win and when all lives are consumed, the Charged Wild disappears from the reels. Charged Wild symbols are protected when a Bomb explodes.
Play Experience & First Impressions
There is no bonus round for the Xterminate game, which was a surprise, so there are no free spins to enjoy. All of the action takes place during the base game. But isn't the bonus round usually where the magic happens? I tried to keep an open mind but the game felt a bit flat without it. There was not enough in the base game to make it exciting enough to warrant not having a bonus game. When the Xterminate Multipliers trigger, this is fantastic, they look superb on the grid, and it is often triggered when testing the game for this review. But it felt like the game needed a bit more meat on the bones.
The other headliner feature is the Bomb symbol, which, again, when triggered, does look superb visually (see the above screenshot). Here when it's visible with winning combos, it explodes but does not detonate all instances of the most common symbol in view. If more than one symbol is equally common, only the highest-paying one is held. All other symbols are removed, triggering an Avalanche of the reels. This can bring in wins if it's a decent symbol.
